Rate this book
It seems that both the witches and the goblins have it in for Elle and Niall. When Elle is summoned by her nemesis, Rebecca, to investigate an accident at an archaeological dig, she finds ties to the coven, but there is also evidence of goblin involvement. Even more perplexing is new information about her mother's death. Determined to get to the truth, Elle meets with the goblins, where suspicion is thrown on Niall. The coven witches have plenty to say, too, and their conflict turns territorial. Who can Elle the warlock she loves, the witches, or the goblins? And when her pregnant goblin friend faces life-threatening danger, will the evdience Elle uncovers escalate tensions into an all-out witches-versus-goblins war? And will she be caught in the middle? Rebecca never seems to be far away, and she's reeled Elle into investigating a strange happening on a dig site. Its interesting to see the relationship between the two developing, but is everything as it appears. Why does Rebecca need Elle, or does she have an interior motive?
Elle has picked up some good friendships along the way, and its good to see these characters developing.
I enjoyed the the uncertainty between Niall and Elle.

Looking forward to reading book 4.

Questions and Answers

Well the saga continues. Some questions are answered, yet more arise. Betrayal is rampant in this installment. I really enjoy figuring out how the plot will unfold. I love when I'm challenged, and this book did just that.

Great Series

A very bewitching series of self-realization, accession of power, and a changing of the guard in Edinburgh. A very nice departure from some of the more boilerplate supernatural novels.

This is the 3rd book in the Witch Detectives series following Witch and Famous. This is not a standalone novel. While there are passages that reference events of the two previous novels in the series, they are in place more to remind the reader about a certain event, not to explain it.

While the story is relatively short – about 165 pages – this is not some light, flirty, little paranormal romantic suspense. It is a serious murder mystery. The fact that the main characters are witches and goblins do not make the story any less a tale of lethal intent and execution. And the motivations for the murder and mayhem that take place are no different for the magical creatures of this tale than they are for so-called humans. A psychopath is a psychopath.

The novel is intelligently and systematically laid out. Each scene rolls smoothly into the next and chapter follows chapter seamlessly. The author writes the tale in first person POV; therefore, we only know what is happening as it happens to Elle, as she figures it out. However, the author is quite clever in planting the clues within that first person POV and I managed to figure out the identity of the villain a few pages ahead of Elle.

While this is not the last book of the series, it does not end in a monumental cliffhanger either. The main story is wrapped up realistically but the sub-plots are still there, simmering quietly until the next time.

I have a Friday Review for you .. Eve Paludan and Stuart Sharp have come up with an "Enchanting" Series In The Witch Detective Books. The Third in the Series "Witch Way Out" has our Hero; Elle and all of her loved ones back and fighting for their very existence. This book has a war between Witches and Goblins that has been eons in the making. A Prophecy, A Coven of Witches, An Underworld of Goblins, A Werewolf, Answers to Questions from the first two books.. and a Deception so big it has The Most Powerful of those who hold magic facing each other... Who comes out of this Alive? Who wins the war? Does anyone ever win a war? and as Frightening as this all sounds .. Ms. Paludan and Mr. Sharp tell the story in such a way that at times you are giggling and at other times you are crying .. I LOVE this series and cannot wait until the next book.. I give Witch Way Out .. 5 Enchanting Spells .. VERY WELL DONE!!

What do you do when the people who have tried to kill you (more than once)ask for your help? What do you do when the man who saved you might be a killer? How do you stop the rising tide of war? Elle is about to be faced with those very questions in Witch Way Out.

From passionate moments, to breath holding fear, to epic battle scenes between witches, warlocks and goblins on a majestic hilltop in Scotland, no one writes them like Eve Paludan and company. This book has it all if you like the supernatural. Eve writes in a way that sometimes makes you wonder if these folk don't just walk among us everyday. If you haven't read the first two books, don't worry Eve crafts enough back story to help you along. Elle, Niall, Fergie and Siobhan will hook you and you will become fast friends. This is a great read.

Politics and deception in the magical world of Edinburgh is dangerous for all. Especially when lies and secrets bubble to the surface, Elle is forced to take a stand no one will like and others will find difficult to abide by. Elle is approached by Lucille, Elizabeth and Flora - the coven of three wanting Elle to enter the coven, to be back under their thumb. At the same time Siobhan's pregnancy is causing concern among the goblins and coven, is she carrying the powerful goblin. Only time will time, but that doesn't stop some one from trying to kill her. As Niall tries to keep Elle safe. The death of Ulm, the truth about her mother's death and taking her city back is all Elle has to worry about. Can Elle really trust Rebecca

Oh Elle, where would we be if she wasn't the headstrong girl that she is. I love her thought process and her feelings. So many try to change her and she is herself through and through. I loved watching her make her own plan.

I loved the end they got what they deserved! Team Elle! Savior of Edinburgh!
