1990's Bad Girl comics gets a bad reputation. You either love or hate the over the top violence, scantily dressed women, blood & gore with these anti-heroes. I fall into the love category. Some of these comics are pure enjoyable schlocky fun.
While the large comic book companies would dip their toes into the anti-hero genre with characters like Catwoman, Huntress, Harley Quinn, Punisher, Deadpool, and even Batman the London Night company specialized in it. Among their most popular characters are Razor, Poizon, and Stryke.
The plot in this trade is the typical revenge story mixed with family issues. It is not a ground breaking or even a unique story, but it delivers it is an enjoyable package.
The line art is good; a bit more detail on some of the faces would have made It nicer. It is in the typical 1990s style. But what stands out is the excellent coloring and inking, especially in the first couple of chapters. The characters are in eye catching big and bold colors that is a great contrast with the dark ink lines and shadows. The backgrounds are a mixed bag. Some panels use computer generated backgrounds that look very awkward against the hand drawn characters.
Overall, this book is a fun read that will appease the bad girl art fans.
Razor goes head to head with her sister, Stryke in a fight to the death. Cover to cover action with interesting characters and awesome art. Highly recommended.
