This book was absolutely wonderful! If you're craving a cozy Christian Christmas historical romance that wraps you in warmth and joy in just a few pages, this is the one. It's like stepping into a vintage Christmas wonderland, filled with hand-stitched dolls, homemade quilts, and a charming toy shop. I could almost taste the Thanksgiving meal, feel the snow melting on my tongue, and hear the Christmas traditions coming to life. The kindness and patience of the characters melted my heart. And the gentle faith woven throughout the story added the perfect touch to the story. Even in just a few short pages, I found myself full of emotion as the characters worked through their grief and prayed for a future.

Don't just buy this as an ebook. Grab a physical copy. You will want to hold in your hands by the fireplace, sipping hot cocoa with a slice of apple pie! Not to mention... this book even includes recipes in the end!

In this heartwarming tale, widower Dan decides it’s time to hire help in his late wife’s toy shop, a secondhand store where toys are sold for cheap or given away to those in need. As a photographer, he’s struggling to keep the shop running, so he hires Bev, a widow and single mother (to Amy) in need of work. They’re both drawn to each other, but neither is ready to open their hearts again. When Bev discovers, Dan has been secretly helping her financially. She’s upset, and when a potential romance with another woman (Dan's neighbor) is brought to her attention.. it only deepens her need for space. He is developing feelings for her but refuses to admit them, worried that it'll make him forget about his late wife. Can these two allow each other to mend their broken hearts? Can they allow themselves to love again? Or will fear keep them apart?

A quote I LOVED in this book that Dan shared with Bev: "Worry is the darkroom in which negatives can develop". *** he's a photographer

WWII has ended, and there is hope in the in the air this Christmas season. But for Bev Miller, she is doing her best to provide for her young daughter after her husband died at Pearl Harbor. When she loses her job to a returning soldier, she is fortunate to find a job at "Twice Loved", a used toy store. Dan Fisher has kept the store open in memory of his wife who died a couple years earlier. Can Bev and Dan find joy and faith in true meaning of Christmas?
A sweet novella, but I felt the story was a bit rushed.

Bev Winters has just lost her job at Bethlehem Steel since the men who just fought in World War Two were going to return to their normal jobs. Bev lost her husband Fred to the war. With her small child Amy at home Bev had no choice but to look for a new job to support them. She came across an add looking for help at Twice Loved a used toy store. Even though she worried someone may have filled the position she headed there anyway.

Dan Fisher had lost his wife Darcy years ago however his grief encapsulates him. He tried to run his photography studio and Darcys toy store Twice Loved however he had trouble running two businesses he needed help before the holidays. With Leona trying to date him when he has no interest in a non-Christian.

Bev and Dan learn to grow together as people that have been loved before. He becomes kinder with charitable things to give Bev. He gifts a wreath, a tree for christmas, as well as paying $20 of her rent each month so she can afford her apartment. Can two people be willing to love again at Christmas Time? Will Dan and Bev be Twice Loved as the toy shops name?

I have read a lot of books from this author but this is one of the first novels I have read that was not about the Amish. I think she did a good job.

This book takes place right after WW2. A widow raising her young daughter loses her job due to the man who once filled the position returning back from the war. She sees an ad in the local newspaper about a position at a toy store names Twice Loved. Twice Loved is ran by a man names Dan. Dan promised his late wife that he would keep her business running. Dan also has his own business and is struggling to keep them both running on his own.
They realize they have feelings for each other but will Dan's neighbor who is interested in him also keep them apart? Will the young widow be able to set her pride aside and accept Dan's help?

It was a nice short and light Christmas novel.

This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. It was a quick read, only took me a few hours to get through it. Definitely a sweet story, taking place after WW2. Both Dan and Bev have lost their spouses and find themselves together as boss and employee at Dan's second hand shop, Twice Loved. A special project of his wife's that he agreed to continue after she passed away.
Both Dan and Bev are still grieving, but are strong and lean on the Lord. I loved seeing their relationship evolve and how he encourages her to lay down her worry and learn to trust Jesus more and lean on others as well as she has trouble accepting help. loved the book, just wish it was longer

This is a really sweet book and it reminds us that things happen in God's time and way.

Dan was nice and made his wife a promise that he would keep the toy store running after her death. Bev's husband died and she needs this job. I found her a little blunt at times. I enjoyed watching their romance unfold.

The story was gentle and an easy evening read. The wartime recipes at the end were fun I was able to adapt them to my dietary restrictions and make a few!

Short, sweet, and to the point. Bev, a widow with a young daughter,
is hired to work in a used toy store. It is owned by Dan, a lonely
widower. The store had been run by his deceased wife. They develop
a relationship and fall in love.
