Emry and Anna's love has always been forbidden. They've been hunted, seen those around them murdered and still don't know who to blame or who to trust. In a world where Anna is considered just a human, can peace be achieved between those inhabiting Evadere and those cast out and left for dead? They have to find out who is after them before it's too late, before one of the lives lost is their own, but are Emry's powers strong enough to save the one he loves?

As their wedding day approaches, so does a war, and no one sees it coming.

Wonderful ending

I was happy to see many loose ends tied up here and some definite twists at the end. I truly enjoyed the trilogy but would love to see what happens down the road.

I was given a copy of each book in the "Strange in Skin" trilogy so I could participate in the blog tour you're reading now.
I personally thought that the books could have been one book instead of broken into a trilogy .
Aside from that the main character p.o.v. that the story is told from is an incredibly sheltered, suburban, religious female. With a Pastor for a father, a special needs brother, and a mother who runs an antique store.. Her life is as mundane and meh as it can get.
All this changes when Anna goes to the Seneca jail to pass out pamphlets & offer spiritual aid to the men being held there. This is where the story picks up.
EMERY LOGAN... Let me say the name again, Emery Logan!
From the moment Anna encounters the young male prisoner (being held under awful charges), things start to change in Anna. Emery is just as affected by his chance encounter with "The Preachers Daughter".
In the second book in the series"Evadere" there are many bombshells that rock the foundations if everything Anna thought she knew. Anna's parents have been keeping secrets. The shocking revelations about Anna's life are almost laughable to the conspiracy surrounding the formerly imprisoned Emery.
Emery & Anna's strength found in each other keep them going when everything that had been a constant , a safe secure fact becomes lies. Even as Anna & Emery try to deal with the shocks if their individual revelations, their enemies are plotting . Anna has to fend for herself for the first time. Luckily she runs into a Scave named Jo who is kind enough to show Anna the ropes if being a "powerless human", she quickly sums up the way things work on Evedere. The Contributors have abilities that allow them to grow food, build buildings, make clothes , learn medicine & care for the sick ect. Not every person born on Evadere has an ability. They become outcasts and have to Scavenge for anything they need. It's an age old hate between the Scaves, contributors & royalty . Suffice to say that Jo's tender heart gets in tossed out if her clan . Anna, Jo, & Rooney ( another Scave ) plan to infiltrate the castle try to find Emery & If there's a way to help out the obvious injustice of the social structure Anna wants to help.
At last Prince... no spoilers.. Emery and Anna are reunited . Emery will marry Anna and they will try to bring Evadere to peace.
Sadly just as humans look at material possessions , jobs, cars, a personal trophies as an example of their individual strength, love , and courage . Sadly that is not the case and it's going to take time on both planets to change belief system .
I have a feeling that this is not the end if the story . I honestly felt that the ending of the last book "Solace"it should have had a definable TBC. Make sure to add thr trilogy yo your TBR links are provided !

Solace is the third and last in the Strange in Skin Trilogy and I really can’t wait to see what else this author has up her sleeves. Sara has done a wonderful job and This will defiantly make my top ten of 2013!

Where do I start? Okay, Solace picks up right where Evader leaves off with a wicked Queen powerless and Emry no longer a puppet. With Emry’s eyes unclouded by his power hungry mother Anna and his relationship can finally grow and he can become King. But with his new title comes great responsibilities which he, like any person, is nervous about, but with Anna at his side they can do anything.

This is one of those Love can conquer all kind of stories, but not without challenges. Secrets are revealed, all questions are answered, and the future is cloudy. With enemies within the castle another struggle for power lies out before our cast and they are running out of time as the game for the Crone has began and this time someone’s life will be taken in the end.

I love the complexity to the relationship between Anna and Emry. They love each other to the fullest and they prove it over and over throughout each book. Anna’s unwillingness to believe he was a killer, Emry’s ability to fight his mother to save Anna, and their overall ability to try and change the world.

If you haven’t read any of Sara's books I suggest you follow one of the many links on this page and snag up your copy, because it is truly worth it. I have had a lot of fun reading her books and I must thank her for giving me an ARC.

-May your future works be just as powerful and moving as these.

This is book 3 in the series and all books have to be read in order.
This is the conclusion to Anna and Emry's story.
I gave this book 4 stars.

This is a very short read.

This book leaves right off where book two ends. And we are back in Evadere with Anna and now Emry fighting with all they have for their love, but it seems that the whole world is against them, they left Earth because of all the negativity and now it seems that it has followed them to this place too. Can they get through all of it and live HEA ??
And who is behind the plotting against them. And speaking of conniving nasty people, Emry's mother is just ad;lsfkja;lsdkfj Yep that is what I said I hate that woman.

This book was a great conclusion to the story of Anna and Emry. It was a short story that I was surprised did not feel rushed at all. It was very well written. I am so glad that I finished this series. It started off a little slow for me and I wasn't a real big fan but by the second book the Author had me hooked, and I had to keep reading. Well I would have to be honest and say that by the middle of book one I was hooked and wanted more. I was happy with the ending and how things panned out.

Thank you for your wonderful series.

Book Review → Solace by Sara V. Zook: Strange in Skin Trilogy

Opinion & Conclusion

Following the previous books in the series we are given another great read. Anna and Emry have both grown into stronger, more independent people. Their love has proven to be a great addition into their character development. They fight harder, and love more even against the odds. I like that the most, that love gives them strength and they use that love to fight.

It was great to see how it all tied together, progressed and ended. From the beginning of the series Anna and Emry have faced troubles and rivals and it's been wonderful to see how they overcome them. I am big on character development and reading them change was a blast. Sara created two characters I wasn't sure at first I would like, but what was neat is they grew on me. It's because of Sara's ability to showcase her characters growth that won me over.

This series was not what I expected but I'm glad I was able to review it. I learned a lot, and got to read about a new world created by the lovely Sara V. Zook.

I enjoyed reading the finale of this series (unless she writes more) If she does I will be on the look out for more. This world has endless possibilities. Bravo Sara.

This is the third book in the Strange in Skin series. You definitely need to read these in order.

In a world where the citizens do not trust the Earth raised heir-apparent and his human girlfriend, Emry and Anna are besieged with trial after trial. Will the power of love defeat those that surround them?

I have enjoyed my visit to the world of Evadere. Ms. Zook is a talented writer who has created a green and dust covered world with a red sky blanketed in crystal stars. Her world is modern with a twist of feudalism. This is currently a trilogy, but it is open enough to expand. If she chooses to continue this series, I will continue reading.

I was given this book by author for honest review. Fast paced and action packed book 3 begins right where book 2, Evadere, leaves off with Anna in Emry’s arms. After confronting the queen they begin to plan their wedding despite thinking/knowing everyone is against them. The wedding finally arrives but is interrupted by a rival that’s been behind all the difficulties. Success for them, but is there more to the story only Sara V. Zook knows.

"There was predictability in most of the outcomes, I think there was one that I didn’t pick, but even that was identified, resolved and anti-climactic. Everything happened so quickly that the intensity of the situation and the drama that it evoked was not allowed to prosper." - Kota

Loved this ending!!

This trilogy is like a modern day Romeo and Juliet, well kind of. Emry and Anna have had a lot to deal with, but they still have no clue who is killing people off. Now that they have decided to get married, things are happening more. Only knowing they can trust each other, they go forward with their plans. Will they finally get their happily ever after?

Loved, loved, loved! My favorite thing about reading a series is learning the back story and how each of the characters have earned their place in the story. You will not be disappointed...there are many surprises. Enjoy!
