Hotaru et ses amis se mettent à la recherche de Mizuki, se disant qu'elle est sans doute "l'enveloppe corporelle" de celle qu'ils appellent Ève. Ils découvrent ainsi que la jeune fille est plongée dans un profond coma et décident de lui rendre visite à l'hôpital. C'est là que, pensant rencontrer Adam, ils tombent sur Tomoki, qui se présente comme le petit ami de Mizuki. Ce n'est que plus tard qu'ils en apprennent plus sur Adam : le jeune homme serait un chanteur anglais décédé dix-neuf ans plus tôt… De son côté, Ève retrouve peu à peu des bribes de mémoire qui ne semblent pas lui appartenir. Le mystère s'épaissit…

Ai Yazawa (Japanese: 矢沢あい, Yazawa Ai) is a Japanese manga author and illustrator. Her pen name comes from singer Eikichi Yazawa, of whom she is a fan.
Yazawa started her comics career in 1985. She specialises in shojo manga (girls' comics). Most of her works have been serialised in the magazines 'Ribon', 'Cookie' and 'Zipper'.
Yazawa's stories focus on young, often rebellious women and their relationships. The characters are always very stylish, and Yazawa herself is known for her sense of fashion. (She even attended a fashion school for some time after high school.)
Among her most famous manga are Tenshi Nanka Ja Nai (I'm No Angel, 1992–1995), Neighborhood Story (1995-1998), Paradise Kiss (1999-2004), and Nana (2000-2009), the latter awarded a Shogakukan Manga Award in 2003. Some of these works have been adapted into anime and live action movies.

It's getting weirder and more mysterious. I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Up until now I was used to drama and everyday stuff (and I liked them all. She knows what she's doing) from the creator but this whimsical story is so well done and refreshing.

The mystery deepens, and it's excellent stuff. The four kids are all so likeable and well-developed, and this has hooked me not just due to the mystery and storytelling aspects, but also because I genuinely feel a connection to the characters and want to see how their individual stories unfold. Jumping right into the final volume!

Après un premier tome étrange qui repoussait les limites de la réalité pour virer par moments dans l’onirisme, cette suite continue dans l’enquête menée par Hotaru, accompagnée de Sae, Masaki et Tetsu.

En s’attachant aux recherches des collégiens sur la véritable identité d’Eve, on apprend énormément de choses.
Même si on savait déjà qui était vraiment Eve, les personnages le découvrent eux aussi et n’arrêtent pas leurs investigations puisqu’ils veulent aussi en apprendre plus sur Adam.

Et on entre là dans de véritables révélations puisque ce qu’ils découvrent est vraiment surprenant et entraîne l’histoire dans une autre direction.
L’amour tient toujours une place importante mais l’histoire de Mizuki cache aussi tout autre chose de bien plus fantastique et plus complexe que ça à quoi on peut s’attendre au départ.

L’histoire est soutenue par un graphisme toujours aussi réussi et je trouve que cette série est bien trop oubliée dans la liste des œuvres de Ai Yazawa.

Un second tome onirique qui nous transporte dans une enquête, voire même une chasse aux fantômes. Mais qui est réellement Ève/Mizuki/Sayaka, et pourquoi sont-elles liées ? J’espère le découvrir dans le troisième et dernier tome avec nos quatre chers écoliers, bien déterminés à résoudre ce mystère

The kids were able to unveiled who Eve actually is but things got a bit complicated that it was expected. I still love the dynamic between the 4 friends. The humor always come at the right time.

Hotaru jest jeszcze uczennicą podstawówki. Trochę nieśmiała dziewczynka ulega poważnemu wypadkowi i poznajemy ją w momencie, kiedy ma opuszczać szpital. Akurat tak się składa, że udaje jej się wyzdrowieć jeszcze przed rozpoczęciem szkoły i nowej klasy. Dziewczynka ma nawracające sny dotyczące kobiety w białej zwiewnej sukience i jej kotka, Luny. We śnie kobieta nie może wydostać się z ogrodzonej posesji, a w powietrzu unoszą się pióra oraz fantastyczna melancholijna muzyka. W rzeczywistości kotek Hotaru zaginął w dzień wypadku i dwa ostatnie dnie wolnego od szkoły dziewczynka spędza na szukaniu go. Tak trafia do domu, w którym spotyka Mizuki, opiekującej się do tej pory Luną. Z pomocą przyjaciół Hotaru postanawia pomóc płaczącej dziewczynie, którą nazwała Ewą i dowiedzieć się, dlaczego nie może ona opuścić domu.

Across time and space, ghosts, guys, and girls fight for love through longing, but not everything works out in the end. This was not what I expected at all, but it was everything I could have wanted from a ghost story. Beginning with a truly melodramatic tale, and ending in a way that makes you feel emotionally satisfied yet still a little adrift is just what I needed. The whole reincarnation stuff got a little iffy in the end and that's why I'm giving it a 4 star, but other than that this was a great mystery story with Ai Yazawa's beautiful art and poetic writing hitting you in the heart right when it needed to. I loved the imagery regarding the waning moon and how for those who died during it, they'll never get to see it become it's beautiful full self again. It's the kind of dramatic and on the nose poetics I love from her work.

Ai yazawa construit vraiment sa légende, j'ai tout aimé évidement. et je suis encore étonné de voir à quel point elle arrive à faire ressentir une musique/mélodie, à travers seulement des images (alors que c'est littéralement le truc le plus complexe à faire ressentir selon moi en manga).

in reality adam is dead, 20 years ago, so mizuki didn’t meet him in real life, but in a way, she did..
