When Maddox, Rory and Maverick’s son, is threatened at gun point by Department of Environmental Protection officers, who are looking for a killer wolf, Xavier steps in to save his nephew.
Gwen Reynard, nicknamed “The Wolf Whisperer,” by the department, knows the huge black wolf staring down the barrel of the tranquilizer guns her men are holding is not the killer they are looking for. There is something strange about the blue eyed wolf that draws her to him. He is too big to be your standard wolf, he doesn’t seem afraid of humans, and he thinks in full sentences.
Xavier Cheveyo has managed to avoid a true mating for years, but this petite feisty DEP officer, who seems to know exactly what he’s thinking, is hard to avoid.
Lynn Leite is an author, artist, teacher and mother of three. Her wild imagination, and gift for gab blended perfectly in 2009, when she decided to write it all down. In addition to writing, she designs and illustrates her own covers.
Good story with h who can 'hear' animal thoughts so when the H bites her she gets more powers. The evil guy is back and the first family come together to fight him. It completes the couples in the pack, with one uncle the focus on the next story. I enjoyed it.
This is the "end" of another great Lynn Leite shifter series. It's easy to get invested in the characters stories, and hard to say goodbye. Gwen is working for the EPA, looking for a wolf that has killed a woman. She and her two co-workers have unknowingly crossed over onto pack land. Xavier was chasing Maverick's and Rory's son through the woods to burn off some of the seven year olds energy. He feels his fear as he approaches where he came to a sudden stop. Two men have guns pointed at the child. Sliding in front of him in protection, Xavier is relieved to see a woman come out of the woods. She is with the men, but much more sensible. Gwen can't believe how huge, and beautiful this animal is! She convinces her partners this isn't the killer wolf. They are looking for a gray wolf, and this one is black. Nina and Sam arrive to say that the gorgeous wolf is a hybrid pet, and that the EPA are trespassing on private property. Throughout the standoff, Gwen has been talking to Xavier. It's what she does. They call her wolf whisperer. She thinks she's losing her mind when the wolf answers her back; mind to mind! Nina has figured it out too, and when she and Xavier tell Maverick, he knows his family's enemy will try to use her against them. When Xavier touches her, and finds she is his true mate, he is happier than he ever thought possible. There's a problem though. Gwen has no reason to trust a strange man, or any man for that matter. These people who have just come into her life, after saving it, are strangers. She can tell they are hiding something big, and she wants to trust them. It's all so confusing! Once she is let in on the secret, there is a domino effect. She finds out about shifters, that she has a fated mate, (whatever that means), that she is in danger from an insane Alpha who is her mate's family's enemy, and that she can communicate with humans and shifters mentally. It's not like she didn't already have issues. A stalker ex who has hunted her down through three moves to three different towns has been her biggest concern for months. Suddenly she has a mate, a new family, and plenty of people ready to protect and defend her. It's a lot to get used to, but her mate is the easiest. It feels as though they have known each other always. Nothing and no one is going to tear them apart! Be sure to read this engrossing series! I highly recommend it!
Absolutely ferocious and sexy goings on in this whole series and plenty of drama to keep you turning the pages to see what happens next! You're going to love reading about everyone!!💜and enjoyable experience with every page!💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓
I've read 5 books in this series and the writing is pretty consistent, I enjoyed the short reads and I really like the characters. If like me you are starting to get a little tired of the PNR world books this series was nice... quick easy read. The trouble with the QER is that there is really no place to go, you can't put enough into the books to keep me interested. I bought the series because that's what I do if I like the first book because most times I don't want to bother always having to download books one at a time while I'm reading.... But now I'm stuck with what to do.
This book was cute but very kind of stock, wolf meets girl, girls in trouble, oh she's my mate, get girl out of trouble, they have sex, mate and happy ever after... blah, blah, blah. There isn't a lot of stuff that keeps my interest and we really don't get enough of everyone to make me want to read the stories on who's left in the family.
I'm torn.... I might switch series and come back to this.
Even though I usually prefer erotic shifter books, I still enjoyed these books. The fact that they are a little tame in that area didn't take anything away for me. They are quick and enjoyable. Editing is really needed in all the books but I don't rate based on grammar, spelling or sentence structure. The story's pull you in. The characters are likable and interesting.
young veterinarian who hears animals meets fated werewolf true mate. she has a stalker from her past and picks up another in a 2nd werewolf who wants to use her abilities....ends happily but just barely. good plot but again, the book is just not long enough to fully develop it. this writer needs to write longer, more developed stories. the plots are just far too rushed.
I loved this story, It was written very well. Is this the end of the series. What about the grand kids. Who will they marry. How many children will they have. And so on....
