Steamy action and adventure romance with a hot hero who knows exactly what—and who—he wants, and a heroine with more skeletons in her closet than shoes. 1-click to preorder the next book in the WEST Protection Sentry series now and binge the WEST Protection series while you wait!
Quaide finally gets all his puzzle pieces lined up....
.....and he is too late. Quaide is a 'by the book', follow the rules kind of guy and whilst he knows he needs to make a change and leave the FBI there are no spur of the moment decisions, so he is blindsided when Dove resigns and disappears. This shakes Quaide to the core and whilst we see him fall apart a little, I think it actually does him good, for a time he has no control over the situation and it makes him reassess, grow and whilst he cannot throw his rulebook aside completely....he can rewrite it. Quaide and Dove are explosive together, their chemistry doesn't just drip from the page, it runs in rivers. Now they can actually be open about their relationship they cannot keep their hands off each other and every little spark rapidly becomes an inferno, blazing hot and out of control. I really love the quirkiness of the Sentry team, there are very diverse personalities but they all pull together and work seamlessly as one when needed and I cannot wait for the Abel brothers books, which I am sure will be dark, depraved and very dirty. They may have slightly smudged and mucky souls but they are protectors at heart and will happily enter the shadows and risk themselves to keep others safe. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.
The Big Tough Agent Falls Head over Heals Quaide Livingston is more than ready to make a change in his life. The FBI is wearing him down but the biggest reason is his assistant, Dove Priester. FBI policy is no fraternizing with staff; that bridge has already been crossed. Quaide is madly in love with Dove and wants forever but he’s also ready for a different lifestyle. He will be working undercover for Sentry, a new branch of crime fighters, an offshoot of West Protection. Quaide set up his friend Clay Lewis to be the lead and so far the team consists of only four agents and the office tech/assistant. They need more agents ASAP but haven’t been able to pursue hiring yet …and…they just got called in on a complicated job. That’s not all that’s changed for Quaide though. Just as he was ready to make his move, leave the FBI, transfer to Sentry, and claim Dove, Dove disappeared. Quaide is not in his right mind with hurt and worry. Doesn’t help that Sentry is not up and running yet but he’s going to pull up his grumpy big boy panties and investigate the dead guy just found. In “It’s a Small World” Quaide finds photos on the dead guy’s cellphone and one of them looks almost exactly like Dove. So now he’s found his girl and he is never losing her again. Dove’s sister’s drug-dealing boyfriend is the dead guy and Rain is next but with Dove and Rain looking so much alike both girls are targets. No one is hurting his woman. Quaide is a romantic sexy alpha who loves with his entire being and he really loves Dove. She is head over heels in love too. Cowboy Breaking Point is book 2 in the 3 book standalone series, but many characters weave through each book. The story is a fast-paced love story filled with great characters. I received a free advanced copy of this story from Booksprout and these are my thoughts. Linda

Cowboy Breaking Point is the second book in WEST Protection Sentry series. This book has all the feels, danger, romance, suspense and mystery. Addictive, enthralling page turner. It can be read as a standalone in an interconnected series of standalones.
Quaide and Dove are going through some hard situations, fighting through their demons and past. Quaide Livingston doesn't regret his new job or leaving the FBI. He knows exactly exactly what—and who—he wants - Dove. Dove disappeared with no word and ghosted him. She is trying to help her sister who is in a lot of trouble. The case his team is working on brings these two together again. They are both stubborn and hard-headed; complex and flawed. I enjoyed their development and growth through out this book. Their banter / encounters kept me glued to the pages as well as their explosive chemistry. Their love story is layered, fast paced, real, emotional, dangerous with an edge and depth.
Fantastic addition to this series. I thoroughly enjoyed this team, their dynamic, explosive chemistry between Quaide and Dove and this newish world. I can’t wait for Julius and Jennings’ stories.
If you loved the first book in this series, Long Arm of the Cowboy, as much as I did, you'll love this book too. We've seen Quaide as a miserable SOB in the previous book and in this one we find out why, and who. The woman in his life had disappeared, only to resurface to need his help.
I love how both Quaide and Dove are flawed characters and that these flaws/insecurities are so intricately interwoven into the plot. For example, how Dove's backstory affects her relationships and how that influences the sequence of events. We also see Clay and Lark continuing with their old jokes (literally), and overall it was a fun read. We don't know much about "the" Brothers but if they do get their own stories I'll bet they're going to be just as good!
There is also an element of suspense in this story which made it a little more exciting and dramatic, but just enough to keep it exciting and not too much that it seems too OTT, or too many details in an action scene that it gets confusing (happens sometimes, doesn't it?). However it is a FBI kind of story so if you want a boring farm story you won't find it here. I also like that there's a continuing background plot which will continue in the coming books and I can't wait to read it!
The author's writing and style are fantastic and the story has perfect pacing. And it's a good length too - these days I don't want to feel like I'm spending half my life just reading! My only regret? That the other books are not out yet so now I have to find something else to do while waiting. LOL.

Quaide had been seeing his secretary, Dove at the FBI for some time when one morning he left the hotel for work, and she never showed up for work. She had turned her resignation in the day before. She would not answer his calls, and he had no idea where she lived. He had planned to tell her he was leaving the FBI and taking her with him so they would not have to sneak around anymore. It was to late now, he was a member of West Protection Sentry thinking about her everyday. He was sent early one morning to investigate a dead body that had a picture on his phone that looked similar to Dove. It turned out to be her sister, Rain, and she had a hit out on her. The race was on to find both Dove and Rain to protect them. Once he found them he had to learn that Dove was not going to fall into line doing everything he wanted on demand. She had a mind of her own with past experiences it was hard for her to let go, and she was very protective of Rain. Dove was a survivor far more independent than Quaide ever thought she was so he had to change his ways fast? It helped once she told him the circumstances. The chase was still on in Canon by Sentry to put an end to the drug problem and of course the hit on Rain. The action never stops coming as plan after plan was made only to fall through or fail until the final showdown. Enjoy Quaide and Dove's story to discover what happened at the showdown.

This book had a fast paced, exciting plot. It was a little bit of a second chance romance, and although it was a stand alone, there are mysteries that run throughout the series.
Quaide and Dove worked together at the FBI, but six weeks ago Dove sent a resignation email and disappeared. Quaide took a job with Sentry, a task for he set up with Dove but now is taking orders from Clay Lexis instead of being the boss. He gets the shock of his life when the woman who ghosted him becomes his next case.
Dove went into hiding with her sister and never expected the man she left behind to be the one to step up and save them. Dove and Quaide shared a secret relationship for three years, and now that Quaide is ready to bring their relationship into the light, he has to get Dove and her sister Rain safe before he can move forward.
There was plenty of action and mystery in this book. There were some points that were a little cheesy and didn’t really fit with the whole romantic suspense vibe of the book, but I did love Dove and Quaide together. I loved the way Quaide listened to what Dove said and took her feelings into account. I loved that Dove let Quaide take charge when he needed to and was able to compromise.
There were still some questions left open about the church and the preacher from the first book and I’m intrigued by where that could take this series. The last two Able brothers are up next and I can’t wait for them to fall just as hard as their older brothers did in the WEST Protection books.
Wow! Just wow! Cowboy Breaking Point just raised the bar on what I now expect in a book in order for it to contain smoking hot, combustible chemistry!
Quaide Livingston is a growly, intense, rule following former FBI agent and Marine who has joined Sentry. His obsession and personal bible is his former personal assistant, Dove Priester. What started as a secret office affair between boss and employee became his life's worship when he fell hard for her. He quit the FBI so that they could finally be together without fear of repercussion. That's when he learned that she resigned from her position via email without a word of warning to him. She's his drug of choice and then suddenly, she's gone without a trace. For 6 weeks he didn't know what happened to her. When he learns that Dove is in trouble and trying to hide her sister Rain, who has a hit put out on her, he vows to not only save their lives, but get Dove back and never let her go.
If you like intense, passionate, and bossy men, then Quaide is your next book boyfriend. His stares are incendiary; his touch burning; with a push against a wall or countertop, his undeniable skills lead to throaty moans and the ability to forget not only your name but that there are others present in the room. If only this man were real and could be cloned in order to bring joy and happiness to the masses.
Cowboy Breaking Point is a non-stop adrenaline ride of suspense, lust and love. Well worth the read!
Quaide Livingston wants to leave the FBI to join Clay Lexis as part of the Sentry task force that he originally spearheaded. He plans on telling his assistant Dove Preister once his plans are finalized. They have been having a secret affair for awhile. They always meet up at hotels and never really discuss anything too personal.
Dove ends up sending her resignation to HR copying Quaide right before she has one last amazing night with him. Then she disappears from his life not knowing that he was going to leave the FBI.
6 weeks later, Quaide is living in the old, outdated house he inherited from his grandparents. He is now working on the Sentry task force but he still misses Dove. He is assigned a dead body case. On the phone of the victim, there is a picture of a woman that looks a lot like Dove.
For the last 6 weeks, Dove and her sister Rain have been living in Dove’s apartment together. Dove has Rain sleeping in her walk in closet so no one sees her. Dove is also trying to stay hidden since the sisters look alike until she figures out their next move. Her sister unknowingly was dating a drug dealer.
What happens when Quaide and the team figure out that the dead body is Rain’s ex-boyfriend and that there is a hit out on Rain? Can Quaide get to the sisters and can the Sentry team keep them safe?
Another action packed story for this series.

Dove had everything she ever wanted in life until a call from her sister turned it all upside down. But what else are you supposed to do you do when your younger sister, who you’ve looked after ever since your parents died, gets in trouble with the law? Quit your job at the FBI and hide her in your closet of course.
Leaving her job was easy. Leaving her hott boss Quaide, with whom she’d been having an affair with, less so. But she didn’t have a choice, she’d be looking after her sister for so long, she was the most important person in her life.
Quaide knew something was wrong when he didn’t see his sexy assistant, who he is secretly in love with, at her desk in the morning, but an out of the blue resignation email was the last thing he expected. Not knowing why she quit is eating him up and he’d do anything to get her back by his side. But when he starts at a new security job and a body shows up with links to his assistant, he realises that perhaps there was more to her leaving than he could have imagined.
Now the clock is ticking. Can her find her and save her before it’s too late? Will she accept his help and finally let someone take care of her for a change?

Quaide Livingston gave up his place in the FBI to join Sentry. The perk of to this was taking Dove Priester with him. Then she disappeared with no word. Dove knew when she realized the trouble her sister was in, she would need to hide out and quite her job at the FBI. This also meant leaving behind Quaide.
When Quaide’s new investigation with Sentry leads him to Dove’s sister Rain their worlds clash again. Will this new reality bring them both together the way they always wanted or tear them apart for good.
I am really loving this Sentry series. These guys and the women they find to love are amazingly strong and resilient characters. Their chemistry is off the charts, but it flows with the story. Quaide and Dove are one of my favorite couples from Em so far. I really enjoyed their dynamic and the give and take in their relationship even when they were mad. I could not stop reading this book. If you haven’t tried this series or any of her others. This is the book to start.

Quaide Livingston put together a task force for the FBI which resulted in the formation of WEST Protection Sentry division to combat all the criminal activities which started in the small Colorado town of East Canon...so when Clay asked, Quaide joined Sentry, planning to bring his assistant Dove Priester, with him, as they had a secret relationship....but days before he quit, she resigned and ghosted him. Quaide called in early to scene where body found partially in the river, and securing the phone of murder victim, Quaide discovered a picture of woman which could have been Dove, but wasn't...and found Dove quit the FBI to go to ground with her younger sister Rain, who had relationship with a drug dealer...the body now in the morgue...and there's another problem, there was a hit put out on Rain...but you will need to read this story to see what happens with a by-the-book former FBI agent and the hard-headed love of his life...I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A continuation from the first book of the series when Quaid Livingston leaves the FBI when his assistant (who also is his girlfriend and secret lover), Dove suddenly resigns without notice or explanation to try and protect her sister Rain, who has found herself in serious hot water when her drug pusher and money launderer boyfriend gets killed. Quaid finds them and sets out to help them get out of their mess without getting them killed. There are now hitmen chasing them as well. This book has suspense, danger and lots of sexual hotness thrown in. It brings Quaid and members from West Protection and Sentry trying to work together but they cannot seem to get a break between the two agencies. Lots of excitement and angst to keep your adrenaline pumping. This book has an ending that leaves you hanging for the next book in the series to continue the series. A great read and really enjoyed it. I have baited breath waiting for the next book in the series with the new Sentry group. I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily chose to review.
Fast-paced drama and sizzling romance make this an entertaining novel. I personally found that the sizzle far outweighed the drama in content, but the basic plot was riveting and kept me in suspense. When Dove disappears, Quaide does what he can to track her down, but unfortunately, they had enjoyed a relationship where personal details were minimal, resulting in Quaide not knowing where to look. When he switches to working for Sentry, Quaide unexpectedly discovers that there is a hit on Dove's immature sister, which implicates Dove as well. Quaide and his team lose no time in finding them and bringing them to safety. Attempting to put them in a safe place, things go horribly wrong, resulting in disaster. However, the novel does come to a successful conclusion with Quaide and Dove eventually finding their happy-ever-after. I received a copy of this novel as a gift through BookSprout as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Quaide Livinston was indoctrinated to be a rule follower as a Marine and then as an FBI Agent. So breaking the rules by having an inter-office relationship with his secretary was definitely out of character. Yet he had no regrets. Dove Priester knew she was playing with fire when she begin seeing Quide outside of the office but saying no to him wasn't an option. Having to walk away without an explanation preyed on her but she had no choice. When Sentry Security picks up a murder case involving a low level drug dealer, Dove is put squarely back on Quaide's radar and he's not about to let her disappear again. Riding roughshod over isn't winning him any points though. Compromising her safety and by extension is not an option. When his nightmare scenario happens it takes every bit of the restraint he has, along with his team reining him in, to get the job done right and safely. He gets his woman and isn't letting her go again. She's on board with that.
Quaide Livingston leaves his position with the FBI shortly after Dove, the woman he loves suddenly resigns from her position as his secretary and disappears. Weeks later, he is working undercover at Sentry with a friend and he sees a picture of a woman who looks familiar to Dove and wonders how she is connected to a dead man. When he finds Dove, Quaide discovers she has a sister, Rain and that her life had been turned upside down when Rain became involved in her boyfriends illegal activities. Trying to keep Rain safe, Dove tries to keep her behind closed doors which is easier said than done. Quaide shows up in time to get both of them to safety when he discovers a hit is on Rain. Now he and the Sentry group are working to keep them safe. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book can be read as a standalone but there are references to the previous story and this book does not really end on a cliffhanger there is still a mystery to solve. In their former careers, our hero and heroine were not only boss and assistant, but they were also sleeping together. He then decides to change careers to join the protection team that the two of them helped put together and he wants to take her along, but she ghosts him before he can share with her. Six weeks later his first big case with Sentry brings the two of them back together only now he not only has to protect her, but he also has to convince her that what they had was real. This story is full of action, drama and trauma. It kept my involved from beginning to end.

Quiade and Dive work for FBI, she bring his secretary and secret lover. Work colleagues in the office finding reasons and excuses to meet by the coffee machine, but aggressive and loving behaviours behind closed doors in the bedroom. Until it wasn't as Dove suddenly ups and leaves, just as Quaide is about to join private security firm Sentinel. The reason, when Dove is found, has serious consequences for all. I did not like Dove and her sister in character, despite the inherent reasons for their behaviour and attitude. It was wearying as to how they each flitted between reason and instability, putting anyone and everyone involved at risk. Lots of drama, dramatic events, sex between the main characters, humour, threats and danger.

FBI Analyst Quaide Livingston was more than shocked to return to the office after his latest tryst with his assistant and lover, Dove Priester to see a resignation letter. He had no answers but he’d been planning to leave the agency for Sentry, this was as good a time as any. Quaid didn’t expect to go to a crime scene and see a picture of Dove on the victim’s phone.
Dove left the job and man she loved to protect her extremely naïve and stunted look-alike sister who got involved with the worst kind of guy. Huddled in the apartment never leaving, felt safe. It was just her luck, the guy’s boots at a crime scene that was televised and held clues leading the good guys and bad guys alike to Dove’s apartment. I liked but didn’t love the outing, to my taste, everyone was a bit much and gave off waves of ‘I’m trying too hard.’ Rating: 3.5stars
Cowboy Breaking Point is the second book in the WEST Protection Sentry series. I am really enjoying this series, well I do with all the series I have read by the author. Dove Priester and Quaide Livingston both had worked for the FBI, with her being his assistant. But their relationship went past the office door and into the bedroom, where they were on fire together. Now things are different and both are no longer there, and they are no longer together either. Dove may have run away from Quaide but he is determined to find her and then keep her, even if he has to hog tie her and find out all her secrets, especially the one about why she ran from him. Be careful what you wish for is all I can say. But sometimes when wishes come true they are even better than you imagined.
This is Book 2 of WEST Protection Sentry starring Quaide Livingston and Dove Priester. WOW I am not sure what to think and Rain she is just so immature but then she does things that make you guess maybe she is just crazy, but Dove is her big sister and she is willing to throw everything at the problem to keep her save. I loved how macho Quaide is and boy oh boy that way he commands Dove will have you needing a panty change too. I loved the drama and danger in this book, however I did not like the way Rain plays everyone and I am starting to think she is more involved then she let her sister know, but that will come out in the next book or Rain’s book hopefully.

Dove and Quaide were quite a couple until they stopped being co-workers after Dove's very sudden resignation!! I enjoyed the story of Dove taking care of her younger sister Rain, and how Quaide really stepped up the minute he found out that Dove and Rain were being targeted by bad guys. The chemistry between the couple was off the charts with many long, intense love scenes. The story was a bit light on the details about the bad guy(s), but I'm guessing that might be explored more in future stories. I'm also hoping that the characters from the WEST Protection series will play more of a role in the next book since I loved that series, too!.

Quaide Livingston helped Sentry get setup with Clay at the helm. When he is offered a job, he believes it is time to leave the FBI. He cannot believe his assistant Dove, just resigned via email and will not pick up her phone. When a body is found and pictures of a girl that looks close to his Dove on the guys phone, she may be in trouble.
Dove knows that Quaide plays by the rules and she does not know if he can help her and her sister. When he shows up, she is glad to see him, but he is not calling the shots.
Can the Sentry crew get the girls out of the situation they are in? Quaide is not going let Dove out of his sight again.

This second book in the Sentry series will have you totally engrossed in the story. Can be read as a stand-alone but I highly suggest reading the first book. Quaide Livingston is a dedicated planner but he forgets to clue in others. A hot attraction for his assistant leads to plans to leave the FBI to join Sentry so things will no longer be hidden. But his plans go awry when Dove suddenly ghosts him and her job. From there the storyline heats up with murder, discovery, action, fear, suspense, growliness, stubbornness, banter, hot, hot, hot chemistry, protectiveness,push/pull, humor, kidnapping, and love. Great Read.

I loved Cowboy Breaking Point Book 2 of WEST Protection Sentry. Quaide didn’t get to tell Dove his plans to leave the FBI and join Sentry, she disappeared. Dove had to leave Quaide because of the trouble her sister was in and she had to keep Quaide out of it. When danger comes calling and Quaide finds Dove, he will stop at nothing to protect her and keep her forever. No. Ore running around and hiding their relationship. This story had drama, suspense and lots of steamy scenes. The normal West Protection book. I loved the storyline and the characters. I can’t wait for the rest of the Abel brothers to fall. I would definitely recommend this book.

Cowboy Breaking Point, book two of WEST Protection Sentry series. Quaide and Dove’s story. A fantastic story. Fast paced, full of action, never a dull moment. Ms. Petrova does an amazing job of pulling us into the story from the beginning and keeping us on the edge of our chairs trying to figure out the who, what and where of things. But, we still get that steamy hot chemistry that we want. I absolutely highly recommend this series in fact if I see this authors name I just go ahead and click on it, I know its going to be a fantastic story and another terrific addition to my reading library. You won’t be disappointed! I am so looking forward to the next book of the series. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Quaide is former FBi who quit to pursue other interests and continue his relationship with his secretary from the FBI. She however quits and doesn't let him know where she is. He catches a case with his new security firm and sees a picture on the dead guys phone that turns out to be Olivia's sister. Olivia is on the run with her sister to protect her. She thinks she can do it all on her own. Will she be able to or has she bit off more than she can chew? Will Quaid be able to save them bith and reclaim his love for Olivia? Fast paced, dangerous action read with romance. Another great addition to the series.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel from Booksprout. I also had pre-ordered a copy.
While this is a part of a series (and prior characters make multiple appearances), you don't have to read the prior story to understand this one.
I normally enjoy this author's work (hence the pre-purchases) but this one fell a little flat for me. There were plenty of sexy times here (it seemed like more than usual). It was like the plot was needing something so she filled in with sex. Now I will say that while I was reading this, I became ill. It could be that I simply didn't enjoy it as much as normal because of that.
I did enjoy the dual POV format. I can usually connect to characters so much better when seeing their thoughts.
Cowboy Breaking Point by Em Petrova is the second entry into the West Protection series. Quaide Livingston has been hiding a secret from his bosses at the FBI for a while but when his professional and personal life cross paths too often, he leaves his job at the FBI to join West Protection. Now he just needs to get the woman he loves, Dove Priester, back. Dove, quit her job as Quaide’s assistant because she needed to protect her sister from her criminal boyfriend. When Quaide spots someone he thinks is Dove, he finally finds her and makes sure her sister is protected. Em Petrova really delivers on this one.

Dove goes to ground to try to keep her sister safe, even though she thinks that means putting her sister before her lover and boss, Quaide. It is satisfying to see Rain, Dove's sister, grow up during the mess she has gotten herself and Dove into. I love that Quaide falls first and hardest. I love that Dove grows on her way to falling. The Sentry team is tight and I love the way they have each other's backs. I love the action and suspense. I love the way the characters are developed and fleshed out. The writing is easy and flows smoothly. I can not wait for the next story in this series.

Another fantastic read from Em Petrova! Dove & Quaide are lovers, forced to keep things a secret as Quaide is Dove's boss at the FBI. Until one day when Dove doesn't show up for work. She has disappeared and Quaide cannot find her. Quaide leaves his job to join Sentry, but he still misses Dove. Thinking of her constantly. Dove had to leave her job to protect her younger sister. She has always put her sisters needs before her own. When Quaide shows up, and promises to keep them safe can Dove trust him? She has been keeping a secret from him. This was an exciting, romantic suspense that I could not put down.
