Jameson Connor lives in rural Ireland with his loving Grandparents and his beautiful Mummy, Calista.
Jamie tells his story in the words of a child. He is four when he begins to understand that his mummy isn’t like other mummies, and people treat him differently for being her son.
See the world through the words of a child, a painful and confused heartbroken child who doesn’t understand why his mummy changes so suddenly; he doesn’t understand where good mummy goes or why bad mummy comes to stay. All he knows is that his mummy loves him, she doesn’t want to hurt him, she wants to protect him. But when protection turns to obsession Jamie isn’t safe.
Split between two separated parents in different countries and stuck in the middle of a messy legal battle for custody, Jamie is torn between his love for both his Mummy and Daddy.
Welcome to the home of bittersweet M/M romances which will leave you craving more.
Nicole grew bored being a supermodel genius who worked part time for NASA, and decided to take a break from helping solve the mysteries of the universe with Stephen Hawkins to write m/m romance.
She has a loving relationship with her hubby of twenty years, and has achieved a lot in her short life considering she's only eighteen. She has fourteen dogs of all different breeds, plus twenty cats, and when she's not tending to their every need, and solving complex math problems, she loves to sew and can be often found knitting in the garden, which she maintains all by herself with her magical green fingers.
Finding time to make all of her own clothing and master the kitchen better than Gordon Ramsey, she's also a vegan domestic goddess and can often be found cooking up a storm bare foot in her kitchen.
Okay, so that's not true, especially the cooking part, though I do tend to be bare foot and I swear like Gordon does while burning my latest creation -- and I still think NASA will be getting in touch. Any day now!! *crosses fingers* I could sooo do that job because I'm so obviously awesome, but until they do...
I'm a full time author of M/M Romance and Erotica, and somehow I have several bestselling books under my belt. I've been writing for four years, and I self publish all my work under Hidden Pleasures Publishing along with my amazing team of helpers in the form my cover designer Kellie Dennis, editor Jessica McKenna, and all of my beta readers and PA's.
I'm a wife to my beloved hubby and mother to two young girls, and I do in fact have two cats who I adore, but no dog, as the hubby put his foot down. I live in Leeds in the North of England and I love it, despite the terrible weather.
My men are all seeking what everyone is, true love mixed with passion and their own happy-ever-after full of laughter and tears.
This book was written for everyone who has read my Hidden series and fallen in love with Jamie. Thank you for loving him just as much as I do.
All through my first three books you see small sneak peeks of Jamie's troubled childhood.
A childhood that's too painful for him to think about, too painful for him to talk about, too painful for him to even remember.
Choosing to write my books in the first person POV allows you as the reader to guess about what Jamie is hiding, it allows you to remain confused and guessing if Jamie is telling you the truth. Only by seeing him through the eyes of other characters do you begin to understand who Jamie really is, and why he hides so much inside him.
Jamie, like many children who suffer abuse or hurtful things in their past, can hide them, he can create a wonderful world inside his mind where the bad things didn't happen, where they disappear and leave him feeling better.
But those memories are only hidden, or changed, they don't ever leave him. He lives in fear of those memories returning for too long and despite Jamie having ten years to perfect his memory relocation he is triggered by others around him, reliving those memories he has hidden for so long hurts him as if they were really happening.
The first three books I have written show Jamie slowly recalling his memories, they show him moving on and attempting to come to terms with his childhood.
Hidden Child are those hidden memories.
This was my first non-erotic work. I'm very proud of it. It was new for me to write, and new for me to read a book which was written from the point of view of a child, and having the book remain in the first person point of view was a challenge.
I really hope you all enjoy it. And if you have come across my short story first and enjoyed my work, then I hope you will want to read on about Jamie in my other books.
This is a must read!! It touches on so many issues from the child's perspective; child abuse, mental illness, a child's struggle with loving a parent who continues to wrong him. I've never read anything quite like it, but it is so real.
I wasn't sure that I'd enjoy reading a story from a child's perspective, especially since I mostly enjoy romance novels, but I found myself having to read this story to the end. It was all encompassing. In fact, there are a couple of vivid images that I would prefer to forget, but I can't.
Terribly saddening, but very well written. Read it to see what I mean.
Seeing the past through the eyes of an innocent child makes it so much easier to understand. With this short story, we get to see Jamie's childhood and how his mothers mental illness not only affected her life, but also had such a devastating and long lasting impact on his own.
I got three pages into this before just two sentences, yes two made me understand everything he struggles to tell us as an adult.
Senstively written, it never loses the feeling of you seeing events through the eyes of a child who is took you to understand fully what is going on around him. There is so much more to this than Jamie allows us to see in is innocence.
It can be read as a stand alone, but for those who are reading the Hidden Series, it gives you insight into so much more.
Parents can do some abysmally awful things to their children in the name of love. This story was tough to read and my childhood had very few scars. My heart bleeds for Jamie because no matter how much he buries, he'll never forget
I did something I never do with regards to this series and read book 6 without reading books 1 – 5. I enjoyed it so much I requested the entire series to review for Prism so here I am starting at book .5.
This isn’t a romance story in any shape or form but more the heartbreaking story of mental illness and child abuse. It shows us the strength of love a child has for a parent who mistreats them whether intentional or not.
The story is told from Jamie’s point of view and when we first meet him he is just 4 years old. He lives on his grandparent’s farm with his mummy and she is his entire world. He loves good mummy but bad mummy makes him scared. Bad mummy slowly becomes the more prevalent of the two as Jamie’s home life slowly worsens.
His father lives in Monaco with his wife and children and although he fights hard for visitation rights he is fighting a losing battle. When he does finally get to spend time with his son, Jamie’s mother’s behaviour slides even more until life with her becomes dangerous and intolerable.
The writing really made you feel Jamie’s terror and anguish. Although he only wanted to feel safe and loved there was an enormous feeling of guilt when he escaped his mother’s clutches, even for a short time, that whilst he was happy his mother was sad.
It is not an easy read and I think it is made even more difficult because you are reading it from a child’s point of view and more often than not his voice sounds so small whilst his terror felt so big.
This is series is taking control of my life in the best of ways. Hidden Child gives a glimpse in to the reasons Jaime is Jaime... I love love love these guys even though they are driving me crazy!
