I really enjoyed this book. Although it needs additional editing the story is unique. Mr. Beards ability to describe the palace intrigue of the world he so skillfully builds is tense and fun. The villains are everywhere and some characters who seem the most evil are . . . , well, no spoiler here.
The main character is disarmingly sophisticated without being over the top. The MC's ability to persist under heavy pressure from all sides is very well done. Mr. Beard describes the intensity to near perfection.
Very highly recommended.
