"Her sweetness seeps into his soul and the ground shifts beneath him again, his primal need for her bubbling and boiling to the surface, and he makes a decision that will change his life forever, sure it's a side effect of the Vitamin D treatment because he would never have contemplated the drastic move before it."

The steamy tale continues as Jed and Olivia are forced to flee the country and their relationship heats up and takes an unexpected turn. From Jamaica to Brazil to New York, their journey is packed with surprising twists, dark revelations and more erotic encounters, and Jed's decadent past tests their love and one secret will remain buried forever.

I live in Colorado with my husband and an old, spoiled cat. I enjoy football and soccer, barbecues and books. I’ve been fortunate to be able to travel the world, which has shaped my perspective on life. I write love stories with a naughty edge and often weave in scenes of places and people I’ve encountered on my travels. Most of all, I like to keep it real.

Overall I enjoyed the book. I loved the ending and how they found each other. I loved how love conquered all and i loved how Jed was with Olivia's brother. He treated him with love and kindness. Altered his world so that he could become apart of theirs. So beautiful.

What I loved:
Jed: he was wonderful and amazing. Sometimes came on too strong but still so wonderful. He took control and showed Olivia what it meant to love with everything in you. His desire for a family was beautiful and his protectiveness was precious. He was kind to Olivia's brother and so supportive of Olivia and her family. Always trying to do what was right for them.

The love story: A wonderful journey to show how love and patience can conquer all.

Olivia: At times she was petulant but she was new to the world of love and being loved with everything. Her hotheadedness was awesome to see especially the taxi scene. That cracked me up but at times it showed how sheltered she appeared to be about some things. That isn't a bad thing. Her love for her brother was beautiful.

What I liked:

The story of Jed and his dad was intriguing. The storyline of the underground sex scene in NY was fascinating. Jed's dad was over the top and selfish. I am glad Jed was able to pull away. The sex scene though was fascinating. Who knew the power behind it and that it could be more than just sex.

The writing style and the way the author was able to keep you intrigued through her descriptions and the way she wrote the story. Always keeping you on your toes.

What was just okay:

The Russian spy thing went a wee bit to much for me. The twist of Olivia and her dad was over the top as well. It just was more than I needed. For some it may be great and wonderful and it did help Jed to come to the decision of how much he loved Olivia but I think that would have happened anyway. i just felt it was a little over the top. Especially the oh I am dead wait no maybe not.

The Brazilian Amazon ice queen who was groomed for Jed while she gave a chuckle again a wee bit much for me. And Jed's reaction was over the top as well. Understandable but over the top.

Overall: I enjoyed the book and the series. The book showed us that love can change everything and conquer all. How redemption can be found in the heart and the love of one person to another.

This was absolutely the best second book to another one I have read yet. I loved it. I fell completely in love with The Vitamin D Treatment when I read it last year. It was by far the best gift goodreads could’ve given me because I fell in love with Jed Carson and the author Julia Bramer is remarkable. So to read Side Effects and get more of Jed and Olivia’s story was beautiful. I have never loved characters the way I do these. Side Effects had me as soon as I started until the very last page. I never wanted to put it down.

Olivia was still the most caring girl and her character evolved in this book. She went from not only being sweet, loving, motherly to her brother, and protective of all of those around her, but she became strong. She was stronger in this book. She stood up to everyone who was trying to get her to leave Jed. She fought back for him and for all the people she loved and adored.

Jed, Jed, Jed!! Man do I love him. He is perfect. There’s no other book boyfriend out there that could even compare to him in my book. He’s just that amazing. You are drawn to his dominance and roughness. He makes every man and woman aware of his presence. I really enjoyed that in this book I go to see another side of Jed. He became the most caring and sweetest man EVER. He was more loving and more accepting of things in this one. It just made me love him more and more.

I really loved getting to watch Jed and Olivia’s relationship and love evolve in this book. They fought against every person they know to be together and it was beautiful. There was always an obstacle in their way or something happening that slowed down there relationship, but no matter what they came out of it together and stronger than before. I found myself holding my breath through much of the story. The suspense had me on edge. It was the perfect story to a book I adore and had the absolute perfect ending. I couldn’t have asked for better. The story is beautiful, romantic, suspenseful, and sexy.

Really awesome follow up to the first book!

After reading both books I really feel like I know Jed and Olivia, and I'm going to miss them :) But I really really enjoyed spending time with them both.

I think these books are better then shades of grey (the only other erotic romance I have ever read), and I will be watching for more from Julia Bramer

WITH THE FIRST BOOK ENDING IN A CLIFFHANGER, I HAD TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS NEXT. THE STORY PICKS UP RIGHT WHERE THE VITAMIN D TREATMENT LEFT OFF. I HAVE TO SAY THAT I REALLY ENJOYED THIS SERIES. I DIDN'T EXPECT TO LIKE THEM SO MUCH BUT IT WAS A SURPRISE. THE STORY AND THE CHARACTERS ARE SO LIKABLE. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE JED. HE IS SO SWEET AND ALWAYS TOOK CARE OF OLIVIA AND HER BROTHER. HE CARED ABOUT HER FEELINGS AND ALWAYS PROMISED TO LOVE HER NO MATTER WHAT. I LOVED OLIVIA AND HER SPIT-FIRE ATTITUDE. SHE IS SPUNKY AND SMART AND I ESPECIALLY LOVE HER FEISTINESS. THE SEX SCENES WERE HOTNESS AND JUST THE RIGHT TOUCH OF KINK. OVERALL IT WAS A GREAT BOOK AND WILL DEFINITELY WANT TO READ MORE THE FROM THE AUTHOR.

This book picks up right where Vitamin D (book 1) left off and since it ended with a cliffhanger, I couldn't wait to pick this one up and find out what happened. I have to say this was the perfect conclusion to a great story!! Way to go, Julia!! I really love Jed and Olivia. They balance each other. He is very strong and oozes power and a don't f*** with me. Olivia on the other hand, is very sweet and much more reserved or shy I guess would be the better word to describe her. They have a few obstacles too overcome, but work through them together and come out much stronger than they were before. This series is definitely one I will reread and I absolutely would recommend this two part series.
I give this book 5 AMAZEBALLS stars

Well it's a good ending to Jed & Olivia's story. Lots of drama and action!

Olivia ~ I didn't really like her at all in this book. She went from being way TOO emotional and overreacting to being self-centered! I just didn't get her in this book it made me wonder if she was bipolar cause then it would have explained a lot of what was going on with her!

Jed ~ He was to concerned about how everything was going to affect Olivia, he never stopped to consider what was actually beneficial for him, Olivia and Ben! Everything was about Olivia! He was a good a great guy just a little odd on certain things especially with how he treated certain situations with Ben!

Overall its a good an ending I just had very little respect for the 2 MC's!

Till next time ~ Sweets Books

Great follow up to the first book. The first ended in a big cliffhanger, so I really needed the second quickly. Mrs. Bramer didn't disappoint. 'Side Effects' takes you through Jed & Olivia's fast journey of ups and downs. There are lots of obstacles in their way, but Jed takes charge and Olivia doesn't let his past get her down. I do love that we get an epilogue with our HEA!
I will read more from this author.
