An incredible book that not only parents and parents-to-be should read, but anyone working with kids. This book points out the importance of understanding that every child is born with with their own unique temperament, activity level, attention span, and other ways of reacting and engaging with their surroundings. We must learn to fully understand each child for who they are, empowering them rather than controlling them as they grow into adults who so too empower those around them. This book puts an amazing spiritual spin on the science of guiding children's behavior, helping them be the best people they can be, teaching them to truly loving themselves for who they are, and therefore making the world a better, more peaceful place for generations to come. As someone who has been working with kids since I was a kid, and also enduring emotional turmoil due to my own extreme sensitivities as a child, this book totally resonated with me. I plan to have it on hand at ALL times as I continue to guide the children I coach in the gymnastics world and especially as I begin my own journey through parenthood. A book I know I will return to again and again...and again!
