One of the most successful books ever published on women's health, EVERYWOMAN is the essential guide for women who want to learn more about their bodies and health. Written in a sensible and straightforward way, it provides the medical and gynaecological facts as well as the social aspects of women's sexuality and wellbeing. This groundbreaking book has again been revised and updated to meet the needs of women of all ages as they head towards the next century.
Dr Llewellyn-Jones worked at St Margaret’s Women’s & Children’s Hospital Darlinghurst when I worked there. Somehow I was privy to an early draft and as a young woman it was revolutionary reading - I’d never seen such frank, trustworthy and eye opening information!
So thanks for providing an extension of our knowledge from our other sources - Dolly Doctor & letters to Cosmopolitan & Cleo!
Derek Jones' guide to every woman is in depth, practical and touches on questions we dare not ask for fear how others might look at us.
A material for ages. For the man who longs to be there for his woman and the woman wanting to understand her body. It is the guide before gynecology is called upon.
a must get, must have, must read and must keep! I had this paperback years ago. lost in transit and forgot all about it until I hit 50 and peri-meno started. it's almost a bible for women...
I don't know how to rate this book. Back when I read it in 1973 it was ground-breaking and I would have rated it 5 stars. It was informative about women's bodies and the things that can wrong in a way that we had not seen before and was very valuable in an era before authoritative sex ed and when too many parents were reticent about discussing these things. I think it might have been the first book of its type that discussed menopause. It's out of date now, of course, because treatments and testing &c have changed so much, but women still might be better off reading it than some of the rubbish published by the so-called wellness industry these days.
My mum used to read this book till she passed away, then after I got married I also gave it to my wife to continue the legacy of my mother. Now my wife is so much addicted to it that I don’t get the chance to read the read the book.
