Saviour #2

Resolution

Rate this book
Resolution picks up exactly where Saviour left us all hanging! Having left an abusive marriage at 45, Lauren can hardly believe that she has found Gabe, a 35 year old blonde buff sex god, their instant chemistry has convinced him that that he wants to change his serial shagging ways and to make what they have found permanent, he knows that he loves Lauren but relationships are a whole new concept to him and he doesn't always get it right.
Lauren, still reeling from the abuse she has suffered at the hands of her ex husband is not convinced that jumping straight into another marriage is the right thing for her, despite how much she loves Gabe, the sex is amazing, they have no problems there, with Gabe she is growing in confidence and trying things in the bedroom (and every where else) that she never even considered during her marriage but they have known each other for just 10 short weeks and already they have been through enough drama to last a lifetime. Lauren has once again been beaten and humiliated by her soon to be ex-Husband, Gabe has revealed he was sexually abused by his Step-Mother as a teenager, and Gabe’s ex is threatening to stop him seeing his daughter.
Will Lauren listen to taunts from jealous exes and her own self doubt; or will the love (and lust) Lauren has found in Gabe’s arms be enough for her to let go of her painful past to build a future with Gabe. Resolution is the conclusion of Gabe and Laurens story, it will take you on a roller coaster of emotions, with some steamy and erotic sex scenes, just to keep your pulse racing, like Saviour, some scenes are gut wrenching, it will have you laughing, crying and wanting to not only hug Gabe and Lauren but also wanting to shake some sense into them. Buckle up and enjoy the ride.

The conclusion to Gabe and Lauren’s (Ren) story and I wasn’t fully prepared for the rollercoaster of emotions Lesley Jones put me through. I won’t go into to detail and spoil it for you but my goodness, there were times I wanted to smack some sense into Ren, but I would remember that she has been through hell with everything that happened with her ex, so I tried to sympathize with her. Would Gabe and Ren have an opportunity to have a second chance at love? Would they be able to overcome what was being thrown their way? Get comfy with your favorite snacks and tissue because once you start you will not want to stop until the last word.

Thank you, Lesley Jones, for such sharing such beautiful gems with us and for allowing us to get lost in Gabe and Ren’s story. Kara~ 5 Emotional Stars

I just finished the long awaited followup to Saviour and I devoured this book in just a few days. I could not put it down and had to find out where Lauren and Gabriel's journey took them. Their passion in and out of the bedroom was sizzling. Gabe really brought out the dirty, dirty girl in Lauren (her words not mine!). While both characters are broken, one was always there to pick the other up. I will not soon forget Ryder's words to his mom at the end. The only complaint I have with this book is that it ended. I can't get enough of this couple and hoped for more of Lauren, Gabe and their crazy family.

This book concludes Gabe and Lauren’s tale. This continuation still explores some hard hitting emotions. It is messy and it has me all over the place. I loved everything about this book. It looks at domestic violence, sexual abuse, trauma, and anger issues. My heart broke on several occasions.

Of this story also gives all kinds of yummy smexy. Wink.

I look forward to more from this book world. Happy Reading Everyone! OXOX

Lesley concludes the story of Lauren (and Gabriel) on his second book , the sequel to " Saviour " . It is a book with many strong emotions . Early on , in the early chapters , I wanted to take a beating on Lauren. Then later , my intention was to give Gabriel some punches. Note that it is actually a demonstration of a talent of a writer, early in the book cause such strong reactions in the reader . " Resolution" has the same (amazing) level of sexual tension in the air between Gabriel and Lauren but also brings its difficulties in deepening their relationship before the age difference and the wounds left by a previous marriage and the trauma experienced by Lauren Gabriel childhood . The plot has unexpected events , and even a bit of action , and the drama between the two main characters . I admire the way Lesley describes the internal reactions of the characters concurrently with the external reactions , what the characters think and feel while talking different things , as usually happens . It's a decent order of characters so captivating as those created in Lesley " Saviour " and ends fittingly a story so beautiful , giving readers an end to proof any criticism ! Who liked " Saviour " 'll like even more of " Resolution" , but I warn , prepare to live strong emotions on every page!

Totes Adore!
Lesley Jones has done it again. From the moment I closed Saviour. I was giddy for Resolution, I've not been able to put it down. Lesley is an aspiring author and become a damn good friend. Gabe and Loz are without a doubt the hottest couple. Gabe is the sexy beast that loves Loz and worships her to a point you become jealous! Loz is still trying to find ground after leaving her abusive husband. But together they build the most incredible life together. They have quite a few pumps in the road. I've cried, laughed, been shocked by the twists n turns. The sex scenes are Hot Smoking Hot!!! #SoDarnSexy. They have been put through so much. But this makes them so much stronger. I've fell in love with these characters. It's so well written, it makes you want to keep turning the page. Lesley has written two books, that are so factual, that you actually believe these people are real. I will miss these two. But I will re.read these books.

Saviour and Resolution get 10/10. x

I stumbled across this author by accident but I must be honest and say I've read all three of her books now and I can't fault any of them, they are fantastic. They have everything I look for in a book. The stories hook you from the beginning and you just don't want to put the book down and after you finish them it feels like you've lost something.... You just want more. I loved Lauren and Gabe's story... I especially loved Gabe x

What a conclusion to the duet! The first book had me off-kilter as I went in blind with zero expectations. However, I could not put it down! I read this book in one day, I knew what was coming, and I still was caught up in my emotions.

This author’s writing is unique and engaging, her style is her own, and her voice is refreshing.
Gabe and Lauren have chemistry, but their relationship is real, peeling back the layers to reveal baggage and drama from their pasts. Although miscommunication and insecurities add to the ups and downs of their relationship, things do get volatile at times. I am looking forward to more in this series.

Thank you to the author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

Added to me TBR to read after "Saviour"... :)

After finishing Carnage, I went looking for books by this author. This is a the second book in a 2-book contemporary romance series (HEA I'm told).

Heads up, the blurb for this book has big spoilers for the first book so if you want to go into this story blind, you might not want to read that.

The blurb from the first book says: “Join Lauren and Gabriel on their emotional, funny, sexy and traumatic journey as they try to conquer the demons from their past and try to build a future together. Their story will make you laugh and it will make you cry and sometimes do both at the same time! This isn’t a hearts and flowers romance, it follows the story of two broken people, trying to find a way forward together after being let down in the worst possible ways.”

Resolution a great story carried straight on from where book 1 finished.
This book was even better than Saviour adored this book. Didn't want it to end and knowing how Lesley drops a bomb on you at the end of Carnage, I was a little afraid nearing the end but I was so happy with this ending.
Gabriel is one seriously sexy gorgeous man oozeing sex appeal.
I loved the banter between Gabe and Lauren. They would take the piss out of each others accents Lauren with her Essex and Gabe with his sexy Aussie one. Had me LOL many times.
All the characters were great a really brilliant couple of books.
Recommend to anyone who likes a great romance with some angst along the way and lots of hot sex with an awesome Aussie.

3.75 Lauren you are a pain in the proverbial arse stars

I enjoyed this conclusion to Gabe and Lauren's story. I loved Gabe..everything about him. His utter devotion to all things Lauren was what held this story for me.

Lauren, not so much. I found her extremely irritating, from her indecisiveness to her general manner. I was wincing at her dialogue on occasions...

My dislike of this character will by no means put me off this author at all. I adored Carnage..one of my all time favourites, and will definitely be dipping into Carnage #2 v soon.

It had felt like forever before Loving Wild came out into this world but yay we finally got it and it was worth the wait!

We got to find out more about Gabe and Ren and all the emotional, push and pull between these two that had me wincing from time to time but man, Gabe was the type that just wouldn't give up. He loved this woman and would just not give up hope and that's what you call real love. I mean, is there such a thing anymore out in the real world these days!

I understood Ren and her reservations with their age differences, I think women have more of a hard time with that issue then men do, I think women get judged more for that, but in the end, it's her life and if she's happy and if Gabe made her happy and he truly loved her and he showed her that every single day then that's all that mattered, they just need to work on everything else and voila!

But I was happy with how it all panned out for them and Ms. Jones did an amazing job, can't wait to see what the next book has in store for us, looking forward to seeing how everything will unfold.

Her life fell apart and she's trying to re-build. Book one leaves us devastated. Book two will pick us up right where the author left us hanging. The road is difficult but the happily ever after is worth the heartache.

Lauren wants to live again. To let go of her past and build a future with Gabe. Every time she picks herself back up, something else knocks her down. This is the conclusion to Lauren and Gabe's love story. It's messy. They will struggle. It's not going to be easy, but they found love together and they are going to find their way.

This duet was heart-wrenching. The way that Lauren suffered and then worked on overcoming her past and finding a brighter future was inspiring. She spiraled at times, but good friends and supportive family lifted her up. This author did not hold back. We felt the struggles. You may even want her to just walk away at times. However, she found a man worth fighting for. Someone who had his own issues to work through, but was willing to do what was necessary to hold onto her. They were both a work-in-progress.

The emotional journey will have the happiest of endings. Hang on for the bumpy ride because it will be worth it.

4.5 stars!

Great conclusion to a fantastic series! Gabe and Lauren face quite a few obstacles in this book. I will say this book is far from boring and it reads very fast paced. Once you start you cannot put it down. Gabe proved his love for Lauren time and time again and his alpha male side came out a few times with his fierce protectiveness for his family. Again just like my review of Saviour, I absolutely love the humor in these books. So even though they are not listed as comedy, you will definitely LOL if you can appreciated sarcastic humor. Oh and I love all the Aussie slang too! Definitely recommend this series!

My rating: 4.5 of 5 ⭐️

Since leaving her abusive marriage of over two decades just a few weeks ago, Lauren's life seems to have gone into fast forward. She has fallen head over ass for ten-years younger and ridiculously gorgeous Gabe, with whom she is having crazy monkey sex all over the place and at any moment. She has moved in with him and has met his slightly messed up family. She also has had the pleasure of having her faced rubbed into some of his 'pre-commitment' escapades, of which there were a great variety, with many.

So despite the fact that her feelings for Gabe are all-consuming and unlike anything she has ever experienced before, when he asks her to marry him after only a few weeks and her not even properly divorced yet, Lauren turns him down flat. Of course that doesn't go over to well with Gabe and before proper explanations can be offered, tempers have taken the argument over the top.

There is no doubt that what they feel for each other is real, but there are too many loose ends yet to clear up and still so many insecurities for each of them to come to terms with. For Gabe the newness of being in love and in a committed relationship of any kind requires some getting used to, and for Lauren the age difference and her 'aging' body image, plus Gabe's philandering history, does little for her self-esteem.

And they are not done yet with the knocks. Lauren's ex will not quietly disappear and the mother of Gabe's daughter is also making herself known. There is a lot of hardship and pain yet to contend with and some happy and hopeful times as well, before life around Lauren and Gabe can finally settle down.

****

Again! I had to reset my brain a little to adjust to the writing style and the minimal slang differences, but once I was in a few pages......

MAN!!!! It's good......it's painful......it's funny as shit..........it's freakin' HOT.......and at times it is so real, I could see myself in the story.

Character development in these two books overall, but in particular in RESOLUTION is tremendous. To see two people solidly formed by decades of experience in necessary self-preservation, suddenly are challenged to leave behind all the insecurities and defenses that go with them and expose themselves completely to the other. A terrifying prospect, to put the kind of trust you've never really given before, out there.

Gabe, is totally comfortable with himself driving Lauren to distraction in more than one way, which cracked me up because it made for some of the most hilarious and recognizable scenes. These types of 'real-life' inclusions in the story, endeared it to me even more. This is not some flowery scented set up, where the woman, in all her perky perfection, complains about a tiny little belly bump, and a 'real man' maybe has a scar on his face or something?..... No this is a middle-aged woman with stretch marks on a belly that has no tone left in it, who snores and farts in her sleep and a guy who needs to use the crapper in the morning!! But it will only make you love them MORE....A breath of 'fresh' air!!!!

Lesley Jones has found a way to edge along the boundaries of the concept of "TOO".....it is almost (but not quite) too erotic...too dramatic.....too tragic.....too romantic, etcetera.......but instead of it being "too" anything, the book is simply fabulous. Expect extreme emotional and situational swings and be prepared to feel it when you close the book!

✨Brassy, quirky, intense, and blazing hot!!✨

An emotional, heart shattering read

Oh, Lesley Jones, you've done it once again, you've taken my emotions on that inevitable rollercoaster ride, and it was non-stop from beginning to end. LOVING WILD is the conclusion to Gabe Wild and Lauren Day's raw, intense, powerful, passionate, and heart shattering story. Lesley does not hold back or mince her words in any way, she's explicit in all her descriptions, and that is why I love her words. Her blend of this Aussie man and his Essex woman ensured there was plenty of steamy HOT sex and some sharp-witted banter that had me snorting with laughter.

"Gabriel Wild is the most complicated man I've ever met."

After the devastating ending to Saving Ren, Gabe and Lauren were assured of a heartbreaking journey to happiness. Both are damaged from events that have shattered them. It is the struggles they have mentally that are the hardest to overcome, and Lesley ensures that every emotion suffered is experienced by her readers. The chemistry that exists between them is explosive, keeping their hands to themselves is impossible, and that is half of their problem. They both need to learn how to talk to each other. Once they begin to do this their healing of past and present scars begins.

"Oh, Little Bird. It's too late to help me. I'm a lost ... cause. Have been since the moment I laid eyes on you."

Gabe and Lauren share a deep, but volatile love. At times this works against them, and they hurt each other, but it is the depth of their love that has them continually reaching out to each other. They are two halves of the one heart. I absolutely adored Lauren, her strength, her sassiness, her caring, and her open heart, made her an easy woman to love. She had her insecurities and lacked some self-esteem, however Gabe was always there to let her know that she was perfect in his eyes. Speaking of Gabe, Oh. My. God. That man I want him as my own. Yes, he did say and do some dumb things at times, even though his intentions are good. However, it is his true tenderness and caring where he shows his real self. Gabe and Lauren may not have had the greatest of starts, or communication when it was needed, but when they do, they had me either laughing or crying. Lesley has written two superb characters that I couldn't help but love.

"I wish there was a way for you to see yourself through my eyes. To feel what I feel for you. I hate, ... hate that you doubt how beautiful you are. Inside and out, baby. You ... amaze me."

LOVING WILD
was another heart-shattering read from Lesley, one that definitely requires tissues, wine and chocolate. Opening my heart to Gabe and Lauren was easy to do, they became just like a couple of new friends. As did Gabe's daughter Ava, she's a chip of the old block, and his family, then add into the mix Lauren's extraordinary friends and you just know that there's going to be a lot of drama and fun.

Gabe and Lauren's story was a pleasure to read, no matter how emotional it got me. A terrific reworking of the original story. I can't wait to see what is coming next.

Another epic kind of rollercoaster ride from Lesley Jones, this conclusion to Ren and Gabe's story is filled with intense emotion and many stops and starts. Picking up right where we left off in Saving Ren, Lauren's world is turned upside down by her soon-to-be ex-husband Jay leaving her battered and bruised. What follows is a series of miscommunications between our couple, and the tremendous fight on their hands to salvage their troubled relationship.

I was fully invested in what would happen next and with each new chapter, chances to merely just enjoy what they had together, Gabe seemed to find new ways to sabotage their love. Not that Ren was an angel herself with her subtle tantrums and fits of jealousy but clearly she had a ton on her hands with the Wild man in her life.

I will say truly are well-suited with their passion for one another completely all-encompassing. It's amazing they could get anything done with all the sex they had, not being able to keep their hands off one another. But their love was real and it was theirs, the heck with what anyone else thought.

Women from Gabe's past feature prominently and give his Ren times of doubt that often leads to harsh words being said and incredible fights and separations. They clearly have issues to contend with as Ren continues to recover from what Jay did to her and the niggling thoughts she wasn't good enough or attractive enough for her man.

But Gabe is devoted through and through and with the help of good mates and wonderful family members, getting to see him and Ren find that real connection once and for all was worth all the heartache to get there. I especially enjoyed Ren's relationship with Gabe's daughter Ava and how she found in her an ally and supportive 'daughter' to make her feel a part of the Wild crew. It was beautiful to witness.

The last few chapters have some true sadness but there are enough good surprises to give this book the happy ending everyone deserved. Although very lengthy and wordy, I was a bit surprised that the one thing that was left out was that Ren and Gabe were able to figure out their issues without a good dose of counseling. I kind of wanted to see that to really get to the heart of their problems. But their stubborn ways clearly contributed to their crazy rows and perhaps their way of working through it all that way along with some truly deep heart-to-heart pillow talks was their own kind of therapy. Again, living their life the way they wanted to.

I'm very glad to have been able to see this journey through with Gabe and Ren, and happily give Loving Wild a big 4 stars!

"In that moment the only word that comes to mind is, magical, it makes me want to giggle but that's the word that's stuck in my head and I can't get rid of it and it describes how he appears to me perfectly, he's everything I could ever wish for and some."

What a heart pounding, jaw dropping, tear filled book! And the SEX!! Let's not forget about all the hot, orgasmic, fireworks sex!! Gabe and Lauren's love story was anything but easy, but you could feel from the first page of this book, how much they both loved each other. This book is about 4 heart pounding roller coasters all rolled up into one!!

"He has a beautiful heart, the face of an angel, he loves me, he wants me to love and take care of me forever."

Resolutions begins with Lauren and Gabe trying to form a good relationship despite all their past histories and Lauren's soon to be ex husband. Gabe is ready to rush into a serious relationship with Lauren but she has several reservations because of her ex husband and what she went thru with him. Then there is Gabe's crazy ex-wife to contend with. Gabe has never had a serious relationship and finds it hard at first to come to terms with his feelings and how to direct them in a positive way.

"I didn't know. I love you so much but I didn't know it would hurt like this, I don't know what to say, what to do, I don't know what to do with all this stuff. It's all in my head and in my chest, and all in my belly Lauren, I don't know where to put it all?"

But when an unspeakable tragedy occurs, it makes both Lauren and Gabe look more deeply into what they have and decide if their love can last and if they can live without each other if not.
There is so much that happens in this book that I don't even know where to start without giving the whole book away! Can Gabe prove to Lauren that age doesn't matter when you love someone and can Lauren get over her past and realize that Gabe wants a forever with her?

"This is real life, where hearts break and can't be fixed by a single kiss, people lie and cheat; they let you down and despite swearing to never do so."

There is tragedy, love, deception, jealousy, insecurities, hope, everything that you want and need in a book! A must read for everyone!!

"I've promised Lauren on more than one occasion now, that I would protect her, keep her safe and once again, I've failed to keep my promise."
"You are my other half, without you I just exist, I need you to make me more, to make me a better person."

This series is a must read if you want a hot, romantic book boyfriend and a spicy read ....

Resolution starts off where Saviour ended and completes this series of books. To say that you feel emotion and love for the characters is undeniable. The author takes you on a roller coaster ride and has you falling in love with the strong, yet damaged Lauren and the hot, sex on legs Gabriel. He really is her Saviour and he is hers. This book is a great read in that you feel like you are right there and part of it, which is how a master story teller is able to grab you and drag you right into the pages of the book. I laughed, cried and felt every emotion whilst reading this story.

I really fell more in love with Gabe during this book, he loves Lauren so much and with his damaged past its hard for him to accept that she loves him. With Lauren’s damaged past she feels the same way, she finds it hard to believe that Gabe could possibly want to be with her due to her age etc. They both have quite the temper and they both fire off often. Lauren doesn’t always make the best decisions and you tend to want to smack her, but at the same time you understand why she makes these mistakes.

I loved the side characters in this book also, Ava, Gabriel’s daughter plays quite a roll in this book and I really loved that interaction between her and Lauren. I also raised my eyebrows and laughed out loud at the toilet scenes, you have to read it to know what I am talking about.

Another thing I loved was that this was set in Australia and being from Australia I just loved the use of our expressions and language. Well done Lesley Jones for sticking with the Australian way of life.

Right, so what did I think? Well once again 5 golden stars for this book. The only criticism I could give would be that it ended and now I have a book hangover again .. thanks Lesley Jones, as if it wasn’t enough for me to have a giant hangover after Carnage, now I have two in the space of a weekend. Carnage is due out on 14th February 2014 - do yourself a favour and grab it immediately along with this series of books.

This is one of those books where if it can go wrong it will. Even I couldn't guess at some of the ways it could go wrong.

Lauren and Gabe both have pasts that leave them feeling undeserving of love. They both have fiery tempers, and naturally this leads to fireworks, not little backyard bangers but huge public display fireworks, these guys don't do anything by halves.

I remember putting off reading the first book because the synopsis hadn't appealed to me, I was so wrong.

The speed at which this relationship moves is beyond supersonic, everything seems to be firing ahead full steam and without pause, but somehow it works. That could partly be down to the huge amount of hot and dirty sex they have, but there's a story in here as well,

It's one of those books where you're cheering on Lauren at the same time you're shouting at her not to be so bloody stupid, she's not always making the best decisions bless her.

I have a huge soft spot for this transplanted Brit, and love the banter between her and her Aussie bloke.

Yes there are a lot of sad moments in this book, or bits that just make you tear up, but there are some really funny moments too.

There's also a little too much information for a mother of an eleven year old girl to read, the insights into Gabe's fourteen year old daughter are enlightening and scary and I'm so not ready to go there!

I think for me the over riding message from this book is that there is light at the end of the tunnel. No matter how dark and long the journey has been, that light shines brightly at the end.

What can I say, Lesley Jones you have done it again !! Brilliant !!! After reading Saviour and knowing that this 2nd book was coming I was not disappointed with Gabe and Lauren's story. It was jam packed full of love, emotion, ups and downs, shocks, twists and turns, passion and sex, oh yes hot hot sex !! It made me laugh, giggle, cry and sob as you took us on a roller coaster ride with Gabe and Lauren. You touched on subjects that most writers would steer clear of and it was done with compassion and sympathy and obviously well researched (I won't give to much away so as not to spoil) but well done on your approach. This is a book that every woman whatever age should read as it is not only about sex, yes that is there and a lot of it and yes it is hot, but there is a wonderful, lovely love story of two people who have to overcome some pretty big obstacles and with the support of their family and friends and their love for each other they battle on regardless .............. I will not say anymore apart from this is a brilliant book written by a brilliant writer and I for one can not wait for more from you Lesley, thank you for giving us Gabe and Lauren xxx

I thought I loved Saviour, which I do!!!!! But Resolution was also just so brilliant. I couldn’t wait to find out how Gabe & Lauren’s relationship would develop and as it’s been said before, what a rollercoaster. I went from laughing on one page to crying the next, then angry, anxious and some points a bit scared! Not in a horror type way but more of a what’s going to happen type way. For me, the writing was so well done. I enjoyed Lauren’s sense of humour. I could just picture Gabe’s expression from some of the things Lauren comes up with.

I fell in love with the other characters just as much as I have with Gabe & Lauren. Both of their families are such wonderful people, I could see how they could all get along and be there for one another. The passion between Gabe & Lauren is smoking hot, just wow! You really want to see those two live happily ever after. And do they? Well, read it and find out, you won’t be disappointed. It’s a story that will stay with you long after you’ve read the last word.

I dived straight into this from the first book and it immediately picked up from the cliffhanger.

Again, this was a very emotional book and the pieces that were adrift in the first book, started to be put together in this one, including a number of shock moments that I had to kick start my breathing!! I loved the couple of twists that were thrown at them and the way that Gabriel held Lauren together and become her voice of reason, although she was stronger in a number of situations (Gabriel's ex wife, she had it coming), I think she let herself down when dealing with her ex...argh!!!! It was great to see that their relationship worked, for the long term, once Lauren accepted it was possible. They complimented each other and family was important to both of them. I loved the epilogue...it made me laugh..I'm a mother of twins, but by the time I'm 50, they will be 16...not sure I could cope with 3 year olds at that age...hahaha...
