Feisty insurance investigator Amber Fox is back in her deadliest case ever...
When Chantal Langton, the daughter of a famous voodoo high priestess, goes missing, is it a simple case of a rich girl looking for adventure, or is it something more sinister? Amber Fox aims to find out, and soon finds herself slap bang in the middle of voodoo curses, a trail of missing women, and a labyrinth of deceit. And, if that wasn't enough, her ex-fiancé-turned-boss-turned-fiancé again is pressing her to set the wedding date. Can Amber find Chantal and hunt down a cold-blooded killer... or will she become the prey this time?

I received a copy of Voodoo Deadly through a giveaway from the author. I had never read any of the Amber Fox books and did not know what to expect, but thoroughly enjoyed the book. The book is a lighthearted mystery novel that has a great sense of humor--- perfect beach read!
I loved this book! All the Amber Fox mysteries have been brilliant but this one is the best so far; I couldn't put it down. The character dynamics are fabulous, the mystery is brilliant, the story line is excellent, all wrapped up in one ball of humour. If you like the Janet Evanovich series you will love this as Amber Fox is an intelligent Stephanie Plum. I can't recommend this book highly enough.
Voodoo Deadly (Amber Fox Mystery #3) by Sibel Hodge 4 STARS Amber Fox is back! She still works for her ex-fiance turn boss, Fiance as a insurance investgator. Amber used to be a cop till she shot her boss in the but. Amber is smart, funny and afraid if she does set a wedding date something will make Brad disappear again. Brad used to be in SAS and last time they were going to be wed he was sent on a secret mission for 3 months and he could not tell anyone or get word out. He is owner of insurence company. He has killed before when Amber was about to be killed. He had the bodies disappear. Brad eats no junk food, does not like clutter or cats. But he likes Amber's cat and nick nacks. Hacker used to be in SAS under Brad's command. He use voodoe only for good. He can hack computers. Tia is sec. for Brad met Amber when she was searching for Tia's father. Tia is a psychic. Not very good at it. This case is to find a missing Chantal daughter of a voodoo priestesses and a big land developer. Her best friend Lisa disappeared six months ago and was trying to find her. Lisa is a reporter but no one knows what story she was working on. Its a very entertaining story. Hope that this is not the last time I get to read about Amber Fox. I have liked all three stories about her cases. Sibel Hodges books that I have read all have some humor in them and will read more of her books in the future. I was given this book to read in exchange of honest review.
This is my 3rd Sibel Hodge book that I've read. I've found another favorite! Her writing style is care-free, and she adds so much silliness. But that's just what I've read. She has a serious title out there - Trafficked, Diary of a Sex Slave - which is considered a must read for some college courses...impressive, right?
This is the 3rd book in the Amber Fox mysteries, and it's the first one I read. You don't have to read the first two installments. I think I'd like to, though. But I wasn't lost and nothing was missing. If there was a backstory, she gave a quick synopsis to catch a new reader up.
Voodoo was a component of this story, and while Amber was full of misconceptions, other characters provided more facts. I think Sibel gave a well rounded look into voodoo. Usually a writer just uses the evil side to propel a story, I was impressed.
I never saw the cover until I started writing this review, so I can't say it drew me in. The title and author did that just fine! :) Look at that! Perfect for Valentines Day. And I did read it on that day too. LOL There is the mystery and a bit of a love story too.
I love the quirky mystery-solving ladies, and Amber Fox is my newest favorite. And unlike Stephanie Plum and Barbara Marr, Amber knows what she is doing, having worked as a police officer for 17 years.
Sibel Hodge. Best yet Voodoo Deadly. This is the 3rd book in this series and is by far the best yet. Amber is an insurance investigator working for her fiancé Brad. In this book she is looking for Chantal who has gone missing under suspicious circumstances , in her search for Chantal she discovers more missing persons and stumbles upon a body part trafficking scam. You will love following Amber in her work and her private life is just hilarious , the balance between her serious work and the humour of her home life is brilliant. Yet again Sibel Hodge has produced a sure fire winner with this easy to read novel. Will Amber make it down the aisle or not we will find out. Whilst working this case Amber is faced with voodoo workings and this adds spice to the story. If you've read the previous two Amber books you will love this one. 5 stars. 03 September 2013.
This is the third installment of the Amber Fox Mystery series. The daughter of a VooDoo Queen goes missing and Amber is hired to find her. Amber is there with her usual sidekicks to try and solve the mystery - and maybe even stumble onto a bigger mystery. In the meantime, she's trying to figure out if she really wants to marry Brad.
This was another cute little chick lit mystery that makes you laugh out loud at times. I love that it is set in England, and all the little differences in culture make me smile. Amber is a likable heroine - not too femmy, tough and smart. I love super Hacker, who apparently does all the work, but I really am not a fan of Amber's romance with Brad.
I love Amber Fox. Each time I read her, I like her even more. She is witty, strong and self-sufficient. This book was different and I liked it for totally different reasons than the other ones. While this one didn't have quite the amount of sarcastic wit than the other ones, I loved the mystery in this one more. I thought it was well constructed and I thought the story was going a different way than it did.
Rich girl Chantel Langton has gone missing. Clues picked up by Amber lead to two clinics and something else she had anticipated stumbling across, Voodoo!
Sibel has a wonderful knack of turning the harshest crimes into comedy capers, while still getting her valuable message across to her readers.
My favourite of the 3 Amber Fox stories. Another fast read with great characters again.
This story involves missing ladies, voodoo magic and a creepy doctor or few. Amber is hired to find a missing girl. Can she find out what has happened to her and her best friend (who disappeared 6 months previously)?
I really hope Sibel will write more in this series. I have loved them all.
I absolutely enjoyed this one. It was a little over the top with the voodoo stuff but it was light and funny. Amber got on my nerves with her indecisiveness about her love life. I can't wait to see what happens next.
The third book in the series certainly packs a punch. Amber Fox who has become one of my favorite sleuths is back with her wit and her appetite. Definitely dealing with a darker subject in this one but overall very enjoyable and entertaining. Amber even gets her much anticipated happy ending.
Amber Fox is back and in rare form!!! I love that she is so tough and previous cop, but also has a girly, clumsy side to her.
I just hate waiting so long in between books, because now I have to make sure her and Brad marry and how that went! I can't wait to read about their married life.
I have been a long-time fan of Janet Evanovich and her Stephanie Plum series. Now I am also a fan of Sibel Hodge and the Amber Fox series. Amber, Brad, Tia, and Hacker work at an insurance company. Amber is an insurance investigator. Brad is her ex turned boss turned fiancé. But Amber is scared to go through with the wedding. The daughter a wealthy land developer disappears, and Amber is asked to help find her. With neurotic Amber on the case, you are guaranteed a hilarious time and conclusion to the case. Especially the parts with the drive-thru and Diamond Dozen. I love these characters. The writing style is superb. I plan on reading the rest of this series. This is book 3 of 6.
Voodoo Deadly by Sibel Hodge is Amber Fox's third adventure.
Yet again Sibel has written a cracking story.
Amber's mum is on her case as she's seen a hat she loves, but won't buy it until Amber has set a date for the wedding. Amber is scared to set the date as she's afraid Brad is going to leave her again.
Amber's case this time involves a missing person and is all caught up with voodoo practitioners, dodgy clinics and the seedier side of medicine.
The story is well written, mostly light with a few "dark" bits and is classic Sibel Hodge. If you enjoyed her previous Amber Fox mysteries, you'll be comfortable in Amber's world. If you haven't, you don't really need to have read the others to enjoy this, but it will help.
Voo-Doo Deadly is the 3rd in the Amber Fox series, and yet one more enjoyable read. I have read several of Ms. Hodge's books, and she has never disappointed me yet. Following Amber Fox through her love life and escapades, enables me to escape the day-to-day.
I'm loving the Amber Fox mysteries! The writing is genius. The perfect mix of suspense, drama, humor, and love. The characters are great. I'm very pleased with the books and will be reading the next asap!!
