Natural Soapmaking

Rate this book
“Soap is...one of the better crafts to consider as gifts...supplies directions for more than 20 different kinds of hand-milled soap, an easier process than starting from lye...instructions extend to bath oils and salts and to packaging, labeling, and creating a munificence of fragrance. Step-by-step descriptions are boldly illustrated with color photographs. Who could resist all-natural camomile oatmeal soap or effervescent all-natural champagne bubble bath?”— Booklist.

This book is an excellent reference for making hand milled soaps. Does not provide instruction on making the basic soap required for the recipes. Purist soapmakers will require a separate reference for making soap from scratch. Includes an excellent recipe for bath bombs!

This was my first book on soapmaking. Good for beginners. Clever packaging and recipe ideas inspire creativity. Fun!

Interesting book on soapmaking. It is not from scratch but looks more to the hobbyist rather than survival or naturalist.
