If Z2134 felt too much like The Hunger Games with zombies, in this sequel, we can forget about comparisons. This book stands on its own too feet.

Throughout the first episodes, I found myself questioning the book, some of its action scenes, and even the way it was written. It felt like the writers were violating the show don't tell principle, which I know they believe in as well. But towards the end, the book kept getting better and better, so much that I am now willing to forget all about my initial doubts. While the Z series still hasn't grabbed a place among my favorite Platt & Wright books (If you're new to them, try Yesterday's Gone or Whitespace instead!), it's a good story and I have a feeling that season 3 will be amazing.

If the option was available, I'd pick 3.5 stars rather than four, but now, definitely four rather than three.

Wow...the second installment was so much more intense and had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. The ending was shocking, and I cannot wait to see where the authors go with the next book. I love how you never really know who is "good" or "bad". I also thought the character development was better this time around. Very enjoyable 4 star read. :)

Wow I didn't think this season could get any better, after reading the first Z1234 I never believed the guys could make book 2 EVEN better...Im so sorry to doubt you...never again...I should know better after reading so many of your other serials. I have to say it again WOW...!

Its was a while since I read the first Z2134 so I actually read it again so I could read both together and so glad I did. I actually picked-up on more than I did first time round making the whole storyline even better, like you do when you watch a movie for the second or third time.

Those that know me knows my love of zombie-apocalyptic-esk books and your probably sick of me praising every book I've read from Sean and David, I need to find a crappy book to review, but it certainly wont be from these brilliant writers.

Z2135 is my favorite yet out of all the books Ive read from these guys. (Please see below my other book reviews from the collective inkwell). The Walking Dead is my all time favorite TV series and the Hunger games was my all time fave book EVER...but not now.

These guys took this idea and run with it, twisted it up, made even better believable and more relatable characters, made us care about each one and made this book the best yet...phewey...did you get all that!

I do not say this lightly as a reviewer; but this series is now my all time favorite...followed closely by Whitespace series...there I said it!

In book 2 Z2135 the guys took our favorite characters gave them even more tough choices to make, put them in even more impossible positions so we can see how they react....yep making us love them even more!

I feel that Ana and Liam...even Adam and Jonah are part of the family. I feel I could put them in any position and know how each would react; that is the sign of a great writer/s. I am pleased Adam has seen sense he was starting to annoy me being such goody-2-shoes. I have even grown to love/hate Keller even more.

This book was one hell of ride, fast paced and so much intrigue and conspiracy with a dash of zombies and hunter orbs; what a cliffhanger, I'm absolutely gutted, jeeze I so wasn't expecting that...sigh...I cant believe you had the guts to do this; it really blew me away....OMG...now I've got to wait till....Spring...sniff...sniff!

Im missing this storyline already, Im gutted its finished and cant wait for the next one.

This story has become less about zombies and more about the ruthless people controlling the cities. In fact, this wouldn't even have to have zombies...any highly contagious virus would suffice. Z2135 is the part of the story that shows the similarity with the The Hunger Games: there are a total of six cities, each one impoverished with citizens just surviving...with the exception of one. The main city is lavish and beautiful, and it's where the big boss man lives.

As you may remember from Z2134, Jonah, Ana and Liam have all escaped into the Barrens. This one is about who they meet out there, more of the plans of the Underground, and who they can trust. As was taught to us via the X-Files "Trust No One". A simple but an important motto to live by in times of near annihilation of the species. By the end, we learn how and why the original zombie apocalypse happened.

The story is told in four points of view. Sounds like it would end up confusing but in fact it worked quite well. It gave it that soap opera feel of zooming off to another part of the story to see what's happening, then zooming off to another part.

I found it took some time for me to remember everything regardless of the fact that the writers did something I rarely see - a Previous chapter where they reminded you of the basics. This was much appreciated. I really liked the story but I hate the thought of having to wait another year for the next to come out.

NOOOOO!!!!

I've finished the book so now I have to return to reality for a little while!!

I LOVE this series, it has everything I love all rolled into one big ride!!

The book started where the previous one ended in terms of how excited it got me... There were a few chapters in the middle where I couldn't see where the storyline was heading and nothing seemed to happen. This got me a little fidgety and I felt like it had taken a dip in pace which turned out to be the platform for building back up towards the grande finale.

What I love most about this book is that it's not just a repeat of Z2134, the characters have progressed and it has it's own storyline in this developing world.

Unfortunately, we now have to wait.

I can't believe some of the deaths in this book.
I think it's very brave for an author to kill off not only a main character, but THE character that started the whole story. It's exciting knowing that nobody is safe.

I am really liking where the story line of this one is going. The first episode, Z2134, really was like The Walking Dead met The Hunger Games. It grabbed me from the beginning and took me for a fast paced ride. I like the novelty of the serial episodes that leave you on a cliffhanger constantly. Z2135 picks right up where season 1 left off and the ride resumes. What more can you ask for? Political intrigue, zombies, characters with ambiguous morals and motives, more zombies, the world on the edge and a cliffhanger at the end of each episode. I cannot wait for season 3 to resume with Z2136.

Really good book.
I did not see the movie The Hunger Games, but the previews I seen are like this book, altho if you survive the Game, you are still screwed. LOL! the Zombies add a cool twist to it. You win the Game by surviving the Zombies. But the Grand Prize is simply cock-and-bull.
I am eager for Z 2136 to get finished. The bokk leaves you in the midst of a cliff-hanger.
But all in all it's a great action book

Even better than the first season. Definitely some turns I didn't see coming. The comparisons to Hunger Games and Walking Dead are less this go 'round than the previous book. I see more elements of 1984, This Perfect Day, and some Agenda 21 (principles and book) in this second season. Character backstories were more fleshed out, leading me to find reasons to root, despise, or just plain care about them. Great job and I can't wait for the final season.

Another great installment of this post zombie apocalypse series. The first book started out feeling derivative from The Hunger Games,but developed into something unique and compelling. At times, I had difficulty putting it down. This book did not feel derivative, but the overarching plot of the series took a turn I'm not a fan of - but I'm waiting to see how the series continues before I decide fully how I feel about it.

I enjoyed this sequel to Z 2134 a lot. It killed me to see Adam getting cozy with Keller and training to become a watcher, and there was a lot of scary action with Ana. It was sad to see Jonah being used so much, and his last task was a shocking surprise. The cliffhanger at the end makes me very excited for the third novel. Can't wait!
