In the northern Maine woods, a wolf pack unlike any other reigns the landscape. With the ability to shift into human shape, they are the supreme rulers of their territory. Until the real humans threaten their secret realm... A seasoned fighter who has murdered too many of his fellow wolf-men to bear counting, Grane is long past salvaging, no matter the reason behind his lethal campaign. But then he meets Suma, the white wolf who wields the power to heal his emotional scars. But Suma is not a wolf-woman who can easily forgive Grane his horrific deeds. She mistrusts him, and seeks every opportunity to remind the wolf-man of the pain he's caused her pack. Yet it is through this fire that Grane's redemption is forged, and as he heals, Suma witnesses the unfolding of a generous heart, and learns there just might be passion and loyalty to be found in forgiveness-if they can survive long enough to find out.
S.C. Dane currently lives in Wyoming on a working cattle ranch. When she’s not riding horses on the range, she’s immersed in her second passion: writing. She loves traveling, too, and isn’t sure what adventures her next move will find for her. You can get to know a little more about the author on her website scdane.com
A fantastic follow up to Luna. It is so striking to hear another character's impression of Luna after hearing her inner monologue throughout the first book in the series. S.C. Dane expands this magical world by introducing new characters and expanding old ones. Another exciting story.
Grane, the man who kidnapped and held the Luna prisoner but later betrayed his pack, has been exiled. Now, forgiven by Luna, he becomes a lower ranking, fallen from grace member of her pack and is left to start his life anew. But in doing so, Grane realizes that his heart belongs to one whose forgiveness of which he has not been rewarded, the white wolf he’d literally held prisoner with the poles—Suma.
SC Dane returns us to the story of the shape-shifting, wolf-human tribe of which she has brilliantly kept us reading. We are reacquainted with several characters from the first book “Luna”: Beth (Luna), Alec, the brown wolf and pack leader, and Eaen, the black wolf. Suma; the white wolf, is part of the main focus of book two, carrying out a tease and play romance with Grane that once again allows Dane to define paranormal romance with precision. We wait anxiously to discover the fate of her well-drawn characters, and Dane doesn’t disappoint. She has also introduced new and exciting characters such as Armand, Ane, Elga, and the most anticipated, Kenricky.
Alec and Luna’s pack soon discover that they are being tracked, literally, by humans, suspicious ones, much like the ones that have hurt and tortured their kind in the past. Grane is the ex-warrior who volunteers to seek out the humans with his accomplice, the one who holds his heart, Suma. Soon, Grane encounters an unexpected problem that only a certain human can undo. Grane and Suma have taken that human, Kenricky, hostage. The new character turns out to be the well written comical relief that the second book provides.
Through it all, Grane seeks the forgiveness that he longs, the redemption he hopes to acquire. He has memories that never die, and a way about him that may prove to be vital for the new pack’s survival, but will Suma understand? The second adventure in the series is exciting, well paced, fun, and page-turning. SC Dane lives up to her first endeavor beautifully. Kenricky, the third book in the series, is bound to be another hit for SC Dane.
