Angelstone

Rate this book
After escaping from the Hollows, Jordan takes Alyx and Israel to Aradale, a secret Rogue community, where they appear to be safe − for now. But did they bring the enemy with them? “Mini”, the strange and speechless young girl they rescued from the Hollows, is not as she seems. Why was Elder Michael keeping her locked up? What is she hiding?

Out in the mortal cities, pieces of Black Stone, the only material that can disrupt the angels’ healing abilities, continue to be stolen to make weapons for Samyara’s dark army. Alyx and her friends must stop them, but this means infiltrating holy and guarded places to steal the Black Stone − a monastery in remote China, a mosque in Saudi Arabia, an art gallery in Florence and a cathedral in Peru.

Can they win this deadly race against the Darkened?

Hanna is the bestselling author of the Bound romantic suspense series and the Dark Angel fantasy series. Although she writes in more than one genre she can’t write a book without weaving together a complicated plot and filling it with twists. She writes what she believes: good people can do bad things, ordinary people can do great things, and choose love above everything.

If not writing, she can be found wandering a dusty market in Marrakesh or trekking a mountain in Peru, often using her travels as settings in her novels.

Well I’m finished with this book. I read it and it was a slow read until the very end. Literally the very end, it was the last 15%.

In all honestly I didn’t expect anything from this, not in a bad way like this is going to be awful, no I mean it in the total and absolute sense of “meh”. I liked the idea, still do, but something was still missing here or rather something extra was added that it doesn’t belong *cue The Sesame Street song*.

I have absolutely no idea why this book went by oh so very slow. I can attempt a guess and that is the fact that for most of the book Alyx was The an annoyance, epic proportions. No matter what was happening around her, her behaviour and thought patterns were that of a child.

The first book was a solid start to what seems to be a good story but somewhere something goes askew. Maybe it’s the writing. At occasions its meh, on other small intervals its good but there are others were it makes characters and situations worse.

I’m not going to elaborate and actually review this with positive and negatives, because reasons.
Either way, I read it and I’m glad I did so despite the increased feeling of “meh” I got from it. Let’s see what it’s stored for me in book #3.

P.S: There were parts that i did like :3 *kitty face*

RIP Ky. Alyx is not pregnant. Hope she will get back with Israel soon. Also hope Israel will be okay. Wonder what Mason is thinking now. Glad we were able to go into the Rogue communities.

WOW...just...really...just wow. Speechless. I hated that it had to end. My eyes kept flicking down to the percentage number with a sinking heart knowing that the book was coming to an end!

Alyx...she is just the most wonderful character written since Clary/Tessa by Cassandra Clare. She is brave, emotional, passionate, strong, caring and loving. She makes mistakes, she fights to put them right. She loves someone, she does it with all her heart. She cares for someone, she will protect them until her last breath! She is loyal to her friends, fierce in battle and despite being a supernatural warrior, she is still a woman who can get jealous when other women go near her man.

Israel...is it possible to love him and hate him at the very same time? He is sexy and insecure about his masculinity. He struggles with Alyx's need to protect him all the time. It makes him feel less of a man and he longs to prove to her that he can take care of himself, that he can protect her as she protects him. Only, unfortunately for Israel, he makes terrible decisions, all out of passion and the need to prove himself.

The thing I love most about the love story in this book is that the romance between Alyx and Israel is full of mistakes and fights that they work through. No matter what separates them, they take the time to understand each other and forgive each other. While their romance is important, the events playing out around them are serious and they understand that saving the world is far more important than their love life, which is refreshing to read.

And my GOD! Hanna Peach knows how to leave you wanting more at the end of the book! She leaves you in suspense and still thinking about what you have just read. I read this book for so long that I ended up dreaming about the characters. Full scenes played out in my head. It takes real talent to do that to a reader and Peach definitely has skill. I really can't wait for the third book!

**I was given this book in exchange for an honest review, Lovers of Paranormal.**

I'm loving this series more and more with each book it seems.

Angelstone takes place right where Angelfire left off...which is an incredibly good thing since there is so much action in these books once you hit the end of each one it feels like your spontaneously combust if you don't read the next one immediately!

I loved Israel so much more in this book. He definitely had the redemptive quality that I was looking for with him and he was just better as a character (more understanding, enticing and all around swoon-worthy guy!). I missed reading about Mayrekk since he wasn't really in this book and it didn't really leave it the greatest with him in the last book, but he still holds a great place in my heart with me...my new favorite love though was MASON, he was a great character, so funny!...and VIX! I loved her, super strong :)

I had mixed feelings for Jordan the whole time, mostly because I thought I'd LOVE him as a character...but ehh he's alright...not who I thought he'd be, but I'd miss him if he was gone ;)

I loved those small moments we got to see Alyx and Israel had, however brief and bitter sweet they seemed to be.

I honestly couldn't tell you where this book ended at this point, because I got so mad at how book 2 ended that I didn't even pause and dove straight into the 3rd book...thank goodness I had it!

LOVE this series so far, I can't wait for more :)

I really enjoyed Angelstone, it picked up not long after the first book ended. Alyx has developed even more as a character and grown a lot in this book. She's starting to think more like an adult than as a teenager. A lot of the other characters developed as well, and some have a bigger role in Angelstone. I'm totally all for Alyx and Jordan hooking up, I don't think Israel is good enough for her. You get a better idea of what a freethinker is, and how their world works. Also, the plot becomes more complicated because more POVs are introduced. You get most of the story from Alyxs prospective, but some of the story is told in short chapters by the "bad guys". I really enjoyed the fact that there were multiple issues going on at once, your not bombarded by things, but it definitely holds your attention. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for something with some romance, adventure, and paranormal with some mystery.

Angelstone Dark Angel Series #2

I was given this book by the Lovers of Paranormal in am exchange of an honest review.

Angelstone, is much more complicated than the first book of this series.....there is anticipation suspense in every word while the heroes are still learning about themselves..

They discover well-hidden secrets and facts about their world that show them a much more powerful war on their hands.

Elder Michael is evil though a seraphim and Lucifer is trying to help, the rules have definetely changed.

Alyx is full of rough edges but with a heart of gold. Israel is just a confused broken boy wanting nothing but the salvation he sees in Alyx's eyes. And Jordan, well Jordan is a different kind of his own, the things he witnessed make him wiser and colder, nonetheless we love him

"The prophecies talk about a Seraphim and a demon-mortal that fall in love." -Mayrekk

If you loved Angelfire, you definitely want to read Angelstone. With even more action and romance, you will be taken on one heck of a ride. I loved following Alyx and Israel in their new adventure in Aradale. We get to meet new characters who just like the these two are both intriguing and entertaining to read about. More things are also revealed about certain characters, such as the true identity of Mini and the reason she was held captive by Elder Michael. I also loved the minor mentions of social issues that were integrated. I feel that it brought more depth into the book as it was easy to relate to real life even though its set in a world different from ours.

"A mortal and a Seraphim. It was an impossible love. But her heart didn't seem to care about this. Foolish heart. Why wouldn't it behave? Why wouldn't it just want what it should want? Instead of what it shouldn't." -Alyx

ALYX

After the betrayal she experienced from someone she was close to and grew up with, she was left feeling so betrayed and gutted. Her arrangement with Israel to just be friends sure isn't helping. In the new community of Aradale, Alyx meets several new rogue seraphim. Including some who come from her old home. With their help, she discovers that Mini is much more than she seems and that this little girl has been through some horrible experiences. We see her mature some more as she transitions from what she's known her entire life into the world of a FreeThinker. Many things she was told while growing up aren't relevant in this new world. Those who she always saw as the enemy may be more than they seem and can be her greatest ally. As she and her new friends plan to steal the remaining black stone everything seems to be going great, that is until the plan is executed. When their plan plays out, everything goes mostly smooth only, maybe too smoothly. The execution of the plan totally spirals down hill and leads to tragedy as they are outsmarted. When she comes up with a very clever plan to make things right, her plan doesn't end up the way she thought and now the one person who means the world to her is on the verge of death and it is up to her to safe him and the fate of the world.

"His mouth fit over hers like a puzzle piece clicking into place. Her body ignited at his touch. This was what was missing with Jordan. Only Israel could make her feel this way." -Alyx

"Alyx realized this possessive feeling towards Israel, this protective instinct that ruled her actions and behavior towards him, which made her act crazy, feel crazy…she was completely and totally in love with Israel. Nothing but love could make anyone act and feel this crazy. And, Angel help her, did she feel crazy. -Alyx

ISRAEL

In this book, Israel is faced with many revelations. He discovers that maybe he's not the powerless street kid he's always thought he was. That there's a greater explanation for his second sight. As he discovers that he is half demon, he becomes angry and starts to hate himself for what runs through his veins. Because of the way he found out this truth, he also feels extremely betrayed for being kept from this secret from someone he cares so much about. This leads to a confrontation where he finds out that Alyx may be pregnant. They do end up getting her checked out to see if she is or not and there is a diagnosis. I selfishly hope it ends up being wrong hehe ;-) but who knows, we'll just have to see as the series moves further. In Aradale, he also makes a friend named Vix, a light warrior who through personal experience helps him on his quest to save Adere. With the help of someone from Vix's past he realizes that his demon side is both a blessing and a curse. He is repulsed by being half of something he hates but at the same time because of that side of him, he's not as defenseless as he thought he was. Through the heroic act of saving Adere, he is severely wounded in the process. His life now hangs in the balance and things sure aren't looking so great for him. Though many things were revealed to him, one thing still remains hidden. If he dies, she dies.

"You're not perfect," he continued, "and neither am I. But we're perfect…for each other. I mean., Jesus, Alyx, you saw us in there… we're better together. Isn't that what we're all seeking? The one who makes us better than when we are alone?" -Israel

"I could be good for you. I could show you things, teach you about the world, about your limits, about pleasure, pain and everything in between…You have so much potential, Alyx, you just need a good teacher. I think that somewhere under this hesitation," he waved one hand around her, "you feel something for me too." -Jordan

JORDAN

We are introduced to him in the first novel but don't really get to know much about him. All we really know about Jordan is that he is a former Castus turned Rogue/FreeThinker who has been working secretly alongside Mayrekk for quite some time helping new Rogues escape. In this book we get to know him a little better by seeing him in his element. It is apparent that the residents of Aradale are very important to him. Putting them before himself, he is loved by all in the community and has become their protector. As Alyx and Israel come to Aradale, it is evident, especially to those closest to him, that he has feelings for Alyx. Known as a player, he seems to be willing to leave it all behind if that's what it takes to be with Alyx. He tries to show her that he could be good to her if only she gave him the chance but she makes it clear that her heart is Israel's. I love that although it hurt him, he took it in stride. He decides that if being her friend is all he can be, he'll take it as long as he gets to have her in his life; its enough.

"Getting over your first can be…the most difficult thing in the world. More difficult than facing an army of Darkened, even. When your heart is so filled with love and loss for another, there is no room for anyone else. There is no room for me. Maybe in time…" His lip tilted up in a small smile and he reached out to squeeze her knee. "What you need now more than anything is a friend. I'd like to be that friend." -Jordan

Overall, Angelstone is a wonderful sequel to a series that will keep you at the edge of your seat. With enemies becoming more lethal and creative, it's really hard not to get captivated as things have reached a new level. Revelations in this book will leave you in shock, frustration, and some will make you want to step into Alyx's shoes to do some serious ass kicking. You will not be disappointed!

Angelstone picks up where Angelfire left off: on the run from both Darkened and Angels, and the plans that these enemies have put into motion. Things are a bit more dangerous for the characters that were introduced in Angelfire, as they are being pursued by both the Darkened and some Angels through various towns of the world. This time, the focus is on how to stop the Darkened. They’re the biggest threat, because they have a weapon that can fatally injure Seraphim. Alex and Israel have to deal with their changing relationship as they are planning some of the biggest cons in the human world. Getting away without alerting the humans that some of their prized pieces of art and cultural artifacts are suddenly disappearing won’t be easy. Adding to the tension is the Darkened, actively searching for the Free Angel community.

The second novel in the series really opened up the story. The relationship between the angels and the human world was expanded upon and we were able to see how they fit–and hid–in the world as Free Angels. I did enjoy that we got to see angels in different cities around the world, but I wish more detail had been given to the places, particularly the group in China. Most of the detail fell on the missions that they were participating in rather than the places the missions were occurring. This is more the fault of Israel and Alex as narrators, because they can’t be everywhere at once. Even though it wasn’t as detailed as I would have liked, the missions were well thought out and written. The bulk of them didn’t occur off screen, which made for a very enjoyable and fast paced read. I also felt that the danger that was hinted at in Angelfire really hit home in Angelstone. There are often more consequences for her actions and that of the free community than Alex realizes. I feel mean to say it, but I’m glad that there are consequences. It gives this fantasy story an element of realism because there’s so much that they all can lose. Everything is not dandy. I’m not sure how much will be lost by the time the series is over, and I like that I don’t know how it will end. I only have vague predictions at this point.

I loved that Israel took on a bigger role in this novel. Although both novels were in Alex and Israel’s perspectives, Angelfire focused a bit more on Alex. The perspectives were a bit more even this time, which allowed Israel to shine more in Angelstone. We know from the first novel that Israel is a pretty good fighter because he’s survived this long, but other details weren’t expanded on. His status as half human and demon is explored and we learn that he has more to him than meets the eye. He can fight forces better than he thought possible, he’s just untrained. He’s becoming more rounded as a character. Additionally, we’re able to get into his head a bit more. We can feel and relate to how he reacts to events in the novel rather than getting Alex’s guesses of how he’s feeling. I’m glad that he became more active in the story.

One of my favorite parts of Angelstone was how realistic Alex and Israel’s relationship is portrayed. In this genre, there are many times when the troubles occur in the time leading up to the relationship–“Does he like me?” “Will their circumstances allow them to be together?”–and once the relationship begins, there are little to no problems. Or the “problems” aren’t truly problems at all. Everything becomes all lovey-dovey and perfect. So reading how Alex and Israel’s relationship goes through rough patches was really refreshing. She’s this Seraphim who has always protected humans from Darkened. That was her job, and she has a really hard time leaving that behind in the relationship. Even though Israel has been surviving on his own before she became his Guardian, she still sees humans as a whole as weaker beings who need protection. She doesn’t always recognize that he can fend for himself and it annoys him to no end. Their problems start here. He reacts negatively when he feels she is treating him like a child. He allows his anger to be bottled up on the inside until he can’t contain it and it explodes out. He needs to learn how to control his anger and talk through it rather than holding it in. By recognizing their problems they are able to deal with them. This is possibly my favorite part, however. Although they’ve recognized their problems, it’s not fixed immediately. The novel doesn’t skip over the fact that getting over jealousy and anger is hard. Deciding to treat the other fairly before engaging in a physical relationship is healthy. If they didn’t, it would only breed resentment. The switching perspectives gives a really great look at how they both work and where their faults lie. I was fairly impressed at the portrayal of their changing relationship.

Angelstone ends on a cliffhanger that again leads into the next novel in the series. I love that this series doesn’t have everything go right. Too many times the protagonists in novels suddenly overcome problems without a lot of effort going into it, so although things may not have all been very satisfying in Angelstone, I think the payoff at the end of the series will be worth it. It is clear that Hanna Peach had clear intentions of where she wanted the story to go when she started Dark Angel.

Again, 5 stars. A big thank you to Hanna Peach for providing me with a copy of Angelstone.

I still struggled with this. It's not bad just not really for me. I like the way they go around the world looking for the Blackstone but for me it just drags on. One of the only reasons why I'm reading to third book is because I'm a sucker for a big battle and you know one is coming. I just can't connect to the characters.

Angelstone picks up right where Angelfall left us – Alyx, Israel, Jordan & Mini have all escaped with their lives but not to safety, not yet - for their battle is just beginning. As they journey to the rogue community, Jordan becomes a teacher to both Alyx & Israel separately as Alyx tries to master the dreamscape in order to be less vulnerable to Michael and Israel attempts to block the magic that left him feeling weak & vulnerable. Alyx is struggling with her feelings for Israel and even though she ended it at the end of the last book, she finds it hard to shut her emotions down and whilst Israel’s heart and attention seem to be solely on Adere – he can never truly be hers – plus there’s also a couple of secret issues to consider, tangling her thoughts and emotions. Jordan further complicates matters when he reveals he wants Alyx for himself. The trio seem to be at a stalemate, not able to move here nor there for complications. When they finally reach the rogue stronghold that Jordan calls home, Alyx, Israel & Mini are introduced to the rebellion. Using magic on Mini, we finally find out what Michael’s plans for the youngster were, how she was treat and how they want her but in uncovering Mini’s secrets, someone else’s secrets are in turn revealed…. So now Michael’s plans are found, so are Samyaras – to find the Black Stone and turn it into weapons against the Seraphim – so it’s up to the rogues/free thinkers to thwart their plan by beating them to the punch but will things run smoothly because just as much as the rogues hold information, so too does their enemy.

This was a great sequel, the action and plot really got moving for me and kept my interest all the way through. I really liked Alyx & Israel’s progression as characters both as a pair and alone. Alyx, whilst still kick ass, showed a softer more vulnerable side as her warring emotions came to the forefront, she is realising the depth of her feelings for Israel, comparing those with Jordan and she even took on a maternal role towards Mini. I loved to read this happen because she always seemed to be ever the warrior and I think it softens her and endears her more to the reader. Same with Israel, although I had never viewed him as weak we get an insight to the fact that he never thinks he is good enough and even makes attempts to rectify it which actually makes him seem braver in some ways, like he’s becoming more dominant and making people sit up and notice him. As a pair they could be unstoppable, they gel, they fit together like puzzle pieces but that doesn’t mean they will just do it, they have a lot more upheaval in their futures and their ‘relationship’ in whatever form it comes must be worked out as much as their own selves.

The plot was a lot more exciting for me and the pacing was spot on. I struggled with the first book for a while because there was a lot to get across but I knew that once that was over ,that things would pick up and Angelstone was solid all of the way through. I love it when a book keeps me on my toes and this did. I liked the introduction of the new characters and also the appearance of some old friends, each had something to give to the story whilst not distracting from the main characters. There are a good few questions from book one answered in this which was satisfying but also lead onto more questions about what’s to come. I think the whole storyline & the world that has been created are great, I love the diverse collection of people, I love the way they use magic. I even like how the bad guys roam the earth… it’s all quite unique, intriguing & exciting! I can’t wait to see where things will go now, especially following the ending we got in this – I suppose it can only get better because this definitely surpassed book one.

with the fingers of his left hand, he pushed the long lock of her hair behind her ears and her shoulder, exposing her ear and her neck. Alyx thought he seemed pleased at her reaction. he leaned down to touch his lips to her ear....

"That my angel, was an incentive. A preview of what we could have"

Israel is so freaking sexy!! okay that's it, let's go down to the real business, here's my review.

This book has brought back to me that distinctive feeling I felt when I was reading Divergent and Insurgent with its actions and a heroine that we will surely love. After finishing the first book I knew that this will be more action-packed, there will be more Darkened to be defeated, more revelations and more characters will be introduced and be involved. I kind of like that there are various setting that this book has taken place at and it made me laugh that at least I knew what those places' significance are. The new characters that, well yes, will be involved in the angels-demons-mortals circle are awesome, I mean they have their different perspective about this imminent peril.

Here, I admired Alyx's character even more, I think apart from Tris Prior and Katniss Everdeen, she is another heroine that has no issues and less drama carrying with her. And of course, her perfect match Israel who always doesn't want his ego to be hurt.

I got even more intrigued and voracious to know if Alyx really is pregnant or not. That alone kept me on the edge of my seat. Alyx and Israel romance always gets me excited, they are not the kind of OTP that you will wish to be rekindled or reconciled right away after an argument. They are the kind of perfect that will take time, they will fix what has to be fixed first before getting back to each other, some kind of missions first-romance later, something like that. And I think I'm fine with that, all along it was the fighting anyway so I might as well set aside my expectations for a steamy romance between Alyx and Israel. And like what I've said earlier, I even admired Alyx here because even though she's tough throughout the whole book, at the end of the day, she's still a girl and you know what it is like when a girl falls in love.I liked it when she gets jealous of whoever the hell is near Israel, and I liked it when Israel notices it and just smirks.

Moving on, the two characters that left an impact to me were ky and Jordan.Jordan because he is the kind of a third wheel for Alyx and Israel. His sexuality kinda confuses me, but it was his view about sexual orientation that made me love him, for him it doesn't matter if he likes a girl or a guy, what important is the package that comes with them. oohh lala! Next is Ky,I am not sure what's with this kid that made my heart kind of flip from being all stoned due to all these actions to being fluffy when he was introduced. I know that each characters' journey was different from beginning to the end but Ky's is not only different, it was really unexpected.

So to finish this review, I would like to say that there was never a bland moment during my reading, I actually stayed up late just to finish this, well kind of understatement to say this but this book pushes you to finish it as soon as you can due to extreme excitement and I couldn't care less of the dark circles under my eyes, what important to me is to finish the hell this.

Wow!!! Just.....I don't even know what to say!!!!

Angelstone picks up right where book one left off. Alyx with Jordan's help has rescued Israel and the mysterious girl Mini from Michael's hollows. Israel and Alyx have decided to be "just friends" (as if that's even possible!!!). This story does not disappoint!

I'm always leery about sequels. Usually they fall short of the first book, but this one does not! The action and suspense immediately pick up with Samyara leaving bodies for Alyx and Israel with their names burned onto them (a little homage to Israel doing this to the Darkened when looking for his friend Adere). Jordan takes them to a Rogue society for help and guidance. With the help of new friends (Tobias, Lucas, Ana, Dianne, and Vix), Alyx and Israel determine how to find the Black Stone before Samyara can use it to make more weapons.

I loved the growth we see in Israel during this book. At the beginning he feels unworthy of Alyx and her love for him which is why he let her go without a fight at the end of book one. But as he finds out things about himself that Alyx knew and kept from him, his anger gets control of him. With the help of an unlikely friend, he finds control over this anger and his newfound abilities. His transformation from unworthy to wanting and feeling he can be Alyx's equal is heart wrenching and a much needed emotional journey for this character.
Don't judge me for what I am. -Balthazar

During book one, the author established how hard it was for Alyx to trust others. During this book, she must learn to trust if she is going to fulfill her job as Guardian. And it's not just other Rogues, she must learn to trust herself, Israel, and a demon.
"We need to talk," he said.
The four worst words of any language. Except maybe for "I love her instead" or "he dies, you die."
-Alyx

This book is heartbreaking as we see what happens to Alyx and Israel's relationship. Between the two of them finding out who they are (Alyx who she is without the Seraphim society and Israel as he deals with his heritage) separately and how they can't live without the other it's an emotional roller coaster, at least for Alyx. Alyx's insecurities leave her feeling like she is not loved when Israel loves her more than himself and feels he does not deserve her. And then the dreaded love triangle begins with Jordan.....I must say I didn't like this at all! I despise love triangles as I feel it's a cop-out for bringing conflict in a relationship. At least it's one-sided and Alyx does not reciprocate.

The suspense and action of this book left me holding my breath. I couldn't read fast enough to find out just what was going to happen to these characters. Are some things predictable? Yes and no. I'll let you read and decide that for yourself.

Can't wait to start in on book three! This author definitely knows how to leave you hanging and begging for more!!!!

I received a copy of this ebook from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this second book of the Dark Angel series. I was lucky to read an ARC of this book too. I can't wait now to the next one! I am so hooked. I need to know what happens now!

This book starts right were the first one leaves us. Alyx is still worried that she may be carrying Isreal's child which would be a bad thing, and you know why if you read book one. Thats all I will say on that. Isreal also finds out some things about himself from someone who helped him discover it, wont say more on that either.

I was so up in the air for awhile on which guy Alyx should be with too, Jordan, or Isreal. I still lean toward Jordan, but the story keeps wanting us to like Isreal, lol. It just isn't happening for me I guess. I think part is that Isreal just doesn't seem attractive at all to me, physically for sure, but not even his personality either. I think Jordan sounds hot, and he is a great guy to me. But that is my personal opinion.

The story itself, besides the guys, is amazing. Kept me hooked right away. I didn't have that lost feeling I did when i first read the first book Angelfire. Only one part is still confusing to me, is, do these Seraphine have wings or not? They fly, and the covers show wings, but the way everything is described it seems they do not have wings, but do fly still. Yeah, that part of it is still a mystery to me. If I didn't see wings on the cover on the girl, I would not have assumed that they do have wings. As its not mentioned at all. Ohwell, small detail, not a big deal.

I was so sad at a few parts, but wont say why. So much death in this one (not too much, but any when its the good guys is too many to me)

I was on the edge of my seat for sure the last half of this book. I really love this story, and highly recommend it to anyone who likes paranormal reads. Not much romance in this, more action and thrills.

Oh, boy what a cliffhanger this one is though!! It will have you pulling your hair out for sure!!

Fans of The Mortal Instruments will love this I think. Give them both a try.

5 out of 5 stars for me. Highly recommended.

I was provided this book from the author for my honest review.

(FYI. you can still get book one, Angelfire free at Amazon, and for a few days only you can get this book for $.99, ends June 1, 2013)

Direct link to my blog to read the first chapter if you want.

Angelstone begins with Alyx and Israel in Tara. It's a tad more intense then Angelfire. The emotions that seemingly just run amok in this book are felt in every instance by the reader.
I particular liked the scenes in the dreamscape. Alyx's fear of Michael rolls off her in wave after wave and every bit of that fear latches onto the reader. Just like with Angelfire, the reader will easily forget that they are not part of the story.
Jordan, Alyx, and even Passar have some very strong emotional sway in this book. I found their emotions and scenes were a bit easier to follow this time around than Israel's.
As with book one, book's two descriptions are up to par, the reader will flawlessly slide in and out of each scene seamlessly.
This one definitely has a higher emotion rate, and if the reader is one of those who emerces themselves into a book with everything they are, there will definitely be some anger and tears as tears.
I without a doubt await Angelsong book 3 in this series.

I give this book 5 of 5 paws

Despite being 48 chapters I find it a quick read. That's how much I was into the book to the point when I got to the ending, it made me want more. Actually when I saw how many chapters it was I thought it was quite long but apparently I was wrong. It made me crave fore more. Luckily I have book 3 with me.

Hannah Peach did really well in writing her characters both on the sides of those wanting to keep the balance and those who wants to tip the scale.

I'm loving Israel more and more. I expected him to grow more as a character and he did. He was able to start working out his problems (and I have to thank that elder) with himself especially with his relationship with Alyx. He was able to make that initiative wherein Alyx wasn't able to do it but I can't seem to hate her. I agree with Israel's decision with her relationship to Alyx. They must first workout their problems and saving the world before putting their relationship first but it's better because he was able to tell her what he wanted to have in their relationship and told it to Alyx so she would understand because Alyx seemed to have the tendency to jump to conclusions.

I did not know what to think of Jordan. I like him as a character but not as a love interest for Alyx. He's too sure of himself especially where Alyx is concerned but what's nice about him is that he's one of the good guys and respects Alyx. Although I kind of pissed at Alyx because she was able to tell Jordan about what she (kind of) feels but she's not honest to Israel. I was hoping that she might learn her lesson wherein she thought she almost lost Israel and just tell him the truth but that did not happen instead I got the ending. That very cliff hanger ending.

Besides their romance, the story itself is interesting and you couldn't help it but be suck in their world.

I'd like to thank the author for giving me the opportunity to read and review her book.

I got this book from the author free of cost, in exchange of an honest review from my side.
Firstly I would like to thank Hanna Peach, author of Angel Stone for giving me this opportunity of reading and reviewing this fabulous book.
The sequel takes off just from the place where book 1 ended. The little group of warrior along with Alyx, Israel, Jordan, Mini moves to Aradale from the Hollows to start their fight with the demons and the darkened. This si not just enough for them because the demons have got their hands on theblack stone which has the capacity of destroying the healing capability of the Seraphim. Now Alyx must stop them and in order to do so she and her group has to raid the holy places and steal the black stones before the demons lay their hands on it. Oh and the breaking news? Alyx may be pregnant, yes guys you heard me right! And who is the father? Of course you don’t need the answer because ya all know!
I really got blown by this book. It’s awesome really! I loved book 1 but this sequel just surpassed it totally. As usual the writing style is fabulous and the characters are flourished and developed. I loved Alyx even more and she really developed and became more mature in this sequel. Israel is sexy as ever but Jordan really caught everyone’s attention here. The mystery about Mini and her weirdness really spooked me but made the read interesting as well. The deadly race between Alyx and the demons for the black stone is executed perfectly and I could play the whole chasing scenes in visual throughout the story. The action scenes were never ending it the story didn’t seem to bore me for even a second. A great and must read for ya all and hope that you’ll love it as much as I did.
I got this book from the Lovers of Paranormal Group of Goodreads under the Read to Review Scheme!

I would like to give another HUGE THANKYOU to the author for letting me review her book for free. Much appreciated.
Once again Ms. Peach brings us an amazing book. I love the first one but THIS ONE was just the best. This time I was hooked from the first chapter and I loved finding out more about what was going to happen.

With the second book, the story flowed and really had me intrigued from the first chapter compared to the beginning of the first book.
I also loved the humour used in this book. There were some laugh out loud moments and it was a nice balance to have against the other seriousness of the plot.

I liked the introduction of new characters. They added a nice quality and they were a nice contrast to what readers were exposed to in the first book. I also love how Alyx and Israel fight. I don't know about anyone else, but, when two MCs fight, it is gold in a book for me. Especially since Alyx is Israel's guardian. Talk about HOTT-TENSION! :)I am loving relationship between the two too.

I was also curious about how they "fly". They just seem to fly but it's unclear whether they have their wings attached to them or not. HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA... so I always alternate between imagining them with wings and them just "magically floating" away. But then if I imagine them with wings, I always think their wings spring out and just jab people and anything around them because they are that MASSIVE so that's when I go back to imagining them with no wings cause it's less effort for my brain. HAHAHAHAHAAA... I'm weird! xD

This book brought some tears, frustration, excitement, worry and curiosity within me.
I am looking forward to the third book and finding out how it all pans out.
Thanks Hanna Peach - again - and happy reading to you all.

RECOMMENDED: "Fans of The Mortal Instruments [by Cassandra Clare] will love this!"

Angelstone is the second installment of the Dark Angel Series. Again Hanna Peach shows a fine piece of work with Angelstone. With its entertaining story line an interesting read and definitely an orignal story book in the overwhelming paranormal book world.

Angelstone picks up days after the first one left off. Maybe a little to quick because I had a some troubles remembering who was what from book one. There are only a few months between the two books but a little introduction, replay from book 1, Angelfire would have been highly appreciated. That some of the things from book 1 where not really clear to me, was officious when I found out that one of the returning character Samyara, is a man instead of a woman. I did my best to pictures him as a man while I was reading but halfway I gave of and he became a she again. And a character Mimi was also a complete mystery for me. But that can be totally me and maybe has nothing to do with this fantasic book!

Angelsstone is again all about Alyx, she is still in training and working hard on her Dreamwalker abilities. Although she is still struggling with her break-up with Israel and busy with the attention of a second man Jordan, she is also managing to solve the mystery of the robberies.

Angelstone is fast paced, full of action and a small love triangle. I advice to start with book 1 before starting with Angelstone, Angelstone is recommended to Paranormal and Urban Fantasy lovers.

p.s. Angelfire will be FREE through Amazon for 28 May to 1 June 2013. Angelstone will be on sale for US$0.99 for 31 May and 1 June only.

Angelstone is a great continuation of this series. Hanna has a very pleasant reading style that really is enjoyable. Her pacing is still what it needs to be to keep you moving in this series but not rushing you, which are big pet peeves of mine. She just hits it on the head.

Alyx's character continues her development and we really are starting to learn who she is and who she is becoming in her trials. Israel is more of a mystery still, but we are slowly learning how he fits into all of it. There are quite a few more characters in play now that are a great addition to the books. The 2 different types of villains, one a truly bad guy, and one who you would think would be a good guy but has turned bad, is a great way of making this a very intricate story, one that is tough to put down.

The 2nd book also ends on a cliff note, but since I am already on book 3 that does not bother me. Hanna does use these wisely, to draw you right into the next one of the books in the series.

The second book in this series is as good as the first one was, showing new mysteries and revealing some secrets, but nowhere near enough that I would even attempt guessing the rest of the story of Alyx and Israel. I can only highly recommend this series to my fellow lovers of paranormal, since it captivates the reader covering a subbject matter that is still not covered that often, which I enjoy.

I have received this book from the author for an honest review. (LoP, Lovers of Paranormal)

DISCLAIMER: I received a copy of this book in exchange for honest review.

The adventure continues! Our Rogue warriors, half-breeds and refugees are on a mission to stop the Darkened from stealing the rest of the Black Stone. On top of this, they do not realize they may or may not be harboring an unknown enemy. Alyx and Israel are having hard times, and we come across SEVERAL bumps in the roads. More secrets and mysteries unfold. New characters are brought in and you fall in love with them just as much as the other characters.

Just when we think we are getting close, we learn that we are so FAR AWAY from getting to our destination. The plot keeps building and building. Just when you think you might crash, it keeps going.
The ending is not as abrupt (I would think) as the first book, but it does leave you hanging. There are unanswered questions and dying hopes, but there are hints, bit and pieces, that keep the fire going.

The suspense in this book had me over the top. Truly, I was impressed at how easily the author managed to keep the second book just as interesting as the first book, if not more. I tell you, I went a little nutty trying to keep myself together. I definitely think Israel is (as he should be) my favorite character. The budding love triangle is better than I would have expected. Really is great to know that I can keep going in the series. If I didn't have the rest of the books, I think I would go a bit insane.

If there is a way that you can both love someone and want to kill them at the same time then that is how I currently feel about Hanna Peach!!

This book is, to put it simply, amazing!! I loved the 1st book even tho it took a little while to get going, this book however was the complete opposite!! It got going from the 1st page and never stopped,

This picks up from where the 1st book left off with Alyx worrying that she may be carrying Israels child, at the same time she is battling with jealousy with regards to others getting closer to Israel, she is also battling with how she feels about Jordan.

The book centres around their attempts to locate and retrieve the meteorites that can be made into weapons against the Seraphim. During this Israel discovers things about himself with the aid of another (I shall say no more on this!!).

When they move to take the Black Stone this is where the book gets interesting, the pirates are reintroduced and the teams split to retrieve the stones. At this point I would like to say that if you hate cliffhanger endings then you'll be tearing your hair out with the ending of this! But oh what a great cliffhanger it is, all that was going through my mind was the phrase 'if he dies, you die'. On that note all i'll say is BUY THIS BOOK!!!

I was given a copy of this book by the author in return for an honest review.

“This was given to me as an ARC by the author”
“This is a honest review”

Honestly, I was not sure what I was expecting when I started reading this book. I had read the first book long ago and I only remembered vague details about. This book threw away all of my expectations.
It was a great book. It was action packed and interesting. Everything was not as it seemed. Alx was a tough heroine which made me take a liking towards her immediately. She was also not afraid of showing she was scared. If that makes sense. She didn’t mind showing her vulnerability if it means they might get saved. At the beginning of the book there was a bit of a love triangle between Jordan, Israel and Alyx. However, as Alyx quickly realised, she only loved Israel and Jordan was just a really good friend.
Israel was stronger in this book. Laying down his claim to Alyx. He was tired of Alyx thinking he was helpless and who could blame him? He was all man in this book and extremely hot. The way he acted in this book made me gain respect for him. He was smart, fast and finding out powers which he didn’t know existed. He didn’t forgive people easily for lying to him to protect him about the fact he was half demon.
It was a good book and I would like to thank the author for giving me a copy. This book is worth buying and I would recommend it to all the readers reading my review.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the “Lovers of Paranormal” Group on Goodreads.com

There are some sick and twisted angels in this book. Plenty of action and enough plot twists to keep me glued to this book.

This is a great, well written book. The descriptive narrative is amazing. The author knows how to tell a story that is intriguing and kept me guessing.

The characters are great. Alyx sometimes makes me crazy because there are so many times that she doesn't give enough thought to what she is doing and tends to make matters worse. On the other hand, she did come up with some great plans in this book, unfortunately some of them did not turn out the way she hoped they would. I finally found more depth to Isreal's character and I like him much better in this book. That being said, I am actually hoping that something happens between Alyx and Jordan. There have been many great characters added to this book, both evil and good.

This is a wonderful story suitable for both adults and YA readers.

Angelstone is well written and chockfull of suspense, mythology, love, sensuality, combative action.

OMG what else could reader desire? If there is more I think you will find it tucked within the narrative of Angelstone.

Angelstone by Hanna Peach is a sequential to Angelfire and must be read in order to truly appreciate the beauty of the rhythmic energy that surges through the pages of this adventurous, spellbinding book. I am anxiously waiting to see how she will top this one with the next installment. Ms. Peach's talents for bringing heat to the paranormal genre, an “out of this world” standard, exceed my imagination and it is pretty wild.

Ms. Peach has a writing style that sends a steady, electrifying pulse throughout the five senses and for some six senses. I personally delighted in her leading lady; Alyx with her take no prisoners, kick butt attitude. She is a petite angel who demonstrated techniques to the gigantic male gatekeepers to ward off the enemy.

A must read!!

This was so much better than the first! More action, better character development and a better plot. I really enjoyed the first one after it got going but this! This book just blew me away. There was humor in this book. I enjoyed it greatly. I love Alyx! She is a great character!

This books picks up closely after the first and it just jumps into everything. No boring moments, the romance is true and realistic. I love Alyx and Israel together. They are cute and a real couple. Couples fight and have problems and so do they. My favorite part was their romance. The rest of the plot was still great and wonderful but it just took a backseat to the lovely romance.

A will warn you though, there is an epic cliff hanger! So you will want the third one close to grab and start reading. But I recommend this book to anyone who loved the first. Trust me, this was is much better!

Will Leave you Wanting MORE!
This is the second book in the Dark Angel series and is absolutely terrific! The story is even better than the first and I loved that one too! The story picks up where the last book left off and in this story there is a lot of character development and growth, especially with Alyx. The book is once more packed with action and excitement, and had me turning pages frantically needing to know what was going to happen next. I was so engulfed in the story that when someone tried to talk to me, it took a few attempts to gather my attention. As the story went on I went through a bunch of different emotions, from trepidation, to laughs, to frustration and trying to anticipate what was going to happen next. I flew through the book and was disappointed to hit the end, and am headed straight to book 3. I was generously given a complimentary copy of this book for an honest review.

Oh my gosh. I think I will pick my jaw up off the floor now. This book is amazing!!!! Oh and frustrating..... freakin cliff hangers!! But wow. Definitely a supernatural series one should try it. It sucked me right in and I could not put this down. (I'm trying to get this review done a.s.a.p. so I can finish up book 3. Can't leave this book world for too long ;-) )

So the basics is a story about angels, demons, mixed bloods, mortals, elders, powers that are crazy, scary prophecies, questionable alliances, and much much more. This world is in trouble and those who should be trusted are starting terrible things and prophecy signs have been coming true but can these groups prevent certain things from coming to pass? I don't know!! The book ended on a cliff hunger! LOL but that's as much as I can reveal without spoiling everything.

This book is a Page turner. Definitely worth the read!!!

This was simple amazing !!! It took story telling to another lever.
This story center around finding the meteorites to make the Black stones, but it gives you so much more than that!
Each characters brings so emotional baggage with them that it's a struggle to do the right thing. This is a great paranormal story that deals with everyday issues.
Alex and Isreals is so caught up in their lies, jealousy, and dealing with his past that they can endanger the mission.
This was a mind blowing story with amazing cast of characters. I can't wait to read book three!!!

A MUST READ!!!

Just amazing. This book started where it left off. And OOOOOO the tension and plot twists and conflicts between Alyx and Israel is ssooo juicy!

The creative and descriptive writing in this book has really improved since Angelfire. It's very well done.

And might I just say the cover is absolutely beautiful. <3333 ALYX :D

So when there was a brewing romance between Jordan and Alyx, I was all UUGGHH great. A love triangle. But I'm glad that was squashed pretty quickly :) This book just goes above and beyond Angelfire. That's pretty much all I have to say about this book. :)

Congratulations Hannah Peach. You've written yourself a damn good book.
