And how does he know her name?
Sometimes you find the things you didn't even know you were looking for in the most unexpected places.

Review I picked this book up and started reading…..before I knew it – I was finished. Damn, did it have to end so quickly? I feel like this was just the first part in a budding relationship and I was ready for more. I wanted to know what happens next and THEN - it ended.
I loved Blair’s character…sassy, bitchy, dominant, take the world by the balls type of chick. What girl do you know will walk into a bar and pick up a guy – rock his world – and just leave? That was Blair and did she ever rock West’s life! After one night of passion with “Beautiful” he will never be the same again.
This story drew you in and held your heart and your mind. I rooted for West to find his mysterious girl and I rooted for Blair to finally find some of the happiness she so deserves.
Re-Cap Blair is all alone – everyone and anyone she has ever tried to get close to has left her. She hides behind a mask of bitchiness in order to not get hurt again. She craves human touch in the form of sex and goes out every so often to get her fix. No names – no talk – no phone numbers – JUST SEX!
One night Blair goes out to a off the beat bar and instantly attracts the attention of a customer. She is mesmerized by his tattoos and his eyes. No small talk….Blair just wants to leave and have a night of up against the wall, slamming sex. The guy is all for it and brings her back to his upscale hotel room where the two have the most memorable sex EVER! The guy begs Beautiful to stay with him the night and she relents. Little does this guy know, Blair leaves as soon as she hears the even breaths coming from his mouth.
West wakes up and can’t think of anything else but the girl from the night before. He can’t even concentrate on his upcoming gig that night. You see West is the lead singer of Affliction (one of Blair’s favorite rock bands). It isn’t until that night when Blair has a ticket to see Affliction, that she realizes the guy from the night before is none other than the lead singer!
Between Blair’s insecurities and tightly formed shields around her heart and West’s past with addictions to drugs, alcohol and women…these two are in store for the ride of their lives!
Unexpected is fast read surprisingly, wish the author would have written more. Just as when the pace started picking, the book ended. It would nice to have Book 2 out as I needed more.
The story is about Blair, who wants to hide her past by seeking comfort with strangers, she sleeps around. Enters West one day. She called him Dark and Dangerous.
West is the lead singer of the rock band Affliction.
Their world come to collide again when Blair attends his concert. What happens next?
This book is all about rock star, music, fighting past and steamy sex.
Since this book is a novella that has yet to be publicly released, I will keep my review nice and short in fear of spoiling the entire story since it is under a 100 pages.
Unexpected was just an alright prequel of what's to come. It shows the who, what, where, and how our two lovebirds meet and how their tumultuous affair begins.
I won't go any farther in the story line than this, but, I will say that it includes some steamy sex and two heroines with some serious baggage and issues. Heh... what's new, right, in these types of reads?
So anyway, an okay read that I'm sure many of you will like but I'm still personally debating whether I plan to follow up on the future sequels.
This was a decent read, great for a freebie and even though it's the first in a series, there's no cliffhanger and you could read this as a complete story.
Blair is all alone in the world and just manages to scrape a living doing a job she hates. She goes home with a hot guy she meets in a bar for some no questions asked sex then sneaks away in the night. Next day she goes to a rock concert of a band that - quite improbably - she loves but doesn't recognize and sure enough the lead singer is no other than Mr hot guy himself.
The smut in this was great. It lost me a little when the lust accelerated into insta-love a little too quickly for my liking, but it was an entertaining and deliciously smutty tale so no complaints really.
I was given a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review
This is a really quick read. It's definitely an intro-into-the-series type of book, so this review is going to be pretty quick.
Living in Australia is Blair, who works at a cruddy tattoo parlor, lives in a dinky little apartment, and someone who feels like a worthless cause. We aren't sure what her motives are, but we know she doesn't really respect herself all that much. Especially when she decides to have a one night stand, which won't be her first, with some guy from a bar. She knows the game. Don't tell each other your name. Don't do loving endearments. And don't linger the next morning. Easier said than done when Blair leaves her Driver License on the floor of the guys hotel room... because this guy wants more out of Blair. And it just so happens he's Jake West or West for short... You know, that guy in that uber popular band!
Overall, I think this was a great beginning to the series. I'm giving this book 3.5 STARS out of 5 STARS because it's interesting but I wish it had just been a full novel. Add 150 more pages and it would have been perfect. It's a tease for what's to come, but it's really just giving us background info on these characters.

Blaire is pretty unhappy in her life and in an attempt to protect herself from the pain of any relationship ending, she doesn't have any. She has one night stands to fill her sexual needs, but has no other support system to speak of. She goes out to find a sexual partner for the night and ends up with a "Dark and Dangerous" hottie who turns out to be amazing in the sack. They don't exchange names (at her insistence), and she leaves in the morning while he is sleeping. West is a rock star who is lonely and sick of the emptiness of the sex and drugs lifestyle he has been living. He wants to connect with someone else very badly. At a concert, Blaire realizes that her one night stand is the lead singer and guitarist of a band she likes a lot. And he wants more than a night with her.
I found the concept of this story interesting, but the execution a little choppy. It is a short story, but a lot happens during that time and as a result, we are told more than we are shown. It is clear that Blaire and West have a lot of sexual chemistry, but the deeper "connection" they share is just told to us (primarily by West) and a little harder for the reader to understand. I liked that Blaire was crass and rough. She never pretended to be something she wasn't, and I found that refreshing. It is clear that her life is filled with unhappiness, and it was nice to see some good things go her way. West is working through a lot himself, and despite him making a lot of impulsive decisions, it is easy to want things to work out for him. I don't know that I will continue with this series. I liked the concept, but had a hard time really connecting with the characters.
I am not sure where this novella is leading me. It is off with an interesting start but as it is cut into several pieces I will have to wait until I read the last part bevor I give a final comment on the content .
She was so annoying sometimes. Strong women don't have to be rude bitches all the time. I read the whole series she gets better in the end but ugh, I wanted to slap her a few times.
Yes! Yes! Yes! This book had my heart racing from the very first chapter. I love that Blair is a tough, tattooed, take no crap chick. She is looking for a one night stand and finds West, or as she thinks of him, Dark and Dangerous. And he sure is. *Insert a cat call*
I don't know HOW Amity does it, I can always connect to her characters. Even with two strangers jumping each other in Chapter 1, I felt the connection they had. These are two messed up souls that push and pull each other and are wild in the sheets....and in the shower...and on a music amp....There is nothing 'vanilla' about Jake West. Looking forward to the next book!
5 (dark & dangerous) stars from me
UNEXPLAINABLE
Mr. Dark and Dangerous is at it again. Being all hot and sexy and badass-y. Love this series and I loved this book! Blair has decided to risk....well, everything and go on tour with her new and first ever real boyfriend, lead singer of the rock group Affliction. Jake West has fallen head over heels for the first time with this "wildcat" of a woman.
"She wasn't a cold hearted bitch, she just wanted the world to think she was so she could protect herself."
The two are taking their relationship to the next level and it still scares the hell out of Blair. Now that she is on the road tour with them, she has to deal with all the nasty groupies that go along with it. Things happen. One chapter my mind was screaming, "NOOOOO!" and right into the next chapter, "YES!!!! DO IT!!"
I love Blair Hayden. She may be my favorite female character.....although her leather studded shell is slowly cracking, she is true to herself and not turning into a love sick pile of mush.
This book ends with a breath taking cliffhanger. Here I come book 3!!
"This unexplainable thing between us might just have tried remain unexplainable."
5 (chocolate eyes/stars) from me
UNINTENDED
"I hated him and wanted to ride him, right here in this room, all at the same time."
Ah, love. This is the conclusion to Blair and West's steamy story. I loved every page of it. Truths come out, hatred is felt, some people are slapped around....good times. It was exciting to see how these two troubled people grew on their own and together. I still love Blair and think she is the best thing since combat boots. Yummy West does some soul searching in this story and has to win Blair back. Ha! Good luck catching and taming a wildcat!
Favorite quote:
"She's either gunna forgive you or rip your nuts off." Mick said. "I'll take anything right now." I replied.
Blair (Wildcat) is so numb from her past, her way of dealing is to hook up with a one night stands, no ties, no names.. At a seedy bar she meets the hot, handsome, sexy ....West (Dark and Dangerous) and ends up having the most intense sexual experience of her life. But her rules stay, her walls are up and she leaves before he wakes up. Blair has a concert ticket for a big band and goes alone, here she realises 'Dark and Dangerous' is the lead singer, he follows her out and she eventually ends up seeing him. However, Blair's world is a complete contrast to West's world. West is determined to make it work but the obsticles that lay ahead of them are just too big, can they make their different worlds work together?
OMG this book was hot, hot hot and full of passion. From the first chapter I was immediately drawn into their worlds. How I absolutely loved Blair's attitude, foul mouth and quick witty come backs. I really felt the strong sizzling sexual chemistry between them. I think this book is so well written when it all started to fall apart for them I could feel my heart racing, I felt their raw emotions and couldn't read fast enough to find out what happens! Even though this is a standalone I am so looking forward to the next book, I'd give this book more stars if I could.
This is a fairly short novella, whether it is just intended as an introduction to the characters or is going to be the first part of an E-Series is unclear.
Practically from page 1 to the end the story was full of hard sex and profanity (not that I'm complaining!). The two main characters are both searching for something. Blair for another one-night stand to get her through her life. West for someone or something that he can connect to. What they end up with is each other.
The two characters were very strongly written, as were some of the ancillary characters, but they didn't really work for me - there was something missing. It was as if the author was trying to follow some kind of "tried and trusted formula - tattooed, bad boy, rock star meets needy girl and wants her" but instead of giving them a proper story she has resorted to relying on the sex and swearing to fill the pages and as the book abruptly ends with them in some kind of happy for now situation I can only guess that the road ahead of them is going to be more of the same.
This book was a very pleasant surprise. Blair went to a bar looking for a no strings attached one night stand she doesn't do relationships. Blair's life is crappy her job is crappy and she wants to have a couple of orgasms and go on her way. Along come a hot guy and they go back to his hotel room she has no idea that he is the lead singer of a hot rock band. After creeping out of his room in the middle of the night leave her ID behind. The sex is raw and dirty, just the way I like it. West feels as if Blair is the missing piece he needs, but Blair is a little hesitant at first. Everyone always leaves, and she doesn't want to get left behind one more time. Dating a rock star is hazardous, but once West puts his lips on Blair she can never say no. I would have felt a little more emotionally connected to Blair if her past was explored more, but I'm hoping she opens up more in the next book. West is sexy as all get out, but he doesn't come off as cocky or arrogant like most rock star heroes. This was a good beginning to this series.
This book was so amazing. Read it from star to end. I could not put it down. Hooked right from the beginning. Blaine Hayden is my type of female. She's a feisty bitchy firecracker that doesn't take shit. I loved her whole I don't give a fuck attitude. She's a badass and so different from all these other chicks in some of the books we read. She didn't annoy me. She was blunt and straight up. Jake West is you're hot and sexy as fuck alpha male. When these two met up and got to the business I was loving this book. I highly recommend this book to anyone who like a female that stands her ground and doesn't let anyone walk all over her. You all need to meet Mr.Dark and Dangerous. Great job Amity. Looking forward to book two. I'm a huge fan now. Hands down awesome writing. You know it's a great read when you just can't out it down.
Same old same. Miserable heroine that literally hates everything and talks about that fucking amazing fucking sex she had with the fucking hot stranger but everything else is fucking bullshit. Rockstar with a bad background that has a manny for a manager that will stop at nothing to control him but will never get fired for being ridiculous cause rockers just care about that one girl that is not just a great fuck but something more even though you literally don't even know her name. And of course the boss that wants to fuck her even though she's nothing special but bad boy rockstar will save her from the big bad boss. Not enough eye rolling gifs.
It's a little hard for me to really grasp on Blair. But I like West. Both are fighting their own demons. Both are right for one another or not. Now can I be more into them as lovers. Definitely. I wasn't too keen on Blair but her story kinds of tell you why she's like that.
Anyway the story is only under 100 pages and its not yet over. But Book 1 feels like that they've shared everything there. But far from over. I like it. I like how the story has turned out. Guess there will be more drama to come. Like her ex-boss and West's manager.
This was a quick and steamy read. It was good but I had trouble connecting with the characters. This book ends on a To Be Continued type ending. I will read the next book because I want to see where the story goes next.
An interesting plot and really well written. I also love tattooed female characters in books... The end was not very reader-friendly with a big cliffhanger. I sometimes do NOT buy the sequel if the first part seems too purposefully ended - for that everyone will rush to buy next one. Rather I would pay a bit more for book and read a lot longer story. So, that was a minus here, in my opinion. Otherwise Amity Cross writes really good stories.
I don’t like to rate books low, I always finish a book no matter what. This book was literally all about sex, which I have nothing against but it was almost like that was the whole story line. I couldn’t wait to be done with the book because I was over the repetitiveness of all of the sex. I feel like the story could have had more to it if there wasn’t so much sexual content.
This story is such a roller coaster! Blair, severe trust issues and a very tough exterior, West, damage control and constantly feeling lost. When these two met there was a connection of sorts and fate had shown its face with her id accidentally been left behind. Need book 2, their story ended with a cliff hanger, loving Blair and West for now!!!!!!!
Misunderstood bad boy rocker that has all the money he could ever need. Drugs, alcohol and sex when he wants. But he wants more.
Misunderstood bad girl running from all the shitting things that life throws your way. Spends all her time be snarky and hiding behind sarcastic comments.
First off - this takes 3 books to resolve - this is not a stand-alone. It's short.
Sorry, not for me. I didn't care for Blair and have no idea what "connection" they have other than sex. I liked West. I like a little more story and a little more tender sex, and a lot less foul language. Where is the music, the poetry? I didn't care enough to go on with the series.
This story is pretty good but hardly a complete book or even a novella. Jake west is sexy as hell and a one night stand with Blair is explosive. She’s tough and just wants hot sex with a stranger, anyone at the bar would’ve been ok but West took one look at her and it was on. So I’m hooked and it was on to the next book. I do recommend this story. I finished it in a couple of hours.
This is a great book of two people who thought they knew who they were just to have life teach them a new lesson and a ton more about themselves that neither thought was possible. It is a very hot read.
