ENGLISH: Ten stories by seven different authors, five English-speaking (three American, two English), one French, and one Norwegian. I have not re-read the two stories by Edgar Allan Poe, as I have read them frequently and not so far ago. Stockton's story I have also skipped, as I've read it a very short time back. Here I'll comment the other seven stories by five authors. Of them, I had read (but now re-read) both stories by Stevenson, one by Hawthorne (The Birthmark), and Kipling's story. I hadn't read before those by Maupassant, Björnson and one by Hawthorne.

In my opinion, the best are the two stories by Edgar Allan Poe: "The Gold Bug" and "The Fall of the House of Usher." The next best are Stockton's "The griffin and the minor canon" and the two stories by Stevenson.

I have reviewed "The Birthmark" in my review of Mosses from an Old Manse and other stories.

He reseñado "La marca de nacimiento" en mi reseña de Mosses from an Old Manse and other stories.
