About the author

Elyne Mitchell is an Australian author best known for her Silver Brumby children's series, which tells the story of brumbies that roamed the Snowy Mountains in the Australian Alps, in particular a pale brumby named Thowra.

In 1988, she was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for her services to literature, as well as an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from Charts Sturt University in 1993.

It doesn't seem like there is a standalone version of this one. Thowra features which was a surprise and unexpected. Socks and Lightening and their family are back again. Plus the Brumby Hunter and his dog. But it just seems to be the same thing on repeat every chapter and a lot of the pieces didn't really tie well together either.

Its all explained, caves and maybe actual magic. i was pretty tense about Thlwras valley getting exposed for a bit there.
