"This basic introduction to the spiritual disciplines of prayer, Bible study, fasting, and journaling shows how to walk with God, enjoy God, and have an intimate fellowship with him that gets better with the passing of time. The essence of the spiritual life is examined, and practical issues are addressed, including personal Bible study, seven questions to ask, praying the psalms, psalms to sing, and persistence, postures, and praise. This is a reference that can be returned to again and again."
This book is exactly what the title says, a practical guide to developing a deeper relationship with God. What I especially enjoy about this book is that it doesn't pretend to do it for you, but points you to scripture and other things to help you walk with Christ.
This short book was exactly what I needed . It gives you ways to deepen your relationship with christ. It shows how to get out of being in a spiritual rut caught up in the patterns of life. It has motivated me and is a great book for all who feel stuck right now.
This is a good book that can help build foundations for having meaningful times with God. It is not revolutionary, but simple and straightforward. If you are struggling in your prayers or connection with God, or you are trying to build a relationship with God for the first time as a young disciple, I would recommend it. Otherwise it may not be of much benefit.
