I am so, so glad this book was free! It was not good. There were formatting errors, misquoted quotes, repeated quotes (I'm fairly certain I saw the same one three times), and it strayed from the topic of happiness. Towards the end, it seemed to be losing steam and resorted to only quoting Oprah for the last 10+ pages. Generally, I'm sad I wasted time on this book.
This was okay, just some quotes to try to live life by. I did notice, however, that they repeated an awful lot of quotes, so it’s not really 365 quotes for each day of the year. Not that it really matters, but it was glaringly obvious.
Here are some of my favorite quotes:
“Time you enjoy wasting is not time wasted.” ~ Martha Troly Curtin
“Happiness is a risk. If you’re not a little scared, then you’re not doing it right.” ~ Sarah Addison
“We all live with the objective of being happy; our lives are all different and yet the same.” ~ Anne Frank
“Expectations make people miserable, so whatever yours are, lower them. You’ll definitely be happier.” ~ Simone Elkes
“You can’t be brave if you’ve only had wonderful things happen to you.” ~ Mary Tyler Moore
“Ahhh. Bed, book, kitten, sandwich. All one needed in life, really.” ~ Jacqueline Kelly
“Happiness is excitement that has a found a settling down place, but there is always a little corner flapping around.” ~ E.L. Konigsburg
“Hurt is a part of life. To be honest, I think hurt is a part of happiness, that our definition of happiness has gotten very narrow lately, very nervous, a little afraid of this bawling, fabulous, unpredictable world.” ~ Julian Gough
“The belief that unhappiness is selfless and happiness is selfish is misguided. It’s more selfless to act happy. It takes energy, generosity, and discipline to be unfailingly lighthearted, yet everyone takes the happy person for granted. No one is careful of his feeling or tries to keep his spirits high. He seems self-sufficient, he becomes a cushion for others. And because happiness seems unforced, that person usually gets no credit.” ~ Gretchen Rubin
“There’s nothing like deep breaths after laughing so hard. Nothing in the world like a sore stomach for the right reasons.” ~ Stephen Chbosky
“Happiness lies in the person sitting beside you and being able to talk to them.” ~ Dennis Lehane
“You cannot protect yourself from sadness without protecting yourself from happiness.” ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
“It is almost as if happiness is an acquired taste, but despair is something surprising each time you encounter it.” ~ Lemony Snicket
“The only way to find true happiness is to risk getting completely cut open.” ~ Chuck Palahnuik
“Of all the means to insure happiness throughout the whole life, by far the most important is the acquisition of friends.” ~ Epicurus
“The best part about dreams is when you are in that fleeting moment, between awake and asleep, when you don’t know the different between reality and fantasy…” ~ Oprah Winfrey
“Maybe you think you’ll be more entitled to happiness later by foregoing all of it now, but that’s not how it works.” ~ C. Joybell C.
“Happiness is a gift, and the trick is not to expect it but to delight in it when it comes.” ~ Charles Dickens
“Sanity and happiness are an impossible combination.” ~ Mark Twain
“There is no greater power than that of a laugh” ~ Hillary DePiano

“You cannot be with someone just because you don’t want to hurt him. You have your own happiness to think about.” ~ Melissa de la Cruz PSA to all the selfish entitled “friendzoned” people out there
“Now and then it’s good to pause in our pursuit of happiness and just be happy.” ~ Guillame Apollinaire
“The worst part of success is trying to find someone who is happy for you.” ~ Bette Midler
“So we shall let the reader answer this question for himself: Who is the happier man, he who has braved the storm of life and lived or he who has stayed securely on the shore and merely existed?” ~ Hunter S. Thompson
“The Constitution only guarantees the American people the right to pursue happiness. You have to catch it yourself.” ~ Author unknown. A VERY important sentiment for the entitled generation to learn, especially those that expect us aspiring writers to write their own stories for them, rather than pursue our own dreams. This has been an anti-SJW PSA.
This book has been a God sent. I have been posting positivity from this book to my social media since January 1st. When Covid-19 hit and everything shut down. This book has helped me stay focus on the good and the importance of what makes me happy. Our essence as people, our values etc. It has also helped to understand myself & others as well. This book probed questions like: Is Happiness determined by changes of by choice? It has opened many thought to folks including myself. Thank you!!!!!
It was free on kindle, but I have to say the quotes were just what I needed to read. I love these little reminders of how amazing life really is and how much we can affect our own moods.
Positive thoughts can inspire positive changes and thus lead to a positive life over all.
Nice book -- just full of quotes! I'm really only happy because I got the ebook for free. The quality of it isn't worthy paying for, in my opinion. Through "365 Days of Happiness" I did happen to locate a few new quotes that were superb. However, it seems that after the half-way point of the book, the quotes were getting off the topic of happiness. Tons and tons of Oprah Winfrey lines were inserted, which got a little boring. Anyways, if you're a quote fanatic, you'd probably still like it.
"Happiness is a gift and the trick is not to expect it, but to delight in it when it comes." - Charles Dickens
The older I get, the happier I want to be. I've learned happiness comes in many forms, but really, it is mostly in the little things. If you follow my Facebook, you would have noticed my status is a happiness quote every day. This is the book I get it from. Each quote leaves me pondering what it means and the depth of it. I also think about how it plays in my life, or how I can implement the teaching into my life. If you are a lover of quotes like I am, this book is totally for you. And for your information, it is still free on Amazon.
I was looking for inspirational quotes for my classroom and this book was free for Kindle. It has some good stuff but it also has some things that are not especially profound and it frequently contradicts itself.
This book had a quote for everyday some repeat themselves in the book. Oprah has a lot of quotes in this book and hers are the ones that are repeated one i saw 4 times in a couple of pages lol.
