Amy Preston-Miller has lived a charmed life. A successful young doctor and the pampered only child of Midwestern socialites, she has just married the man of her dreams. So what has caused her, just weeks after the wedding, to suffer an emotional collapse, unreachable to all that love her? It is Kevin Gates, the psychiatrist assigned to Amy’s case, who becomes her lifeline as she struggles to make sense of what has happened to her. He also becomes her protector against a husband who will do anything to have his wife returned to him. What Kevin never expects, however, is to become her captive audience as Amy relates a story to him too fantastic to believe.
Amy is convinced that she has lived before, not just once, but three times. Furthermore, she believes that she must set right the wrongs of her past or be doomed to repeat the violent and deadly pattern in which she has been caught for over almost two centuries. She also feels a desperate need to find the man with whom she has shared her past, as his lover and as his wife. She is insistent that she must find this man before he suffers the same tragic end which has befallen him three times before.
Despite Kevin’s skepticism, he is fascinated by Amy’s tale of past lives and his own connection to her. He is unable to deny his attraction to her as well as his desire to be a part of her memories. His own life has been void of emotional bonds, and he hopes that by finding himself in her past, he can uncover the mystery of his deep-seated fears of intimacy. As the past flows into the present, Kevin and Amy flee from Amy’s husband who has always played a pivotal role in Amy’s tragic past. Spanning almost 200 years, 4 distinct women with hauntingly similar lives fight for acceptance, happiness, and love. Amy hopes that by confronting her past, she will be able to create a future that fulfills her dreams of a simple life full of ordinary pleasures.

Being the only girl in her family, in fact the first female born into her father's family in sixty-five years, Sandy found escape from Matchbox cars, smelly bathrooms, and a general disdain for anything feminine, in books. Eventually the characters in her own head, clamoring to get out, found their way to paper. "Wait for Me" is her first novel and represents her love of history, romance, and a touch of paranormal.

In her real life, Sandy works as a speech language pathologist and moved to her dream town in Florida from the Midwest with her husband, two sons, and spoiled dog. She dreams in full length movies and tries her best to find quiet times to get them onto paper.

This was a great read! I have read a few books about reincarnation, and this was by far my favorite. The characters are easy to like (or hate), and the stories are so believable and real. I also like how the author constructed the story so it was not a lot of “back and forth,” which made it easy to understand what was going on taking you back to the memories. I couldn’t put this book down, and enjoyed every page. I will definitely read more from this great author!

Exciting

Reincarnation is at the center of this plot with a very interesting twist. The author does a great job of telling 4 stories that intertwine into the lives of the same 3 people in a 200 year span. As each story ends tragically, there is still hope for a happy ending in the next life. But what it takes to be happy is the key to stop the cycle of tragedy. Can the characters figure it out....read and see.

Easy read. Enjoyable story line. Quite shocking in places. I would love to read this story from the point of view of the other characters. I would have liked more of an American indian aspect and consequentially a bit more depth to the idea of re-incarnation. Loved the fantastic nightmare theme of being hunted by a predator 'wolf' like soul.

A really enjoyable book, the way the story is told made for a fluid read rather than being disjointed.
