Blackthorn Saga #3

Sanguine Prophecy

Rate this book
Will love and friendship be enough to restore the balance when ancient truths are revealed, or is history doomed to repeat itself?

Blaire is determined to solve the mystery of why as a human she is bound to a Vasirian—and why her blood alone can cause madness. She offers her cooperation in exchange for Lukas's release from the dungeon. In the Order’s hidden lab, she endures repeated blood draws and painful experiments, yet the solace she finds in her fantasy dreamscape leaves her with more questions. When a mysterious stranger seems to know more than he's letting on, an unexpected connection with him overwhelms Blaire, leaving her off-kilter.

Her bond with Lukas has not fully returned, raising their anxiety and straining communication. Additionally, Lukas faces vicious rumors at Blackthorn Academy that he is a murderer. Worried he has destroyed his future, he needs Blaire's support, yet the empathic whisper of her fear and pain drives him instead into familiar patterns of self-isolation.

When the Oracle reveals startling truths about Blaire's lineage that reach deep into the past and across a dimensional divide, ancient magic detailed in the Sanguine Prophecy stirs. To restore the cosmic balance, Blaire, Lukas and their friends must risk their lives to thwart the Order’s grand plan—or these long-buried secrets could blow the Vasirian world wide open.

CAN’T WAIT FOR BOOK 4

since starting the blackthorn saga every book is a delight and a surprise when it comes to dealing with sensitive subjects like trauma both emotional and physical, as well as consent. i rly appreciate how stephanie takes a therapeutic and emotionally mature approach to all of these topics because it gives a new and refreshing take on the fated mate trope. with that said i loooooved the hints for the next fated mate pair in the series and i can’t wait to see what book 4 brings. this series is definitely my guilt-free pleasure!! thank stephanie for another amazing book!!

I love this series and this book was just as addictive as the first two. I admit to being annoyed that Lukas and Blaire were separated again, but that's really to be expected because of actions and interferences via Blaine’s mysterious background. I’m happy withthe way things are for now but know we’ll be back again , however really excited for the next book, so looking forward to another certain couples tale. I’m here for it and wait with bated breath. Highly recommended

I throughly enjoyed this third installment to the Blackthorn Saga. I was completely drawn into the plot and how it sets up the conflict for the rest of the series, literally I could not but the book down because I was so invested in the story.

I did feel that the romance portion of this book was pretty similar to the second book, like the couple had a lot of the same issues that they were working on but nothing new was really brought up in the respective arguments so it felt repetitive. That being said I CANNOT wait for the next book in the series.

This books had lots of twists that kept me engrossed. I still need a Riley in my life and I love the close circle of friends that Blaire has acquired. This book had an ending that leads me to believe there will be another one and I hope there is! I need to know what happened to that one person!

This is better than the second book, however I felt like it was a repeat of the second book. The plot was almost the same because Blaire was taken away from Lukas for a lengthy period of time and their bond suffered. I do think that it was better written than the second book to this series in the sense that it didn't seem like the author was rewritten the same thing over and over again.

Once again, I do like how the author paces things in the book, I didn't feel like I was stuck in one spot for a long period of time. I also like how she was able to tie the first three books together for Blaire and Lukas and tell their story. Of course, as soon as this book ended I went right for the next book in this series (I really think this author's writing style is addicting).

We're back at the Blackthorn Academy! So much happened since the first book that I truly didn't know where the third would take me. I was surprised that Lukas and Blaire were separated again, and that's partially why I rated it a 4-star instead of 5. I know it was under different circumstances than the second book, but it felt a little too familiar of a premise. It did give our main characters some time to sort through their differences, but with the introduction of the new characters Layla and Dom I was almost rooting for our MCs to just call it quits and try to date other people.

Or maybe I just thought Dom was a super likable character and thought Blaire deserved that after all the bad things she has to go through in this book. I'm interested to see what will happen with all of the information she's unlocked now.

Also, Riley and Seth absolutely need their own book and story premise because I'm obsessed with them.

Tropes: Fated mates, slow burn, vampire acadamy, witches, found family, world building

Rating: 4/5⭐️
Spice: 1/5 🌶️
Pov: third person of both main characters

From the first book till this one (the third installment) of the Blackthorn Saga, i was immensely invested! The story, the characters and the world were so interesting and very different from books what i've been reading this past months. So many times i thought i knew what was gonna happen, but i was so wrong! It kept me surprised everytime, especially the choices Lukas made and his character devolopement, he grew immensely. And how strong Blair was even she literally went through hell!

But this book is not the end, this was only the third one in the series. I am so excited for the next book, like i need it right now. But everyone please go read this book!

I was in a slump, but I had to see where Blaire and Lucas ended up. I was not happy they got separated yet again, but I can't say I would have done it differently

4.5 stars! Blaire and Lukas just can’t catch a break! Just as they’re reunited at the end of the second book, they find themselves separated yet again, this time more specific at the hands of the shady Order that runs Blackthorn Academy. Unfortunately, it’s also somewhat voluntary on Blaire’s part, due to manipulation by the Order, and her deep desire to protect Lukas from an even darker fate.

It’s not often that having the main characters separated for good chunks of two books would actually end up working so well for not only the characters, but also the story. Blaire and Lukas have been battling with so many things, both personally and together, as they try to be with each other as a Korenna pair (fated mates). Between the jealousy and Lukas’ need to protect and desire to have Blaire become Vasirian, their relationship has most definitely faced an uphill battle. But what makes this work so well, is that when they’re separated, both Blaire and Lukas find ways to work through their inner struggles and demons in their own ways, sometimes with help from unexpected sources. And when they do finally reunite, they are able to find each other so much easier, past all the pain and trauma.

On top of all that, we have the story of the shady Order, what they want to do with Blaire, and the mysterious prophecy that Blaire and Lukas, but especially Blaire, seem to be at the center of. There are some very interesting twists and turns, and more than a few moments of WTF. All the while, we have great character dynamics, a wonderful found family, and some strong character growth - most especially on the part of Lukas. And where we end up, we have a very satisfying HFN, and an equally compelling story to continue past the third book in the series. I’m very much looking forward to more in this world, especially in regards to certain characters who have become very fun to follow.

I hate the fact that I have to rate this one three stars.

Book 1 - 5⭐ - new, interesting take on the "vampire love story. Fate mates . All my favorite things

Book 2 - 4⭐ - our MCs are separated for 50%+ of the book. And when they are finally reunited they are plagued with such mistrust and emotional issues, I started to stop caring if they figured their shit out or not.

Book 3 - 3⭐ - by 15% in they're already separated again. I can't figure out why the author made them mates if she's just going to spend two of the three books in this couple's arc with the main characters, not even with each other. When I saw them get separated again before we even hit the 20% mark, I really stopped caring. And then to introduce a new 'friend' to each of them. I agree with other reviewers in saying I started rooting for our pair to just call it quits and be done with each other because they weren't spending time together and when they dolid they spent most of that time arguing or trying to solve the other person's emotional issues and that just falls flat. It's hard to root for a happily ever after when you don't get to see the characters together. I was super proud of all the growth both of them had, but ugh.

And to make it worse, I've read book four, before I read this as I was approved for an arc, and you get one-on-one time with that couple throughout the whole book. Do they have their issues? Yeah, but they don't spend what basically equivalates to the length of an entire one of these books apart

If there is another book in this series. I'll probably read it, but I'm really disappointed with this part.

Awesome book. It was a page turner. And the suspense was dark. I was hooked and I couldn't put this book down.I really enjoyed this book. I was at the edge of my seat. A lot of magical disappeared was going with these characters . But theses Vasirian student as they see a human girl name Korrena was a human girl who has a strange mark on her neck. It happen at this academy called blackthorn and these witches and others paranormal vampires didn't like the humans but they were treated differently then others students. But it seem like she was special human girl. And there were so much lies , betrayal, and action packed of drama.Did she have some kind of power that she never knew about. Was she the one to save the world and the school. I highly recommend this book. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Trina Jones

Sanguine Prophecy by Stephanie Denne
Blackthorn Saga #3
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

I truly love the bond that Blaire has with her friends and Lukas and the devotion amongst them all to keep each other safe. This book really highlights the importance of found family, while also still nurturing those inner desires and importance of a nuclear family. As always, I love Stephanie’s mental health touches and how she always shines light on the impact traumas and childhood experiences have in shaping our adulthood, predominantly relationship building!

On another note, Stephanie PLEASE give Blaire a break!! 🤣 My poor girl has been fighting for her life from the jump! But with that said, I love Blaire’s drive, her fight to take back her life after always having everything chosen for her and never being given options truly warmed me. I’m truly the biggest Lukas and Blaire Stan!!!!!!

This book was overall good, although im sad it’s yet another book in the series where Blaire & Lukas aren’t together the whole time. With that being said, I liked the different perspectives and getting character growth from Lukas the MMC. I loved the addition of Dom to help comfort Blaire during the hard times. I also loved the addition of Ciro & the comforting coconut smell ◡̈
I had a lot of my questions answered but I still want to learn more about the bloodline and hopefully get to see more change in Blaire.
I am super excited about all the subtle hints and actions made by Seth & Riley and are OVERJOYED they get their own book as the next in the series. Can’t wait to read it and find out more about their relationship… ◡̈

I have read this book and giving my honest review.
Another book in this series. It was awesome.
Enjoyed from beginning to the very end.
The last few chapters had me engrossed and excited. Oh my twists turns, sexy, tears. You were with them every step.
I am not spoiling but you will have to read this for yourself. I know you won’t be disappointed, it is so gripping. That’s all I can tell you. You are left on a cliffhanger.
Hope you enjoy as much as I did.
Cannot wait to see what happens next.

Again I couldn’t put the dang book down to the point I stayed up till 5am one day before work. I love seeing the characters and their friendship growing. Sometimes it’s just nice to dive into a book and read because it takes away everything else going on in life. Even through all the things they went through it never bothered me not once I always tell myself it’s a book and that’s how I read everything. I don’t shy away from triggers and they don’t bother me. I have continuously shared the books I’ve read with friends to urge them to read. I love finishing new authors to become obsessed with their writing.

This book was a great way to carry on the series. The drama of what is so special about "The" human's blood continues. The only difference this time is that you find out what is special about it.

The character growth in this book the MMC goes through is great.

I can't wait to see what happens with some side characters as this series continues.

Loved this book!!!!
And I also enjoyed reading it too.
It is a spicy read too🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Loved the romance between Lukas and Blaire 💗💗💗💗 This book had a lot of twists and turns that kept me engrossed in the book. Loved the close circle of friends they both had in this book 📖
I hated how Blaire was being treated and the separation between them was awful too.
And I hated what the Order was doing to Blaire. 😡😡😡
I am really loving this series
But I loved how they all got together to get her back. And it was a sad book and happy book too because I was on an emotional roller coaster though this book.
And I couldn’t put this down either and I can’t wait to read the 4th book of this series.

Better than book 2 but not by much. This really didn’t need to be almost 600 pages. Length of length’s sake and not much else. Skipped through the last half of the book because it just dragged.
Blaire is less annoying in this one.
Finished the book because I really hate to DNF, but will not be reading the next book.

Ok of the 3 books, this one has been my least favorite mostly because Blaire and Lukas are kept apart for almost the entirety of the book and that’s a trope I don’t love. I also feel like the story is getting a bit convoluted but all of this won’t stop me from picking up the next one!

The amount of feelings I had while reading this book. It’s the first book I’ve read from beginning to end in one sitting in such a long time. If it wasn’t so late I would be picking the next one up right now. The way everyone’s emotions are worked through and rationalized are just top tier.

amazing

I have not been able to put these down! I just love it. I normally stay away from vampire type books but the romance is almost secondary to the actual story here. Yes it’s spicy and in your face but there is so much else going on you don’t notice
