Getting pregnant with a super-hot slice of womanising, Californian man-cake was not the plan when Tilly left London for her much anticipated summer holiday in beautiful Los Angeles. Luke Summers is the fun-loving, crazy-sexy personal fitness instructor who drives Tilly wild and unknowingly gave her this huge, unexpected gift.
As things heat up again during a Christmas trip to Aspen, will Tilly be brave enough to tell 'daddy' the good news? Or will their raw passion and wild bedroom antics keep her from admitting the truth?
~2.5 stars~ (I'm going to round this up to 3 stars on Amazon since it was graciously offered as a freebie)
*Spoilers included in this rant/review)*
This book had an overall 4.8 review on Amazon so I was eager to give it a try. I'm sad to say, I was disappointed. I didn’t care for this book or the characters. It starts off with the heroine being quite a few months pregnant, but she hasn’t told anyone. She goes on a trip with all of her friends, and her old f**k buddy/baby daddy. they will all be together for the holidays. There were a couple of reasons that made me dislike this book. First off, she didn’t tell the hero she was pregnant for the longest time. It seemed like they were constantly having sex and little else. Which normally I like, but in this read, it just didn’t work for me. She continually kept avoiding telling him (and all of her friends) that she was carrying his child. I think it was well past the 60% when she finally fesses up. And then the hero.... .dear lord. He was weak. He accepts it at first, even seems happy, and then bails, saying they deserve better. His reasoning (when finally revealed) I found to be lame. The heroine comes across as a doormat in my opinion. Very weak and insecure. The hero almost seemed like he had split personalities. He was constantly going from hot to cold, and she was always just there waiting with open arms, or even running after him.
Needless to say, this won't be a series I continue.
I would give this 10 shiny, sparkly, and polished stars if I could!
AMAZ-BALLS!! Flipping AMAZ-BALLS! Dani, you have out done yourself. Sexy Summers is just as good as Sexy Berkeley if not better. This book was well worth the wait. Luke and Tilly's story was just so deliciously good. I was smiling throughout most of the book and cried like a baby at other parts. I am so in love with Luke and Til because they remind me of me and my husband really. Tilly is a girl after my own heart, a cheeky smart ass with a little bit of a naughty side to her. I loved it. Luke is the male version of her and their banter back in forth is very refreshing and made my heart smile, I could just not get enough of their story. The Sexy series is so great, Dani makes it so easy to fall in love with her characters. That is what a book is supposed to do, draw you into its world and she does an excellent job accomplishing that. I feel like I know the whole Sexy Crew and I can't wait to read Claire and Oliver's story. Cheers Dani to another fabulous book and to many more to come!
Some like it hot some like it cold-Sexy Summers is hot... now you've been told. Sexy Summers picks up where Sexy Berkley leaves off but now the focus has shifted from Bea and Daniel to their friends Luke Summers and Tilly Burton. Like Bea and Daniel, Tilly and Luke are fun loving, adventurous people struggling to reconcile their emotions with their actions. Tilly has said she prefers the "bad boy" type under the guise of having fun without commitment. Luke is all for fun and games without commitment so the two of them continue their frolicking while denying their growing feelings for each other. As the story goes on. Luke shows himself to be both a bad boy and a good boy where it counts. Like Bea, Tilly gets her prize and we see that it is not always opposites that attract. Luke and Tilly speak the same language, they laugh where others may cringe. In the end we have shared laughs, we have shared tears and have grown to accept the differences of expression. Oh, and we get to visit with Bea and Daniel a bit longer. This is a well written story from a relatively new author. Thanks for giving us a complete story and not another "hanger ".
After eagerly awaiting this second book in the series, I couldn't wait to begin. I'm glad I got everything I needed to done before I started as I literally couldn't put it down. I had to know what happened next!! There were times I was laughing out loud but more where I couldn't see through my tears and had to go off for a min to compose myself so that I could begin again! Having been in Tilly's situation myself, I could so feel every emotion she went through. Beautifully written, taking the reader on an emotional roller coaster of a journey. I absolutely loved this book and the fact that it's a complete story, not ending with a cliff hanger. Am only sorry that it finished and I now have to wait for book three. Well done Dani Lovell, another great book.
London resident Tilly Burton took a little “holiday” to the US to accompany her friend, Bea who met the man of her dreams in Bea’s book Sexy Berkley. While in California Tilly hooked up with Daniel’s best friend, Luke Summers, and they accidentally produced a little “vacation memorabilia.” But Tilly doesn’t see Luke as the settling down kind of guy. She’s not the settling down kind of girl herself but she’s starting to realize her life’s about to change.
Now an Aspen get-together for the winter holidays reunites Tilly and Luke. Luke is all ready to resume another no strings attached winter fling, but first Tillie has something to tell him.
If you are looking for a hot winter afternoon read, this adorable super sexy story is most definitely one to choose!
“I’m f*cking you all vacation baby and you’re going to love it so much, you’ll want to take me home afterwards.”
Luke or “Lukey” is one hot, dirt-talking, horny guy. Tilly is his cute, independent match. Together they have amazing chemistry that produces plenty of hot, exciting, snowy sex and adorable, dirty banter! Their encounters are sizzling and sweet at the same time. For the most part this is a fun, light-hearted read but the turning point will yank at your heartstrings until the duo gets their HEA.
Can Tilly avoid the ski slopes without arising suspicion among her friends? In the meantime can Tilly finally see past her lust haze for Luke to tell him about their little ride-along? Will Luke be up for the daddy role?
While Sexy Summers is part of a Sexy series, it can easily be read as a stand-alone as each book features a different couple among this group of friends. And if you want to make your own holiday a little naughtier this year, this is one to put on your wish list.
Sexy Summers by Dani Lovell is a great follow-up book in the Sexy Series.
We met both Luke and Tilly in Sexy Berkeley and at the end of the first book, we learned that what started as a sexy holiday may have turned into a life changing event. Fast forwarding a few months we start the second book. Following Daniel and Bea back to the states, Tilly joins Clare and Oliver for a Christmas Holiday and Aspen.
Luke and Tilly have some serious issues to discuss, but Tilly hides the truth from Luke. I love the Tilly and Luke love story, but in my opinion, she shouldn’t have kept the secret for as long as she did, and to be honest, not sure if he could have missed the “bump” while they were busy having sex. Everywhere.
Sex in the kitchen, on the balcony, in the woods, and in the trunk. There may have even been a few times in the bed. The sex scenes were fun, and some were even romantic. Luke really surprised me with the different “sides” of himself. But he had things that he kept hidden away, locked inside. Both Tilly and Luke had secrets, but they just didn’t talk to each other. When they did talk and everything was looking up, Luke shocked me with how he handled the situation. I’ll leave it at that. No spoilers here.
Sexy Summers is a well-written, complete story, with a very happily ever after. The last chapter leaves us wanting more from both Clare and Oliver, though, and I can’t wait for the next book in the Sexy Series. So, grab Sexy Berkeley and Sexy Summers and spend the afternoon swooning.
I loved the second installment of this series! totally worth more than five stars!
I had my standards set pretty high for this book since I also loved Sexy Berkeley, I hoped that this would be just as great and it didn't disappoint!
This book focuses on Tilly and Luke after they met under the same circumstances as Daniel and Bea, having a holiday fling, although these two were positive it wouldn't lead anywhere; until real feelings got involved and Tilly got pregnant!
The only aspect of this book that I would've changed was the amount of time it took Tilly to tell Luke she was pregnant. Other than that, it was pretty much prefect, in my opinion.
I also enjoyed that Daniel and Bea were still frequently present throughout this story and I got a better insight towards Clare and Oliver's friendship/relationship. The last page seriously had me hooked and praying that these two would get together! I seriously can't wait until March to read more about these in the next installment of this series. Sexy Hart!! :D
I'd recommend this series to anyone, especially considering that Sexy Berkeley is currently free! Download it and get reading!
I LOVED LOVED LOVED this one! Tilly and Luke were so much more direct and honest! I laughed, I cried, I screamed! This was such a down to earth story..My 1 and only complaint (not really a complaint, I am just SOOO impatient! LOL) Why on earth did she take so long to tell him...although when she did I LOVE the way she finally did! so intimate and pure! There "sexy" banter was HILARIOUS! and Tilly How can you not LOVE Tilly! she was so dam funny! I could honestly envision her..I felt so much more "IN" this story that the last one... I truly rooted for these 2..I knew when he left it had something to do with that girl he would not talk about..She should have drug that out of him LONG before...This is another example of why leaving things left unsaid is NEVER good! I can not wait to read the next one on this series I just adore all these characters..Their genuine friendships and trust is HEARTWARMING! I do love that Bea finally got her ring! LOL...and Clare and Olly BETTER end up together LMAO! THANKS DANI it is a GREAT BOOK!!!!!
Sexy Summers does not disappoint at all. We get romance, a beautiful location and SEX!!! lots of hot Luke sex!!! The secret that Tilly is hiding has the potential to bring them closer or blow them apart. Luke is also hiding something from Tilly, something that makes him question everything he has ever believed about himself. We get to see the whole gang together again, and they do not disappoint. I am in LOVE with Oliver! He steps up in a HUGE way and I literally swooned, while reading.
Tilly and Luke's banter is absolutely the best. I laughed I cried and I loved every second of it.... Also we were given a great set up for the next installment Sexy Hart...
I have to say that some people leaving reviews have left me a bit confused...You are an author with one...yes ONE, 5 star review? OH and YOU GAVE IT TO YOURSELF..... interesting...
I abso-freaking-lutely love love this series so far!!! what an incredibly awesome story...deep, hilarious, sexy, awesome characters, and love like it's supposed to be: raw, passionate and REAL!!!! can't wait to read book three which I will be starting NOW WE, thanks to that epilogue!!! me Lovell you ate a fantastic writer and story- plot-character-scene developer!!!!
This was a good follow up to Dani Lovell first book. I found this story actually better than the first book. Loved both Tilly and Luke, they were super cute and super hot together. I did find that Tilly kept her secret way too long and a little unbelievable that she was able to do so.
I downloaded this as a freebie but I didn't realise it is only Part One. This story is a 100 pages long, I would say 90 of those were sex scenes!
Kurt is a Dom but his last sub took him to court for physical abuse and suffering. She was a willing Sub but he guessed her mother saw her whip marks and pushed her into the court action. Kurt was disappointed things didn't work out with his ex. He would like to get married and have children. That was three months ago and he hasn't had sex since so his friends set him up with a high class call girl and book him into a hotel. The call girl will arrive dressed as a maid (and be accompanied by a man to protect her).
A maid enters Kurt's room and he is instantly attracted to this curvy hispanic woman. He normally goes for tall, slim, leggy blondes but this girl is small and a size 12.
Carmen has a mystery about her and it's obvious she is on the run from something. From her internal thoughts we learn a little bit about her. She has obviously been hurt by a previous Dom who was too rough with her. She sees Kurt and is instantly attracted (book cover is misleading as he is described as a nordic blonde!) and christens him Thor in her mind.
What follows is pages and pages of descriptive hot sex with a mild BDSM theme. What was good though is that Kurt is quite a caring Dom and you sensed their connection. I really liked Kurt. Carmen is still a bit of a mystery.
Kurt asks Carmen a few questions that puzzle her and just as he asks to see her again and she says no, in walks the proper Call Girl with her male escort and everything clicks into place for Carmen and she realises Kurt had assumed she was a prostitute!
The story will continue in the next book. I liked this and look forward to reading the next part.
This is the 2nd book in the "Sexy Series" and it starts right where the 1st book ended, switching the main couple now to Luke and Tilly. You still get to read about Daniel and Bea. Actually, in this book I liked Bea better, plus that Daniel is a real Gem. He is such a good and sweet friend to Tilly. Luke and Tilly's love developes much more realistically than Daniel and Bea's Love Story. The author takes us more into the private conversations between Luke and Tilly which are fun, as those two play off of each other with entertaining and very sexual bantering. Very rarely, are a couple so evenly matched in the "Bedroom", or in their case- in the Trunk, on a Ladder, on a Balcony, etc! Yes, they are an exciting couple. I agree with some of the other reviews, that questioned how Luke could not have known Tilly's secret. Lets face it, they were doing it all the time, and yet he never noticed? Just like the first book, there are too many sex scenes that really aren't needed and maybe not even possible. Let's face it, Luke is not a 19 year old guy. My emotions were up and down with Tilly. She would be "hoot" to have as a friend. I can understand why she was scared to talk to Luke, but she was being so unfair to him. So at times, I was frustrated with her but as the book went on, I felt so badly for her. I could almost feel her pain. As for Luke, he is a "Bad Boy" you gotta love. He was fun, sexy and all male. He actually surprised me by his gentleness and sincerity with Tilly. Then out of the blue, he acted like a #1 Jerk. I am not sure, how Tilly managed all that was thrown at her. She is a stong lady with a great support group of friends. Now it is Clare's time for love. Rating 4.25.
I would have rated this a 5 if the book's editing was better. There are lots of mistakes throughout. However, the story is fabulous. Tilly is a strong independent woman who we meet in book 1. She doesn't do relationships and that works fabulously when she meets Luke (also from book 1), who also doesn't do relationships. Not only are they alike in that line of thinking, but they live in different countries, so they can hook up when Tilly visits her only family in the US or if Luke visits his friend in the UK. Their "no-strings attached" relationship is complicated when Tilly begins having more than just "fling-like" feelings for Luke. Since she never opens up in book 1, she doesn't know how Luke feels for her. They are thrown back together when they vacation with friends (who are as good as their family) for Christmas. Tilly has a secret, a leftover gift from their CA fling. She has to find the right time to try to convince the "fling loving" playboy, Luke, that she is worth the effort of a relationship for her and their baby. The journey from "single forever" to a life of togetherness is emotional and heart wrenching for them. Sometimes, 1 person has to lay it all on the line and make the extra effort, all pride aside.
I truly enjoyed Tilly and Luke's story. I love how this author ends her books with a little of the next book's main character's POV. So looking forward to Clare and Olly's story!! (At least I hope it's Olly)
Tilly doesn't do relationships. She loves sex and is happy with casual. But since meeting Luke back in September things changed. He is one sexy man that touched all her buttons, made her laugh, and got her pregnant. Not that he knows. Luke is a womanizer. A male version of Tilly. Thing is he also has feelings for her, and now that they are spending Christmas together in Aspen he will have a chance to remind her of just how great they are together. Tilly is fretting about seeing Luke again. But telling a summer fling that he is going to be a father should be done in person, no? He has the right to know and then she can move on... Sexy Summers is a great follow up to Sexy Berkeley. It is funny and sexy as hell. Our favorite characters are back and their friendship is both heart warming and uplifting. Their struggles are genuine and as in the first book, the visuals are so stimulating that I'm ready to book my trip to snowy Aspen. Can't wait for Sexy Hart.
I know this book will be totally different from Sexy Berkeley. It was actually my favorite. The hero and heroine here are very different from Bea and Daniel. I love Tilly and Luke characters, they are like what you see is what you get. The two characters meet at LA along Bea and Daniel. But there's more for them. Tilly got pregnant and keep it to herself until Christmas holiday. I just don't like the push and pull tactics of the story where Tilly will plan to tell Luke about the baby then pull away. It interchange with the sexcapades which are very hot. Then the conflict was reveal, I was looking for something. Something that makes the story more deep. Dani Lovell almost fails me again but there goes the skipping. And yay! But then there goes the twist and I was like 'ah okay, almost there but nah'. Tho I'm not complaining anymore because I just love Tilly and Luke very much. And I was looking forward for Clare and Oliver's story.
4.5 stars. The second book in the sexy series and I say its better than the first! At the end of the first book we work out that Tilly came home with more than a heavy heart after her LA fling with Luke. Forward a couple of months later to Aspen for Christmas. Wanting to tell Luke her big secret, she gets caught up in another hot and sweaty encounter with him and she can't get enough. Scared to lose him as she falls harder for him, she continues to hide the truth. The steam factor in this book is sizzling! Luke at times was too perfect, however with drama towards the end I was a little mad and upset with him, thinking his reasons were pretty drastic! That being said, I can't wait for the next book!
Wow just finished this book and it was bloody hot. Ok so firstly if you're not into a lot of sex this isn't for you. Tilly and Luke go at it whenever and wherever they are. It's not til you get about 70% in that things deepen but regardless of that their romance heats up everything and everyone around them. Initially I thought Tilly was being a bit dramatic especially when trying to hide her condition but her fear is what drove her actions. Luke hadn't given her any reason to think he would support her but the twist will leave you mind warped lol. The plot, writing, characters and ending were great. We get to see a glimpse of the next book which I love. The angst is high, the sex is plentiful but the romance is sweet. Would recommend as I couldn't put it down.
Loved the 1st book but this was even better IMO!!! This for me was so much more angst filled and I really struggled to pit it down.. If I am being honest, even tho I am all about the steam factor.. The frequency maybe got a bit much on a few occasions, however these were the characters identities so not worth knocking of any stars for!!! Really enjoyable read and love how Dani ends her book with an epilogue introducing the next story.. What a tease Dani ;) I look forward to Clare and Oliver's story in 2014.. Until then, get reading this brilliant new author if u enjoy contemporary romance with sexy men and lots of steam :)
Wow Dani you have put some big surprises out there. I knew the minute I picked up SB that I was in for a treat I loved that book now I have the pleasure of raving about two books. SS is so hot and funny and emotional all in one great package. If you love a book that makes you hot for a man while your just reading this is it because Dani has put her all it to this. I cried and laughed them I cried I worried and launched wanted for them and then cried for them again. I like many others couldn't put these two books down, I read each of them in one day that's how amazing they were. I'm so up for March 2014 to get here.
Dani you have outdone yourself. I would never have thought Sexy Summers would outrank Sexy Berkeley, but wow it did! I felt every single emotion that Tilly & Luke felt. I love these characters, love the book & am certain that I will love the next one with Oliver & Clare. I am truly looking forward to March! I also can forsee another book in the series with Alexia & her dream man! Thank you, thank you for the entertainment! My only complaint was the book was too short....LOL! I feel like these characters are a part of me now! Well done lady, well done!!!
I absolutely loved this book. The characters are well thought out and loveable. They are HOT together. I love that they are both so unsure of the other but still go for it. I want Luke. The chemistry between them just leaps off the oages. Luke is so sweet and funny. The sex scenes were freakin hotter than hot. Dani has done it again.. She made me laugh out loud, yell at my kindle, and cried bucketfuls. I can't wait for Sexy Hart to come out. But until then i will just re read Sexy Berkeley and Sexy Summers.
5+ starts. Dani Lovell, you did it again! I absolutely loved it! Tilly: she was awesome. Stong, funny, independent woman. And when she fell in love, she let go. Lukey: funny, lives life to the fullest. At first I thought he was kinda stupid, then I fell in love with him (who wouldn't), then I waited for the ball to drop & it sure did, then I hated him, but not for long ;) These two were made for each other. Can't wait to see what you have in store for Clare & Olly.
I love love love this book. It is as amazing as the first one. There is so much emotion, so much fun, tears, cheers and love. Dani Lovell has a wonderful talent to bring you right into the story. I absolutely did not want to put this book down until the last page and then I wanted it to continue. I can't wait until the #3 book comes out. I enjoy visiting with these friends and family, as you get to see where others are on their journey in each book!! :)
Have you ever had the most amazing dessert that you take little bites to savor every moment of it...that's this book. I read each word as if it was each bite because I couldn't get enough of the story. The romance between Luke snd Tilly is hot, erotic, sweet, yet breath taking. The love that grows and how it presents itself warms the heart and soul. I thought Sexy Berkeley was great but there is no comparison this is one if my favorite books.
This was just WHOA!! just bloody hot and awesome. There was a lot of "holy shit" moments and Luke and Daniel are just mouth watering sexy men. Ok I felt bad for Tilly because she taught something was wrong with her but she was just constipated and when Luke made her leave the bathroom door open to do number 2 , now that was funny!! And wow the secret that Tilly has was a major Hello moment! Thank you for a another great book and I can not wait for the next one!!
Totally blown away that I can cry like that while reading a book! Luke and Tilly's story has been building and something very special brings them back together. Is Luke ready? Is Tilly ready to carry on without him? True to form, Luke loves her and once he finds out "their" secret...oh dear, bring on the tears. Amazing bit of writing! I can't wait to see where Claire and Oliver take their story next.
Awesome book !!! Even with hubby laughing at me as he said "I cant believe your crying over a book" LOL.
I love that the author brought in the characters from the 1st book. I love the chemistry between Luke & Tilly but I think my favorite is now Oliver...... It is completely awesome the way he steps up for one of his best friends !!!
Cant wait for the 3rd book..... Come on March 2014... get here quick please .... LOL
I had all ready started reading this one before I finished the first book. I liked this one a little better, but the writing is horribly disjointed. All three books could flow SO much better if they were scrutinized more. And the dialogue is so repetitive and the situations are so corny.
That being said, there was progress from SB to SS, and I'm interested in seeing growth next year with installment 3.
