Cassidy and the Rainy River Rescue

Rate this book
In her debut book, Cassidy tries to help round up the cattle when they get loose, though the little pony doesn't quite know how. But it's Cassidy who notices one calf has gone missing from the herd and is stuck in the river! Can Cassidy help save the day?

Little ones will love hearing this story as a narrator reads to them, page by page. And if she's nearby, the Cassidy Story Buddy® stuffed animal will respond when you read key phrases from the story.

This is a Hallmark book that is designed to be read with the toy. I do not have the toy, so I don't know how well it works. The story itself is pretty good. I liked the fact that the girl's face was hidden, so the reader (and I guess toy owner) could put herself in there. It's great that Cassidy was a mare.

Basic Plot: Cassidy the pony has a gentle style, but can still save a calf in trouble!

This was a cute freebie I picked up for my Nook. My son loves horses, so naturally, it was a big hit. The art was good, the message was good, and it was overall a story I wouldn't have minded paying for, so it was a bonus that it was free. Apparently, the story goes along with a toy that will actually respond if you read the story with the toy. We don't have the toy, so obviously that was something we missed, but it's not vital to understanding the story. Well worth the download!

This picture book would be a good read for primary grades on 'western day' and would provide an opportunity to explore vocabulary some children would not be familiar with.

Fantastic art and message

I love this book! It has a great message - Cassidy doesn't want to be rough and tough to bring in the cows and eventually she learns that her calm nature can be a great help. I think the illustrations are beautiful! And I love the different cowboy terms/phrases thrown in. Reading it helped my 3yr old daughter calm down and go down for her nap.

Cute

This was short but sweet. A true story about how being little can be a huge help when it counts!

This was a cute book about a pony named Cassidy. It was very short, but I believe there are other Cassidy books. A cute book to read to children. 3 stars because I liked it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this and as I was reading it Cassidy put me in the mind frame of Applejack from My Little Pony. I know my daughter will enjoy this and I cannot wait for this to become one of her favorite stories.

Cute story for young children

This book is intended to go with a Cassidy (plush horse) from Hallmark, but the toy isn't necessary for the story. The story is simple, and good for when children are first starting to read. Nothing super amazing, but it is an enjoyable short story.
