I liked this book because it told me a lot of things about LeBron that I had never known. It told a lot about his school and his life before the NBA too. Overall it was well written and the author does a good job of explaining things.
The book “Lebron James” by Hal Marcovitz is about a man, Lebron James who had a troublesome life. Forced to live in a delinquency neighborhood in Akron, Ohio. He was a bad student who often skipped school, but, when James recognized sports, he soon became the star athlete in Ohio. He lead his school team to three state basketball championships in for years, then engaged in the NBA draft. James was soon picked up by the Cleveland Cavaliers, there choice soon paid off when Lebron had won Rookie of the year. He lead the Cavaliers to the playoffs for the first time in eight years. Today Lebron has became a worldwide star, and is considered among the highest players in the NBA. I liked the book Lebron James because I’m interested in basketball. I am always watching it whenever it’s on TV, and I even play basketball. My opinion is when you’re in to a hobby, you seem to like everything about it, reading about it, watching it, and even playing it. However, I do think that some things that are related to basketball are uninteresting to me. I think the author did a good job writing this book. I also learned something valuable about this book, it’s to never give up on your dreams. “Lebron would be dunking in his diaper, dunking all over that rim.” (Terry James, 15) even though James had a rough time in the begging of his life, he stuck through it, and found a way to be happy and live his dream of playing basketball. I would give this book a 3.5. My reasoning for rating this book a 3.5 is because I though it was a good and interesting book, but, it wasn’t the best book I’ve ever read. Some people could rate it differently depending on if they like to read about basketball. Since I’m interested in the topic, I find it quite enjoyable to read, but, for someone who doesn’t like basketball and read this book, they could give it a 2.
