This novel is in 3 parts with the same characters appearing in each. We follow our main character who is a hunting guide in the time of the Dinosaurs. Because of time travel he is able to take wealthy clients to the time of the dinosaurs to hunt the animals. What we get is very little dinosaur action and alot of drama between our characters instead. The hunting aspect just revolves around them shooting a dinosaur from far away. Thats it, no attacks (bar one) on humans. No action whatsover really.

This book suffers one fatal flaw....its BORING!

This is a good group of adventure stories with the familiar theme of time travel and dinosaur hunting. It's a re-packaging of much of an earlier book, Time Safari, and appears to me to be an attempt on the part of the publisher to cash in on the Jurassic Park film's success. Nonetheless, the Vickers stories are quite enjoyable and are great entertainment; Drake is almost always a reliable read.

Disjointed in three parts that each feel they could’ve been a full novel. Part 1 could’ve been totally excised as what was teased is never followed up.

I was hoping for something along the lines of Jurassic Park (as the title font clearly imitates), but this was mostly about dinosaur big-game hunting. That should be fun in its own way, but I found it surprisingly dull.

The story, the characters, and the writing were all just okay. I struggled to keep my attention and found myself rereading passages because I just started unintentionally skimming to something of interest.

If you’re a huge dino fan, you might get more out of it but I can’t recommend it to anyone else.

Ugh...I got this book back in 1997 when I was 11 years old. I finally got around to reading it this year. So disappointing, “women can’t shoot, oh wait they can!” “All Texans are gun toting assholes that can’t shoot for shit and empty the mag everytime!” “Mankind caused the extinction of the dinosaurs through time travel!” I know this book was written to capitalize on the Jurassic Park Dino craze of the 90s, but damn. Do not read, I would give it negative stars if possible.
