Indrukwekkend verhaal (en dat was de reden dat ik dit boek wilde lezen, voor het verhaal van Tula), maar ik vond de schrijfstijl niet prettig - bijna als een simpel kinderboek.

Geschreven door een filmmaker, eigenlijk geen schrijver. Ik heb de film nog niet gezien, misschien is dit een geval waar de film beter is dan het boek.

Ik ga uitkijken naar andere boeken over Tula, want zijn leven en droom - en dood - zijn het zeker waard om bekend(er) te zijn.

Powerful!

This book enlightened me to a hero whom I never heard of, but whose life and struggle is one I can identify with. Tula is a hero in every respect of the world and this book tells his story beautifully.

Indrukwekkend verhaal en ook een belangrijk deel van de geschiedenis.
Het boek is heel filmisch geschreven en mist wat diepere lagen, maar alleen al voor het verhaal zou ik het aanraden.
