The last place Pia wants to be is on a family vacation in a sleepy Cornish village. She's anticipating two weeks of mind-numbing boredom. Then she meets Trey, a local boy. He's absolutely gorgeous. The trouble is — he knows it. He's arrogant and egotistical, and Pia intends to avoid him at all costs.

But Trey is not the kind of guy who gives up easily. When he sets his sights on Pia, her resistance is futile.

It's just a holiday romance, some light-hearted fun, right? But one of them is about to discover that still waters do, indeed, run deep. When what lurks beneath the surface finally erupts, the consequences may prove to be catastrophic.

For age 17+ due to sexual content and strong language.

4.5 Ima Jerkoff stars

Pia is your typical teenage girl about to go to college. She's off for a two week vacation with her family, in whitch she's not happy about putting it lightly. There she meets Trey, an arrogant and egotistical boy and her vacation takes a whole other turn.

I was kinda iffy about it being YA/NA, cause they tend to be a little to muchy and romancy for my tastes. But boy was I wrong.

The story is told in dual point of view. The first half is from Pia's and the second it switches to Trey's.
It was gripping how the emothion changed from one POV to the other. The first half was light hearted and fun, it makes you laugh and roll your eyes as Pia fell under Trey's charm. The second half had more raw and deeper emotions.

“His name’s Ima Jerkoff,” I announce. I notice Mum and Dad’s eyes widen in shock. Ha, get out of that one, jerk. I fold my arms and smirk at him. He covers his mouth with his hand; he appears to be having a coughing fit.”

Pia kinda annoyed me at first. I didn't think she was that interesting character and at times I wanted to yell at her but page after page she grew on me. I really enjoyed reading her POV and being in her head, how she thought things through and analyzed them was so funny.

“So how come you singled me out for special treatment?”

“You’re beautiful Pia. I enjoy being with you. Truth is, I can’t stay away from you. And my dick twitches whenever I’m near you.”

I loved Trey. At first you think he's your typical cocky, egoistical bastard but no, this guy just knows what he wants and fights for it. And he wants Pia. When you find out his story, you really feel for him and what he went through. What he still goes through. His POV is heart-wrenching and you root for him to get his happy ending finally and find the love that he deserves and needs so much.

I also enjoyed meeting Pia's friend Fay in Trey's POV. She had me cracking up with her comments and I really needed some laugh in his half of the book.

Even though I had some problems with the plot , I really enjoyed this story. The author did a great job dealing with some heavy subjects like mental abuse, suicide, depression. I fell in love with Pia and Trey's characters and I wanted them to have their HEA so bad.
I highly reccomend this. You will not be disapointed.

PS1 Trey was listening 'Wrecking Ball' in the car? For real?

PS2 Trey's dad is a DICK. I just had to say it.

PS3 I hope we get a sequel. I'm interested to see how they're life turned out after so many changes.

Holiday NA romance set in the UK that grows into more. H was a manho before h, but I totally understood, it was his one fun thing in his life. I felt so sorry for the poor H, he had no-one he could count on, not even a best friend, everyone let him down. I don't care if his mother was mentally ill, she was physically and emotionally abusive to the H - and so was H's remarried dad who was neglectful on top of that.
This is the second British author that I've read where MCs support and actively tie themselves to toxic and abusive characters just bcos they are 'family'. I find that odd, ignorant and even unhealthy. Many a time these situations can deteriorate to blood and death and emotional scars seeping across generations. Sometimes the best option is to go no contact and many psychiatrists would say the same. I wanted the H out of his dysfuntional situation more than any HEA - that would have been his HEA!
As for the romance, the h was okay, she could have been more supportive of H, but she took a chance on him in spite of his manho past....It was easy to do that bcos H was charming, sweet - a nice beta guy really. In a way it also reassured me that the h wasn't the fixer-upper codependant type and could stand up for herself.

4 stars!

This is a romance novel that veers away from the norm – a proof that professing love does not need to be overly sentimental or uncomfortably soppy. What it shows is the gritty side of romance, not dressed up in the usual trappings of love. That’s not to say it lacks passion and emotion; there’s plenty of that too.

The story is told in two points of view (Pia’s and Trey’s), which I think effectively connects the reader to the characters in a much deeper way. Trey’s story carries with it an almost unbearable sadness. But it’s not all heartbreak and sadness because there are plenty of hilarious situations and dialogues. And of course, there are the steamy scenes that can be too graphic for comfort, enough to fog up the Kindle device.

This is a well-written story that not only tells of young love, but also presents hard issues that don’t normally get mixed with romance.

Arc received for an honest review

I tend to stay away from Young Adult books because I think they are basically the same. But there was something about this story that really got my attention. I 'm glad that I decided to review it because it was really a great story!

This is my first time reading this author and I was very impressed with her writing and her storytelling. I liked how she developed the characters and how they grew through out the story.

I think that a lot of people can identify with Pia. She is sweet, kind and not the most confident. She realizes what Trey is all about but she can't help the pull. Trey, for his part, is more than he sees, which was a nice surprise. I really enjoyed this fun romance between these very likable characters.

Angsty, Emotional and Also Fun! A Sweet Romance with Heart and Substance!

The Review:
I really enjoyed this fun, new adult romance, which touched on some very real and heavy topics while also giving you a sweet romance. Though, in my opinion, there were some flaws with it, I still found it touching, realistic and heartfelt. The characters were interesting and connectable and the story itself was consuming enough, I found myself reading it in one sitting.

Story/Characters...
Pia is vacationing with her family, a vacation in which she doesn’t want to be on. She has a life back home and a guy she’s interested in and she wants nothing more than to get a chance at one date with him before she heads off to college. Her parents want one final family getaway and have dragged her along for the ride.

While sitting on the beach, trying to get cell reception to find out from her best friend if that date she so desperately wants, is a go, she meets a handsome stranger who she instantly trades snark with. I loved Pia’s character in the beginning. She could sling verbal sparring with everyone and still come out sweet and likable.

And I LOVED Trey and Pia’s initial meet! Sparks were flying!

Trey’s whole life has been in the small Cornish village most come to vacation at for a short while before leaving to go back to their lives. He’s often taken advantage of the short term relationships those vacationers afford him because his life isn’t set up for more than one night stands. Tragedy struck his family a few years before and daily life for Trey is stifling as he tries to hold together what’s left of his family.

When he meets Pia, he quickly sees what “could be” if he wasn’t tied to an unstable mother who needs constant monitoring. Trey’s character was so heartbreaking. He can’t leave. He can’t work. He’s lost so much and the one person who should have been there to see him through, left when things got rough. Trey’s future is bleak and he has no prospects and no solid path.
His life is spiraling out of control and there’s no help in sight. But when he meets Pia, it’s like a breath of fresh air and he wants so desperately to breath deep.

Pia and Trey have many obstacles to overcome before they can find their happily-ever-after.

Thoughts...
This book got to me on an emotional level. It deals with sever depression, suicide and the toll death takes on a family. My heart broke for Trey’s situation and everything he and his family had gone through. His mother was so disconnected, she couldn’t see what was right in front of her... a loving son who was literally giving up his own life to take care of her. Trey’s father was a jackhole of epic proportions. He ran when things got tough and though I can understand that’s how he decided to cope with what happened, I didn’t understand his actions towards Trey at all. This family was broken and completely shattered. The angsts were very real and enjoyable to read.

But...
At first, I really enjoyed Pia’s snark. She was tough and strong-headed but about halfway through the book, she turns her snark to judgment, always accusing Trey of stuff from his past. She listened to people she didn’t even know and gave him the cold shoulder without talking to him first. She threw snide comments and didn’t handle it with any maturity at all.

Also, I know it couldn’t be helped because Trey was stuck in his home, never really able to leave, but having graphic sex with his mom in the next room was kind of creepy. Don’t get me wrong, Trey and Pia’s chemistry was hot and sultry and they were fun together but knowing his mom was in the next room, drugged or not, was distracting. And she even comments at one point about his “whores” so she knew what was going on behind closed doors. I kept expecting her to bust in on them! lol. It was hard for me to concentrate on the yummies. I also think given the characters were having such hot sex, drinking and acting like grown-ups, their maturity level needed adjusting. They did some very immature things throughout the story.

And lastly, sometimes the story got bogged down with mundane things like a play by play of Pia’s family outings while on vacation, Trey’s cooking techniques or his cleaning of the house, which seemed to have no relevance to the story itself. I kept expecting something to happen during those scenes, for their to be a reason they were given so much detail, but it never really lead anywhere.

The Wrap Up:
This was a quick, fun and angsty read and regardless of the “buts”, I still completely enjoyed this story. The parts that had substance were really good and though tragic, Trey’s situation added a lot of conflict. I enjoyed the friendships and the connection between the characters. I loved the ending and how Trey’s situation was handled. I also loved that Pia found what she really wanted and life was going to get better for everyone. This was a great afternoon read!

4.5 stars!
London native eighteen year old Pia Hamilton is on summer vacation at a seaside village with her family before starting college when she meets local nineteen year old Trey Baker. Though she has her sights on a boy back home, Trey works his way into her vacation, and soon she finds that not only is he not so easy to brush off, he’s also not so easy to forget.

The opening scenes captures the “bored teen angst” feel well through Pia’s complaints of being stuck on vacation with her parents and kid brother with no other companions her own age. At times she comes off a little bratty. Granted Trey was doing the immature teen boy thing of pestering her to get her attention. Throughout the bantering and inside jokes about their names, I kept thinking that he was going to tell her ‘Pia’ stood for ‘painin ass’ because the thought crossed my mind, but he never did.

Alas, Pia loosens up though there are still times she’s a bit wishy-washy (not necessarily out of character for her age but at times I just wanted to tell her to lighten up on the poor boy). Yes, Trey is that adorable. Still I understood she wasn’t always sure how to take him or how much of a player he was. The story is told in the first half by Pia and the second half by Trey, and the split alternating point of views work well in keeping some mystery to the feelings and intentions of the opposite character.

While the first half told via Pia feels more fun and light-hearted (which actually fits with her less stressful, average teen life) by the second half of the book, the story becomes much more gripping and deeper (which fits with Trey’s sad life). Trey is an amazing character; his story at times heart-wrenching. Trey is someone you so want to see succeed and be loved. He’s made a ton of sacrifices in his life and gotten the raw end of the deal. I wanted to give the boy a hug myself.

There is no insta-love or even insta lust here. They really have to work for every step their relationship takes, and they have their share of set backs. The story has a great build up as trust is attempted to be established and the relationship grows. There is also plenty of chemistry and sexual tensions.

There is no cliffhanger (more of a HFN) but by end I was so invested in characters, especially Trey, that I wanted more—almost needed more. I went searching to see if there was a second book as there is certainly material for it, so I broached that very question with the author, and I think it’s safe to say we’ll see more to come with these characters.

I purchased this book after discovering the author on Rave Reviews Book Club.

This is a gritty, realistic, and totally non-soppy romance novel.

Pia is dragged on a two-week holiday to an isolated rural Cornish village by her parents, along with her younger brother. She stars at Uni in just a fortnight, and really doesn't want to be wasting her time in this dreary place. Heck, she can't even get cell phone reception. She badly needs to be able to use her phone, especially as she is waiting for a text from her BFF to let her know whether a hottie back home has agreed to go on a date with her, or not.

Trey is a local lad, burdened with the sole care for his mother, after his brother died and his dad left. He is also a ladies man, and has earned quite the reputation. He makes a play for Pia, but she rebuffs him in no uncertain terms. She finds him arrogant, self-centred, and flaky, and doesn't appreciate being just another one of his 'holiday-maker' conquests.

This is a book of two halves. The first half is told from Pia's point of view, and the second half is told from Trey's. The novel is written in first person perspective, and remains consistent throughout. Pia's section, with her often sarcastic wit, had me laughing out loud in places. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

The plot, pacing and character development are all done excellently. There are some graphically written sex scenes, and strong language, and for this reason the book is suitable for those of 17 years and above.

The writing style is passive, yet because it is written in 1st person present tense, it gets away with this much more than a novel written in 3rd person past tense, for example. There were a few proofing errors, and some minor editing issues, but otherwise this was a well presented book.

I will definitely be reading more from this author. I give a strong 4 out of 5 stars for 'Just Stay'.

The author provided me with a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Who loves an ‘underdog’? Everyone!!! We always want things to work out for those who are struggling or have a tough life and the male protagonist in this book is no exception. It’s clear that Michelle loves to write about an underdog and I found myself cheering him on until the very end.

Just Stay is written via the point of view of Pia for the first half of this book, and it then switches to Trey. This has been able to give a great perspective on each of these characters lives. Both of them are likeable but also have their traits that annoy, and that makes them feel very realistic. I particularly like how Michelle writes from the male perspective as I can forget that this story is coming from a woman and not a man. Trey does not come across as sappy or soft I guess you could say, as males can when their point of view is written by a woman.

The secondary characters are an interesting bunch. The most predominant being Pia’s cheeky best friend – Fay. Who provides us with a little humour.

The book is not overdone in the love scene department with only a few, and they certainly are steamy, complete with a broken bed!giggle

A nice book with a happy ending. If you like a story about an underdog wanting a better life in this world then, you need to give this a try.

Fun read, 4 stars!

Favorite Quotes:

My Review:

This was cute and sweet story of young love that blossoms from a vacation romance into a little more, and does so rather quickly. It is a role reversal from what I usually expect, as the one being left behind and wanting more from the relationship, is the young man. He is actually not much more than a boy, but we find he hasn’t really been allowed to be a boy as he is also the caretaker of a needy and mentally ill parent. I enjoyed his story, and developed a lump in throat and squeezing in my chest during the heavier scenes when the story turned on him. The tale flows well and is easy to read and easy to follow. There were only a few steamy sensual scenes, but they were nicely done. While it was not all light and breezy, and took some dark turns, the ending brought a smile to my face.

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

On a family vacation, Pia meets Trey, a great looking, cocky guy who doesn't give in until she agrees to see him. But the friendship continues after the vacation ends, and things get more complicated as real life sets in.

I didn't start out loving Pia, so I had trouble connecting in the beginning of the book, but once it switched to Trey's POV I was hooked so deeply I stayed up to finish the book. His life is so messed up you just hurt for him and want to fix his life so he can live out his dreams.

The book deals with some real life issues that can be hard to resolve in a way that is both believable and satisfying, but I give Abbott kudos for pulling off both of those. The last half of the book pulled it up a star in my rating, as I become emotionally involved and got my happily ever after. Just Stay is definitely worth the read.

An Amazing book of young love that holds no boundaries. I love to read Michelle's books she really has a knack for grabbing on to your heart strings and keeping a tight reign until the end of the book. In this book we have Pia away n a holiday with her family and she is not happy to be away from the city. Trey who lives in this Cornish little village and is dying to start living his life and be important to some one.
Of course when he meets Pia he is instantly attracted, her not so much. Yeah she thinks he is handsome but wants nothing to do with him, that is until he breaks down her barriers.
I felt this book was raw and real his feelings toward Pia and his insecurities about her love toward him stem from the lack of love he felt from his parents. He broke my heart. A man so filled with love that no one would return not even the ones that were supposed to love him unconditionally.
Ladies I cried not for Pia but for Trey, this is a story where you will root for the Man more than you will for the woman. In other words... Trey all they way!!!
Michelle you have a fan for life!

I didn't like the romance it this. It was the typical girl goes on vacation, meets boy, they fall in love, blah blah blah.
What kept my interest was Trey's story. There was a reason he couldn't commit to a girl and didn't want to drag them in his life. My heart ached for him. I can't imagine dealing with his pain everyday and not eventually snapping, which he did.
I was glad that he finally got the help he desperately needed so that he could have a life of his own.
The writing was ok but the timeline jumped around without warning. Sometimes the dialogue came off as forced and I didn't find all of the characters actions believable.

** JOSIE'S 4.5 STAR REVIEW **

Just Stay by Michelle Abbot is a beautiful story about young love. A true love. I really loved how the author wrote Pia and Trey’s story. Their story is not an easy one, just like their love, it was not instant, but happened over time. Pia is on vacation with her family for 2 weeks that is when she meets Trey. Her first thought is he is a player and she is not interested. Trey however, is very interested in Pia. She is not like any other girl he’s ever met that has come to the island for vacation.

Pia is stubborn and she is not happy about going on vacation with her family where she gets no phone service. This is her last vacation with her family before she leaves for University so her parents want to spend time with her. I really loved the relationship Pia and her family had. It was not a troubled family but whole (we don’t see that in a lot stories). Trey however has a troubled life. His brother passed away, his father has remarried and has nothing to do with Trey and his mother, and Trey’s mother has never gotten over her son’s death. She is mentally unstable.

“So how come you singled me out for special treatment?”

“You’re beautiful Pia. I enjoy being with you. Truth is, I can’t stay away from you. And my d*** twitches whenever I’m near you.”

Trey and Pia spend time together over Pia’s vacation. Their time together has changed them both in many ways. Trey is not a very confident person. He knows that his mother is all he has and that he can’t offer Pia much of a life. That makes things difficult for the pair. Pia is strong character and she understands what Trey has to do. She is supportive of him and his responsibility to her mother.

“Pia, please, wait. It’s not want you think, my mum’ sick, I need to stay with her, I cant leave her on her own.”

“In that case, I’ll stay and keep you company.”

When the vacation is over, Trey and Pia decide to stay in contact. With Pia’s absence, Trey realizes he does not want to only communicate over Skype and phone, he wants Pia. Pia makes trips back to see Trey and the two slowly fall in love over time.

“I want a girl who is all mine, who loves me for who I am. I am going to be a better man, and father than my dad. I won’t run away when things get rough.”

The author did a great job, with this story, she shows us what depression looks like. It is not easy to read. It breaks your heart, you see and feel how hard things are for Trey and his mother. Trey wants to be with Pia so much but he struggles with the idea of leaving his mother alone.

“Just looking at you makes me happy. When I’m with you, I can believe everything is going to be okay. You give me hope.”

“You’re caring and romantic. You’re talented, and I’m learning to trust you.”

Besides a love story, the author gives readers some sensitive matters, mental abuse, suicide ideation and depression. There were times that I cried in this book and then there were times that I was on cloud nine. The author really did an amazing job and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to read it. You will fall in love with Trey and Pia’s characters. I recommend you run out and pick up this book. You will not be disappointed.

4 We all just want to be loved Stars

love photo: love aw.jpg

Pia is a teenage girl who her parents are forcing to go on a family trip to go to a Cornish village in the middle of NOWHERE (ooo the horror, she cant even get a cell phone reception). She is NOT happy and she voices her opinion the entire time. Her parents want to spend this time with her because she is headed off to University at the end of the summer. (Pia did annoy me on more than one occasion... Im just saying she was a bit much)

really photo: really? really tumblr_l5bq80ZFZa1qzkrl1.gif

Trey is a young man with a lot on his plate. His brother died and his father left so he was forced to grow up and take care of his mother. His coping mechanism for this, ladies. He has made a name for himself as being a ladies man and the biggest male whore in town. And what does he do when he sees a pretty new girl in town? Of course he makes an attempt to "get to know her", but Pia is not falling for it and brushes him off, but Trey is not going to take no for an answer.

The book is told from both POVs with Pias being the first half of the book and Trey's being the second half of the book. I dont generally care for dual POV but this one worked and flowed very well. I also enjoyed that Trey was able to break down all of Pia's wall and she was able to finally let him in. My heart broke for Trey because all he wanted was to feel loved and he continued to go about it the only way he knew how until he met Pia. So many times we read about girls who think having sex will connect them to people or make people love them, but rarely does an author show us a male character going through the same thing.

This is a raw and gritty story of coming of age and falling in love and having to figure not only what you feel, but what is right is for you and the one you love.

summer love photo: summer love summer-1.jpg

The books ends on a HFN note, which in my opinion is the not so happy medium between HEA and a cliffhanger.

Oh, Summer love… It’s sweet, and it’s fun. But, what if you don’t want it to end? What if you want Fall, Winter, and Spring love with that person, too? Would it ever work?

When Pia meets Trey while on vacation, she finds him annoying and egotistical. I’ll be honest, I actually found her to be the one who was annoying and egotistical. She acted spoiled and selfish. Aside from her looks, I really couldn’t understand what Trey saw in her. Her personality seemed to improve over time, but I wanted to smack her when she started complaining about him taking her to his house to eat rather than taking her out.

Poor Trey… He drew the short straw in life. With problems at home and a bleak immediate future, Pia is pretty much the only happiness he has in life. He’s very admirable—giving up his future and youth to take care of his sick mother without any complaints or any appreciation from anyone. I wouldn’t have blamed him if he got in his car and drove away, leaving his mom, dad, and friends behind. And I love him even more for not even considering doing so. Definitely the better of the two main characters.

Both Pia and Trey find so much more than they are looking for over the two weeks they spend together. All Trey wants is for Pia to stay forever, unrealistic as it may seem. So when summer is over and it’s time for Pia to head to university, the two of them must decide if they are going to work for it, despite the distance, or if they’ll have to just let go.

There were also some… inconsistencies… or let-downs in the story telling… however you want to say it.

Pia seemed determined to hold back when it came to sex in the first half of the book (her pov), but in the second half (Trey’s pov), she seemed much more easy. That may seem logical when reading it here, but in the book, it seemed like she suddenly had a completely different personality. Also, the sex scenes seemed pretty graphic for a book that started out with none. Not that graphic sex is bad or unexpected in a NA age read, but, like Pia’s sudden willingness to spread her legs, it didn’t seem to quite fit the sexuality displayed in the first half of the book. Another issue I had was that the resolution at the end of the story seemed to come really quickly. There was a lot of conflict and then *BAM* It’s resolved. The drama was so built up that I would have liked to have seen more effort put into the ending. However, I was happy to see the book end in a HEA.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. There were some elements that could have been improved upon, but it was still a good story that kept me interested.

This book left me with mixed feelings. I enjoyed aspects of it and overall it was a good read. There were parts thought that didn't sit right for me.

Overall: The story concept is good and grabs hold of you. The idea of a troubled young boy who makes the most of his situation and loves wholly even after all he has been through is good. He overcomes alot and struggles to find a safe place and become what he truly wants to be. He hasn't quite found himself fully but is getting there. His ability to love and forgive is immense. Trey strikes more of a chord for me than Pia. Pia to me was less mature and needed more development. Her understanding shouldn't come because of others forcing her to see things but from her own self and maturity of seeing things. Pia to me is stunted. A character who needed more depth and insight less emotional outbreak.

Characters: Trey: he was written well. A good balance between being a teen and growing up to soon. Has so much on his plate and has been emotionally stunted and closed off from love but has so much to give. When he loves he loves fully. His evolution and coming of age and terms with things is well done and written.

Pia: again didn't strike a chord. I find her more immature and needy. Selfish and I believe that the author did a great job evoking these emotions for her from the reader. To me I think that was her intent to make a immature teenager. Most teenagers are but Pia does go emotionally to an extreme.

Trey's mom: Helps you to understand Trey. She is really a character to feel for but also not like at the same time.

Trey's dad: The author does a good job having you despise him.

Ash: Another immature character. He has remorse in the end but it is too late in my opinion.

The carefree tone at times helps to ease the seriousness that we see in Trey and his situation. There is some bantering and fun but we do see the hurt and anger that is Trey's life take a big space in this plot. It drives him forward and helps his character develop. the romance that is laid out before us is stunted at times by the immaturity of characters but in a teenage romance that is realistic to see. Our emotions overtake our thoughts and we get rash.

A book on overcoming our past, finding ourselves and finding one to love.

Thanks for that!

Trey (Colton Haynes):

My first image of Trey was a Dylan O'Brien-like guy, but it quickly changed to Colton Haynes. Can you blame me? :P

Pia (Kathryn McCormick):

I'll split my review (for obvious reasons) in two.

1. The first part of the book (in Pia's POV)
I had some doubts when I saw that it was written in the present tense, but it kinda worked out so no problem there.
I liked the beginning, when Trey and Pia didn't know eachother. The arrogance and the sarcasm, it was delicious! (I'd have liked it to last a little bit longer. but that's no big deal and it's also a personal preference so it's no big deal.)
But then Pia started doubting and I know this has to happen, but I was just sitting there like:

So Pia began to get on my nerves, when suddenly... BAM! POV changes! I knew it was going to happen because I (accidentally) read it in a review, but it was perfect timing!
Since Pia got on my nerves I wanted to give this book 3 out of 5 stars just because of that.

2. The second and last part of the book (Trey's POV):

Woops! Sorry, I was drooling on Colton...
So the second part of the book was written in Trey's POV and still in the present tense.
Like I said: perfect timing for the switch.
I don't have much to say about the second part other than it kicked some ass!! I really loved it! If I'd only have to review this part, I'd give it a 5 out of 5. Let's say I really really really loved it ;)

I think it's a nice summer read (and it certainly gets your hopes up). It's a nice romance book and is really easy to read!

I rec'd an ARC of this book from the author, in exchange for my honest review. This is my honest opinion of her book.
Upon reading it , I found that it was amazingly well written. That the characters and the scenes (including the beach scene) is so well defined. It draws you in and you feel apart of the story.
So before mousiey starts telling you some of the book; draw up a chair and enjoy your coffee.
This story is about young love. And finding yourself and those you love in a different light.
You have a young lady Pia, who will be starting college in the fall. So, her parents decides to take a last trip as a family. They go to a small village where there is no and I mean no wifi or cellphone coverage. ( You know that is bad, reak bad for teenagers!!) Anyways, Pia decides to go down to the beach after unpacking her clothes. That is where she meets a hunk of a teenager. But she is really ticked off still about coming. So when he comes up to take with her -she is rude. He follows her back to her house where they are staying for 2 weeks. Cons his way into joining them on a sight tour. But Pia has ideas of herself, she tries to get her parents to really dislike him.
During the course of the 2 weeks , she ends up spending more and more time with him. Pia finds out alot about Trey. They grow close . Treys dad left his mom an him years ago. Will not have anything to do with them. So , he is left to care for them both.
Even though he wants to spend time with Pia, His duties to his mom come first.
Now I could go on an on about this story. However, if I did then you would not want to get it. It is currently just 99 cents on Amazon. I recommend this book to all adults. Due to the sexual scenes in this book it is not recommended for any one under the age of 17.
That being said. All the terrific writing, amazing in depth characters, the scenes. I give this book a rating of 10 stars out of 5 stars. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR ?? GO GET YOUR COPY NOW AT AMAZON!!!!

I'm going to start this review by saying I'm not sure what to think about this book. This is a story about 18 year old Pia who is less than thrilled to be taking a family vacation with her parents and younger brother away from the city and her friends. She meets Trey, a mysterious 19 year old, who she immediately doesn't trust, but Trey thinks she's beautiful and wants to get to know her. She treats him poorly at first, but as she gets to know him, she realizes her instincts about him were wrong.

As you read this book and delve more and more into Trey's life, your heart will break for him. Trey just wants to start living his own life and have someone want and love him. You just want to pull him into your arms and tell him everything will be ok. He has some trust issues when Pia is away at school which stem from his parents who remind him often how they feel about him and of course this causes problems between Pia and Trey. He goes through a series of terrible events for which he blames himself and feels he has no one anymore.

I finish the bottle of wine, and open another. I may as well be dead too. I've got nothing and no one to live for.

And I had some serious hate for his mother and how she treated him! So many times I just wanted him to walk away from her, but he felt too much obligation to continue to care for her.

While I felt the first part of this book dragged a little for me, I hit a point where I couldn't put it down. Overall, I enjoyed it. It elicited a lot of emotion from me and that's what I think makes it a good story.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Just stay
I received an ARC for an honest review.
4 stars out of 5
Just stay starts out with Pia’s POV and then in the middle of the book you read the book in Trey’s POV. I have never read a story were the author splits the POV in half like that. I found that it worked really well in this book. The beginning of the Just Stay Pia is on Holiday with her family. This is where she meets Trey. During her Holiday her and Try end up falling for each other. Pia has her doubts about Trey because he is known to just sleep with women and then leave them. In the second part of the book you get Treys POV you see a different side of what is going on with Treys and his home life. Trey has been through a lot and he puts up with a lot. You really start to feel for him the more read about him.
Pia I found to be a strong character. There were times when I just wanted to yell at her. Then I had to remember how I acted when I was her age. I would have done the same thing and I would have felt the same way she felt at times.
Trey- I loved him. As I said before you really feel for how he has lived. When you find out everything that he has dealt with it will make you like him more. He is a strong hero and fights for what he wants.
I thought the story was well written and I would recommend it to anyone. There were some issues that were mentioned in this story like suicide and depression. They played a bigger role in this story than I thought they would. It worked though and tied up the story at the end very well.

I'm speechless to even make a decent review of this book. Amazing doesn't work for this story.

I thought it would be this same old same old story about having a "short-time" relationship in some distant place and yadah yadah yadah but NOOO! I would admit that it was fast paced but that's just it right? This is a story of a love which was supposed to be a fling turn into real emotion and romance and though it may be trite to other to read the same flow of the story, they might have to rethink and READ this because THIS STORY IS MUCH MORE THAN THAT

This story starts of with Pia's POV which showed how her life was and how she is ready to be back to her old life. Pia's life story was not much stated in the story but you could guess that she was well off with a loving family and friends. When she met Trey, she was adamant about not getting to attached to him but with his charms and wit who knows she may have a change of heart.

Half of the story then revolves around Trey's life and I was somehow compelled by his life that I didn't stop until I reach "The End". Compelling was his life because he was forced to live a life where he must always try and be good enough for his mother. I can really connect with all the "perfection" drama Trey has and do be honest the story revolves more around Trey than it is with Pia when I was reading the story.

I would give this a 5 stars because it was compelling. That's it! This book is not only amazing but COMPELLING as well.

I have been a fan of Mrs. Abbott's since I met Kayden (In Chains series). She definitely still keep my attention now. I loved this book. Trey's POV had me bawling my eyes out at times. Pia just seemed so lost sometimes. But when they were together it was as if their worlds were righted and I loved that.
I have to say, I never expected my heart to break so much until Trey's POV came into play. The struggle behind his tough exterior slayed me. But these are the types of characters that Mrs. Abbott writes. The hidden struggles, the intense EMOTIONAL climax, the fall out, and the reunion...
I can't get enough of the men that she creates within her books. Trey seemed pompous at first, but you almost feel the shift with him when he realizes that Pia isn't just another girl.
This book had me torn up with sadness, but also busting a gut with laughing. I can't even go into how many times I laughed while reading this book. My favorite had to be where they just finished making love and the bed collapses and he looks up at Pia and says "So, precious, did the earth move for you too?" (not exactly word for word there, but the jist of it)
I loved this book and will be highly recommending it to everyone! I can't wait for more from Pia and Trey. I hear there may be another book. I'm excited for it if they are because to me it was like the beginning to their story. Now, Michelle Abbott, you need to hurry with another book because I need more. MUST READ!!

Book provided in exchange for honest review.

I thought this was a cute story about finding love when you least expect it. I wasn't too sure about Pia initially, she came across as spoiled; but then I remembered when I was 18 and thought I was too cool to hang out with my family, and figured she's acting like most teenagers do. And in this day of technology, it's the worst to be stuck someplace you don't want to be with a reliable way to keep in touch with your friends.

I liked how the story is broken up, with the first half of the book told from Pia's perspective and the last half from Trey. Despite her misgivings and even acknowledging that it's just a vacation fling, Pia eventually finds herself growing more attracted to Trey as the days go on. The more she gets to know him, the more she realizes that there's a lot more to Trey than people realize. Once you get to Trey's story, you can't help but to feel for him, with everything he's had to deal with in regards to the mess his family has become. I liked the way the author handled the end part of Trey's story, it's tough to work something like that into the story and make it seem realistic, but it worked out fine for this book.

I'd recommend this to anyone who likes to read New Adult stories that aren't overly dramatic or angsty; a good beach read.

* I received an arc in exchange for an honest review *

Sadly I didn't enjoy this book as much as I thought it would, it was definitely not a bad book but there were just some bits that irked me too much. I did, however, absolutely adore Trey. He was a beautiful person who had a horrible home life and I just wanted to gather him up in my arms and weep with him. He was so perfect that I had high expectations of who he should be with and Pia just fell way too short. Trey was completely enamoured with her and their relationship just seemed really one sided. I mean she gets mad at him for the type of Facebook friends he has and seemed unaware that he had a life before he met her. Now I could honestly get past all that, but what I couldn't deal with was the fact that she completely ditched him for over a month over a misunderstanding that was treys fault, but didn't warrant her response. Oh and she knew what he was going through in that month because her friend was still in touch with his friend. I do think she made up for it in a sense at the very very end but I honestly just found her too annoying to be completely redeemed.

Overall it was a decent book that was only redeemed because of Trey. Bless him.

Just Stay is a great read. It's not a fluffy read, the characters have some heavy issues to deal with. It's written a little different. It has two POVs. The first half of the book is in Pia's POV and the second half of the book continues with Trey's POV.

Pia is a recently high school grad who is set to attend university. She is stuck on a vacation with her family. She meets Trey a local boy. I loved Trey and Pia first meeting and when Trey meets Pia's family it's equally as funny.

Trey seems to be laid back but he has some heavy things to deal with. When we meet his mother we know that something just isn't right with her. I though she was a little crazy but when you find out why she acts the ways she does, you can't help but feel bad for her.

Pia and Trey have a relationship. Going into the relationship Pia has no intentions of having a long term relationship but fate may have something else in mind for Pia and Trey.

Towards the end of the book there were a few twists that I was surprised with. I felt like the end was a little rushed and I would have loved to have read more about Trey and Pia.

Pia is on a trip with her family, since it may be the last they have in a while. She will be heading to Uni in a couple of weeks. She meets Trey a local that is rumoured to be a big playboy.
Trey is immediately taken by Pia and finds out quickly she isn’t like the other girls in his past, but he has secrets that keep him form a life of his own.

This is a lovely, bittersweet tale of two young people becoming adults. I found it very beautiful. I felt like was on vacation with Pia and her family. I love the charm of it being set abroad. There is some sex in it so it’s not for very young people, but I found it done tastefully. I fell in love with Trey myself and my heart went out to him.
I recommend this to anyone that likes stories about new adults, coming of age, grief, loss, chefs, Cornish pasties, vacations, and some sweet, hot sex.

Pia and Trey, What a love story

The first half of the book is told in the first person by Pia, the main female character. The second half of the book is told in the first person by Trey, the main male character. Not an easy thing to do. I would call it a tragic love story and an adult romance novel. Michelle Abbott does a great job of building the characters, including the supporting actors and actresses. She really gets inside the characters and makes them feel real. The story has a tragic hero and a young heroine who finds herself in a summer romance, as she is about to begin her "uni" life. A well told story and worthy of a 5 star review. I gladly recommend 'Just Stay' to anyone who likes adult romances.

Pia is a typical 19 year old about to go to college. Her family takes one last vacation before hand and there are a few surprises - enter Trey. A persistent musician/chef, he has many layers. Just when I thought I had him figured out, something else was revealed. Despite Pia's reluctant interest, their relationship soon turns into a full blown romance, with a few bumps along the way.
Filled with great characters, including a few that you'll love to hate. Trey was constantly breaking my heart, crying out for someone to love him and to prove that they care. Abbott did a great job of pulling the reader into the story and keeping them there.
Overall, I would say Just Stay is a sweet story of young love overcoming many obstacles. It's a great read.

Sweet and innocent Pia finds Trey rude and arrogant, but utterly irresistible. Her lust for him is slowly worn down as he swoons her into his heart.

Trey finds Pia different from the other girls he's conquered during their family vacations. He fights to show her the side of him that hasn't had him labelled as a man-whore.

Pia fights to trust Trey as much as he fights to hold his life from falling apart. In the end, the truth sets them both free. Love overcomes all obstacles.

I couldn't put this book down, and seriously hope that Michelle does a sequel. My love for Pia and Trey is only overshadowed by my desire to see what happens to Trey's family.

I was kindly gifted this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

This is not your typical romance lovey dovey sex book. This hits home on some real issues that we dont really want to think about. Its sad, heartbreaking and sweet. It makes you think about the world around you. I had tears reading. I really do hope this is a series as i would really love to see where all the relationships go.
