Hopalong Cassidy In the ranchlands of Texas, it's best to get along with your neighbors. Somehow, Jim Meeker and his boys never learned that lesson; they took up cattle rustling and fighting over water rights. They picked the wrong the Bar-20 Ranch, where famed gunman and cowboy Hopalong Cassidy ran things the right way. Meeker and his boys never stood a chance.
Bar-20 Days After a long, drunken night, Hopalong and his friends wake up at sea, pressed into service on a gunrunner! The cowboys quickly take over the ship and return to shore, eager to return to the Bar-20 Ranch. Their usual chores are interrupted when Hopalong's pal, Marshall Edwards, is murdered--shot in the back by a coward! Hopalong swears to hunt down the men responsible if it takes to the end of his days.
Clarence Edward Mulford was the author of Hopalong Cassidy, written in 1904. He wrote it in Fryeburg, Maine, United States, and the many stories and 28 novels were followed by radio, feature film, television, and comic book versions. Clarence was born in Streator, Illinois. He died of complications from surgery in Portland, Maine. He set aside much of his money from his book for local charities.
The main information is incorrect. The information is for Bar-20, an earlier book, rather than for Bar-29 days. Hopalong Cassidy and Johnny Nelson are in a Texas coastal town and get shanghaied onto a filibustering ship. But they escape and Hoppy bests the captain in a bareknuckle fight. Returning to west Texas, Johnny spots the ghost of San Miguel canyon and later the men help a revenue officer capture the smugglers.
