Okay, Axel Creed’s story, is much darker than I thought it would be. What we did see of him in the first book seemed more playful but with an edge. Axel, in this book comes with a lot of issues. Not all of his issues are of his making, but as an adult, he has to learn to take responsibility for them. He has to know that stalking, illegal use of cameras, and bribery are not legal. Yet, he did it anyway. There is only one person he would do this for, and that is Scarlett Quinn a curvy girl she is nothing like any of the women he has bedded before.
Dating was never part of the equation because he knew Creeds didn't have it in their DNA to ever be married and settle down. However, in his freshman year, he catches sight of Scarlett, and he is lost to all other women. They are both juniors and for the past two years, Axel has stalked her all without her knowing until... Knowing. His dating or even looking at other women was nonexistent. Mainly hanging with the team or guys from the house, his housemates, the Fearless Five part of the football team at The University of Texas. Now that she was living alone away from her cousin, Janet, he had amped up his stalking of her place. It was on the seeder side of town.
His winter break was brutal. Now it was August. Axel had kept away from his girl because of his billionaire father. He would never approve of Scarlett because everything with his father was smoke and mirrors. Axel had to make sure he could provide for a future he hoped to have with Scarlett. However, when he sees her at the Fraternity Luau with Ethan Chambray, and he is with his arm draped over her shoulder he loses it. Especially, when he had warned Ethan off twice already. Let's just say there was an altercation, and Ethan didn't win that round.
When Scarlett stormed off it was Axel who went after her. He knew enough about her habits to know exactly where she would be. Welcome to their meet-cute. Most girls would be put off by his stalkerish ways. Not Scarlett. She’s into dark romances, and she’s into all kinds of tropes really. Just know that someone who Scarlett thinks is her friend is not, and it's a good thing Axel is so possessive. One thing this author can do is capture you quickly and even though your mind is telling you this is too far-fetched. You still can want to read.
