While dealing with various personal issues, Detective Caecilius Rex is working to solve the House of Cards disasters as well as his lifelong quest of who killed his mother and attacked him.
Humor is interspersed throughout this vivid, imaginative, and multi-layered mystery. The narrative reads well and flows quickly.
Characters, both new and old. continue to develop within this story and the series.
Overall, a delightful read.

This is the third book in the Caecilius Rex series.
It finds our hero hot on the heels of The Face. This is the man who is responsible for Cae’s mother’s death.
This time Cae is getting back to his old self again. So when it seems that all the people that can help him find The Face are being killed, he goes all out to find him. We also learn a little bit more about Cae.
This was another exciting book in the series.
Caecilius has such brilliant mind. I love his character.

Another fabulous instalment of Caecilius Rex's story!
I really loved the casino setting for this book it was an exciting new place to see Cae and Kendra get into trouble. By the title I thought that all would be revealed in this book but we still don't have all the pieces of the puzzle from Cae's past even though there were plenty of new revelations here.
Hurry up and write the final part of the series! I can't wait for Lachrymosa!
