Reed returns to his home town but is still unsure about seeing his family. As far as they are aware, he was killed while working a contract job for the DOD. The choice is taken from him when he is mistakenly arrested. He meets Nathan and is attracted. His father finds out he's alive and offers him a job. He takes it temporarily. Reed and Nathan start a relationship and fall hard for each other. His dad draws him back into the family and what drove Reed away before no longer matters. When his dad and new boss finds out about their relationship, it affects nothing except a warning to Nathan not to hurt Reed or else. Reed proposes in a teasing manner and Nathan accepts. Reed is happy and back home with both his family and now Nathan.

Ugggg! Tatum Throne did it to me again! Just as in Hard Hits #2: Training Ryan, the first half of this book was stellar. Excellent, fleshed out story line, very interesting MCs, strip-the-paint-off-the-walls sexual chemistry and some outrageously decadent BDSM scenes. I was a seriously happy camper! Then, the book spent the last few chapters doing a basic verbal wrap up. Like a different author stepped in and finished the book. *pouts* It was so incredibly unsatisfying! Everything was basically resolved with the story line, but we didn't get to "see" anything. Bam!, the MCs are in love, say the "L" word, over in half a page, done with that. MC Reed makes a huge, life changing job decision in a few seconds, bam!, done with that. Such a bummer! The lost potential...

Can't recommend this one guys. If the author had followed through, it would have been my favorite of the series, hands down. Looks like I'm a glutton for punishment and have gone as far as I can go with this series. (I just love my men in uniform mixing it up with a little BDSM. *happy sigh*) But when an author gives up during the home stretch, twice in one series, I need to concentrate on other M/M romance goodies from authors who go that extra mile.

Nathan is a cop on the verge of getting fired after raiding the Motel room belonging to Reed. They have an instant connection and attraction.
Reed happens to be a Dom and decides to train Nathan in more ways than one!
I loved the sex scenes between this couple. The emotions seemed to jump off the page for me!! I ALWAYS look forward to these books and they can't come fast enough! I love this series bc the author makes these hard big city cops and military type men into these sexy vulnerable REAL characters. .. who happen to be gay ;)

These books are all the same: Not a lot of accuracy in either the police procedure or the BDSM, and the writing is a bit staccato, but the sex scenes are hot as hell.

It's actually pretty comforting to me that the stories are all pretty similar. It's just pretty pure entertainment, not exactly mindless, but just sexy fun.
