Hayley Haslett must try-out for the right to renovate nine historic houses by working with her biggest competitor--Cole Granger. The president of the preserveration society insists they work together. Cole doesn't mind this. He and his men will do the real work and leave the interior decorating to Hayley. But Hayley's tired of men under-estimating her and Hayley's too much for Colt to resist.
The only child of a very rich man, Hayley's been pampered and under-estimated all her life. She's eager to accept the challenge Cole represents. If only she didn't respond to him so quickly. He's hot and sexy and Hayley knows she's in big trouble

Her husband and she married when she was only nineteen and he was barely twenty-one, proving that early marriage can make it, but only if you’re really lucky and persistent. They went through college and grad school together. She not only loves him still, all these years later, she still likes him—which she says is sometimes harder. They have two funny, intelligent and highly accomplished daughters. Carol loves writing and hopes you enjoy reading her work.
Cole Granger and Hayley Haslett have both bid for the same restoration contract and when he suggests they work together her only choice is Challenge Accepted or withdraw her bid for the nine house project.
Disagreements, compromises and learning to work together bring Cole and Haley closer together as romance develops. Financial problems and interference from her father add realistic dimensions to the the love story. I enjoyed Challenged Accepted because the emotions, responsibilities and commitment were major part of the story.
This was only okay for me. I liked the story but it was just a little love story. It wasn’t anything mind-blowing or so amazing that everyone should read it because it’s life changing. It was just alright. I felt there should have been something more to the story. When I was done I felt a little disappointed that there wasn’t anything more to it.
DNF. I tried. I really did. Sexist filled story I'm supposed to find romantic? Free kindle download. I found a reference in the story to this being set in the 1990s (not that it in any way excuses the sexist references), but this seems to be the only edition. I might have been a little more forgiving if I knew it was an older story re-released.
Hayley + Cole = a very good read. Hayley was a contradiction loving & sweet; yet guarded. Afraid to trust less she lose her sense of self. Cole is strong enough to let Hayley be who she needed to be. Sweet story
Ok 4 1/2 stars because every time she talked about Hayley's hair she left out the word "hair" and a few times I had to reread the sentence or paragraph to be sure that's what she was talking about...... Other than that a great story
A very enjoyable if predictable story. The characters are well thought out and compliment each other effortlessly. I don't like that there were a few items left hanging such as one characters apparent theft but overall a pleasant way to spend an afternoon.
Poorly written, lots of spelling mistakes, lots of grammar mistakes and poorly edited. Words missed out in sentences, new paragraphs started half way through words.
A few things need to be fixed. The editing, I usually don't complain about it but, there's words missing. Everything was so fast passed I couldn't connect with the characters relationship.
Hayley and Colt have their ups and downs but in the end they get their happily ever after! This is the second book I have read from author and I really like her style of writing.
