This is the second book in the "Search for the Alien God" series. In "Dangerous Alien Robot," Raven, the powerful robot queen, directly confronts the demons who killed her human crew. She commands a vast army that has the same power to bend physics as angels and demons. Raven is arguably Science Fiction's most powerful robot. Her character, courage, and sense of mission will help readers examine their own life purpose more closely. This story is about these robots and their very unusual mission. This adventure is their role in the alien's Eden.
David has an MA in Catechetics and an MS in Computer Science. His avid interest in Physics and Cosmology combine in his books on Amazon. His first novel, "Search for the Alien God" is Eschatological SciFi and is promoted by Catholic Media. Dangerous Alien Robot was second in the series, with Battle of the Queens due out late in 2014.
Dangerous Alien Robot is a delightfully fun romp through a world in which aliens have descended to Earth to find the truth about Heaven, Hell, and eternal destiny. Along with experiences you might expect, like the US military being somewhat perturbed by their chosen landing site in DC, there are a host of other interactions, both celestial and mundane. Throughout it all, the well-drawn characters of the dangerous alien robots respond in ways that are unpredictable, unique, and both disarming and charming. I was particularly struck by the great sense of humor demonstrated by the robots as they cleverly navigate interactions with military, bureaucrats, and other dignitaries. Rather than trying to conquer the planet, these “happy, well-adjusted robots”—who incidentally can choose to explode and destroy a half-mile swath without being harmed—use their powers for good, to heal, and to serve the humans who have the truth they’ve come to seek. In this sequel to Search for the Alien God, the author has improved upon the power and pace of the story line itself, while more fluidly intermingling questions about the value of life, what it means to be living, and where we are all headed. I, for one, am very interested to see what happens next …
I received this book as a first read. It was a surprisingly fun read. The book is funny and thought provoking. I like that the robots have a good and almost deadpan sense of humor and their own sense of morality and values. It's amusing that they judge scifi aliens and robots and reference old movies like Forbidden Planet and The Day the Earth Stood Still. Satan was funny and pragmatic. Humans were predictable in their actions which made it fun to see what lengths aliens would have to go to in order to prove to humankind that they were friendly. It was also amusing to see the disdain and annoyance the robots had for human misgivings. I also enjoyed the theological aspects of the book - robots claiming they wouldn't have messed up in Eden and Protestants bitter that robots has chosen to spread Catholicism. This is a smart and delightful read that will make you question your own beliefs both religious and moral. It can be enjoyed by religious and secular folks alike and is just a great, cheeky scifi romp.
This book was fun to read. I like the character development. Raven in some ways reminds me of Benedict Cumberbatch (BBC show character Sherlock Holmes now in its 5th year in 2015). This book is at many levels. It is light reading, and can be finished in a couple of Sunday afternoons. But it does provide food for thought. I am a big fan of exercising both mind and body. And one will find encouragement for both here.
WOW, What a really good book with some really good character development. I will now have to read book 1 "Search For The Alien God" so I'm ready for book 3. Great job, and thanks for allowing me to win my copy on Goodreads.com. As I do most my wins I will be paying it forward by sharing with a friend.
