What spiritual battles are you facing? Whatever is plaguing us-inner struggles, temptations, spiritual harassment, or opposition to the gospel-we can win our spiritual battles because in Christ, we don't just survive. We excel.
Will we allow the obstacles and difficulties of our daily Christian lives to overcome us, or will we fight to win the victory over them? The principles that Paul passed to Timothy armed him for victory, and they can arm us, too. Victory is possible because God makes it possible.

Katy Kauffman is a gifted writer and has written a must-read for all ages. She makes the Bible come alive and shows that it’s still applicable to people’s lives today. If you have ever wondered if it's possible to rise above the challenges of life and live victoriously, then you need to read her book. At the end of each day’s devotion, she’s given us a bullet-pointed list so we know “How to Fight to Win.” Not only will each day’s devotion leave you encouraged, it also helps energize you so you can tackle the day and walk in victory.
In 2 Timothy: Winning the Victory, Katy Kauffman uses a methodical approach to quickly and easily work through the entire book of 2 Timothy. Her expository methods require her to deal with each verse without skipping more difficult passages.
Kauffman also does a great job staying consistent to her theme of fighting spiritual battles. As our culture deteriorates and temptations increase, our ability as Christians to fight in spiritual warfare will become mandatory. Her book is a greatly needed resource in the world today.
I also appreciated that Kauffman included a section on application at the end of each lesson. We can’t merely know the Word; we have to apply it to our lives and allow it to transform us!
After reading 2 Timothy: Winning the Victory, I feel as though I have participated in a 40-day, in depth Bible study with a church. This is more than a book of devotions based on 2 Timothy; it's a Bible study. And it could not have come at a more perfect time in my life.
2 Timothy: Winning the Victory covers everything that one would need to equip themselves for spiritual battles and ministry, both of which Christians face almost daily. Katy Kauffman has a gift of showing the truth in scriptures, and giving illustrations in a way that helps the reader relate and understand the concepts. I loved the way the book was laid out, too: divided into days, so that I was able to read one section each day during my quiet time. At the end of each section, there was a list of bullet points--similar to an outline--that contained the main principles covered in that section. The reader is then able to circle their favorite points. This made it easy for me to go back and review my favorite concepts, without having to search for my highlights. Each section also ends with a list of questions to help the reader apply what they learned, as well as a prayer to conclude the day's study. And at the end of each chapter is a "roll call", which lists several fill in the blanks to help the reader remember the principles they learned throughout the sections. I highly recommend this book to all ages. It would also be a perfect resource for small groups and Bible studies to read and discuss as a group.
Not only was this book packed full of spiritual truths and ways to help the reader grow spiritually, but it was also very well-written. It is obvious that Katy Kauffman has a true gift of writing, and I cannot wait to read her future Bible studies.
Katy Kauffman’s Winning the Victory Bible study really is about what the title suggests—looking at God’s word to prepare for winning spiritual battles that occur in our daily life. She shows us how we too can learn from Paul’s experiences and the principles he is passing on to Timothy. Those principles are still valid and we can utilize them today.
This Bible study is in a devotional format with questions at the end. The short devotionals are encouraging, instructive, and make the Bible passages come alive. For each day’s devotional there are 3-10 thought-provoking questions to help us get more out of the passage studied. If you work on it in the morning, those questions may follow you thorough out the day and you may have a better understanding of your own spiritual journey and battles at the end of the day.
Hi, I'm the author of 2 Timothy: Winning the Victory, and I wanted to share a little bit about why 2 Timothy is special to me. The truths that God included in this small, but powerful, book of the Bible have meant a lot to me. Second Timothy has taught me how to face spiritual battles and fight for victory. We can fight to win because God is helping us to be overcomers. He trains us and equips us. I needed the principles that Paul gave to Timothy, and I hope that they bless you if you study this great book of the Bible.
