Forgotten Promise: Rejoining Our Cosmic Family

Rate this book
This is the story of one woman's life-long interaction with beings from another world, and her journey to go beyond the fear to find meaning and purpose. In this book she explores the abduction experience and shares with you the three important things they insisted she learn.

"This is my story. I cannot prove any of it. For years I was encouraged to write about these experiences, but I resisted. This is not an easy story for me to write, and it might not be easy for you to read or believe. I understand that. . . This book is not only a recounting of my experiences but also the story of how I discovered that, like most things, it is possible to turn the worst thing in your life into something positive just by choosing to look at it from a different perspective." -from the author

The book and her stories were OVERALL interesting. She did warn us in the beginning that the format of speech would be like a regular conversation you'd have with a friend, so I can't judge her on how very hard it was to read half the time when timelines were being jumped back and forth so much sometimes you needed to clue in stuff on your own to figure out what decade she was talking about. Everything seemed acceptable in her experiences, even though almost every cliché of alien phenomenon was randomly brought into her accounts (crop circle- via the ships landing spaces, missing time, mind possession/mind warp, going through walls, and the farmhouse and everything). But, I have to give her the benefit of the doubt and trust that what she claimed all along was true- that she had no interest or prior knowledge to the sci-fi/alien propaganda and culture, even though many events were like reading a sci-fi story (which made me enjoy this a lot). I have had my own experiences on this subject, hence my interest in finishing this, and it kept me until close to the end when in her mentioning the whole "connect with Source" or really "God" kind of didn't do anything for me. She claimed to have "left the church" at 15 (?) but apparently, as seen throughout the book with mentions of "how can God allow this?", that she obviously still believed in the Christian concept of a Creator, or God. Her source for a lot of the end of this book is from "A Course in Miracles", which upon looking it up on here seems to be a course based on a very Christian way of approaching spirituality. I'm just concerned that while yes, it has helped her cope with her experiences to believe it all has to do with some "source", it just seemed like the whole Source topic was too agenda-like; it has all to do with the whole "Age of Aquarius" movement of things, and even though I have no true experience on the topics she mentioned in the end (nor can i wholeheartedly agree with them, especially not spiritually believing in a "God"), but she HAS made me open my eyes and ears to a different point of view, a different take on alien agendas. The truth is, i've always been frightened by them as well, wondered about their purpose, MY purpose for being here, and so where many things in this book i felt too close to (like it was directed at me and my personal experiences), there was the end of the book that didn't resonate with me, almost like shutting it out.

I changed from 3 stars to 4, simply because I noticed my emotions getting in the way, and at the end, her purpose in telling this tale of hers, was in the end to open our eyes to something we are not so readily able to accept as Truth. So, she got me there. I read this book in less than a week (would've been shorter, but alas, life duties)! I couldn't put it down at all, I had to finish it as soon as possible, I felt it was important to do so. It DID seem like a casual conversation with all the year jumps and no concern for scientific journalism practices, like staying in chronological order, though it bugged me when she said that when she was in "eternity" she could see "God", supposedly looking like.. a human? Or was that just beneficial for her and us to understand better, but really then that wasn't the real form of "God" then?

This book leaves too many questions, which is why I've left it at 4 stars. What was the purpose of spaceships if they could basically materialize to our dimension? and how do the dimensions work? Is it only our planet or in the entire Universe, every planet has its own set of dimensions? Apparently pointing out that around 2009/2010 is when all the downfall starts for our planet, are you saying that everyone here currently is "staying" to participate in evolving? How do children being born work into that equation, then? Where did those not participating go to, assuming they have "left", like stated in the book? Did they have to die to leave? Do they know they're gone? Where have they gone? Are we generally supposed to assume the Greys are like Angels, in the idea from the book that we were "created"? That the Greys' "light" is too high for us, like Angels in the Bible have been thought of? What in the Bible is true, if any? What in Christian mythology [in the Bible] should be considered accurate, if anything, when concerning the alien/Grey phenomenon, as well as the whole "transitioning" into a new vibration? Is this new age supposed to be considered "The Apocalypse"? or "The second coming of Jesus", only those are just ways for the humans at the time to perceive it?

So honestly, she did a great job in opening the door to more questions, and so I hope she will either write more, or if she really was supposed to relate all this, to explain specifically the notion of how the Christian God and faith has anything to do with aliens, because in the end, that is very important to understand how most humans can approach this topic more quickly, versus everyone just getting abducted all the time.

This was an interesting book. As before starting this book, I am not convinced either way about aliens, but the narrative was compelling, and the author's insights are of interest for their symmetry, if nothing else. I have no experiences of this kind of my own, so I can't comment on their veracity, but they are at least internally consistent, and match up with the depictions I have encountered before. While the book didn't compel me to believe, it was not meant to, and did raise some interesting questions to ponder.

As harrowing as this book sometimes was, I still enjoyed it immensely. The author's bravery in sharing her lifelong experiences with alien abduction is appreciated. For myself, I just can't imagine how she managed it.
The "stigma" around aliens, UFOs, and the various topics connected with them could benefit from some lightening up - meaning, less judgment and more curiosity and acceptance. That's abundantly clear from Sherry's experiences alone. So hoping the publication of this book helps that cause.
Finally, deep appreciation for the three lessons Sherry learned - was taught with great intention - through her experiences. They seem to offer further validation for those of us invested in raising Earth's vibration and healing her wounds.

I guess my most positive take on this book is the bravery of the author to come out and share her experiences. The subject matter is close to home and I can relate to some of the findings on a personal level. The writing style is simple to read, although I became quite bored in many sections and lost my enthusiasm to continue reading a few times. I had to put the book down several times due to its repetitive nature, but I got there in the end.

True life story.

I chose a rating of five because I know this is a true story. I could have written it based on personal experience. So much of Sherry's life mirrors my own. I thank her for having the courage to share it.

EXCELLENT READ, WELL RECOMMENED!!

As a spiritual person, I could really feel a close resemblance ,to that of the "Author" ... I was often told by My mother while growing up that I was different to the rest of my siblings,( being one of six), and that I was very much 'The black Sheep' of the family..I also totally got the feelings especially when I was a child, that I almost wanted to 'Get out of myself/body.. Never could I understand that feeling. Thanks to reading this book, I now understand a lot more about myself, and feelings... This book certainly was written for a purpose, and therefore in my eyes, essential to OUR learning about our TRUE PURPOSE, IN LIFE.. Many Many thanks for the education.!!

Amazing book, I couldn't put it down! This book was suggested to me after I posted my love for Dolores Cannon on my IG. Thank you Sherry for sharing your brave words, it's because of people like you that this topic is no longer taboo in our society and the world is waking up. If anyone wants more positive abduction stories, check out The Custodians by Dolores Cannon 👌🏻

I personally believe that the majority of the people who have read, or are currently reading this book, Are' Experiencers themselves who are trying to find answers about their experience And the phenomena itself. It's a great story and it's not all about lights In the sky and flying saucers.

I bought this book because I saw her speak on YouTube. She seemed believable and sincere. I like this kind of stuff.

But I really was intrigued when she started quoting A Course in Miracles. That’s a work I have studied for over 30 years.

In fact, it is the thought system behind a book I am writing. So hearing her quote it and use it’s techniques within this story got me very excited.

I bought the audiobook too. The reader was excellent and easy to understand. Very pleasant to listen to also.

But when Sherry explained her reluctance to publish this work it peaked my interest. I had been on the fence about publishing my book because of seemingly constant problems with formatting, layout, and other grammatical issues. After hearing her tell of the courage it took to publish even though her daughters had basically disowned her, it made me realize I needed to change my mind and release my book as it is.

Gaia needs us to release the work we came here to do NOW! It is time NOW to do what we came on this planet for.

So, thank you Sherry for kicking me in the a$$ to push the button.

I really hope we meet someday. I know we have so much to talk about with regards to ACIM, Dolores Cannon, and Unity Consciousness.

I truly enjoyed this book. If you have issues with believing in extraterrestrial beings then this book is not for you. I was inspired by the last parts of the book that dealt more on what she had been taught by these beings. I wish she had expounded more on the latter part of her journey, but then again maybe it is too difficult to explain any further than she has. I was so inspired that I looked up her website to get a better feel of her as an individual. I read bits of her blog. I wish I hadn't, although if you are into conspiracy theories and such than you'll enjoy it. I do recommend the book. As Dolores Cannon would say...it's a little mind candy

***Spoilers***

I found this book to be very interesting as I personally felt I was having my own strange experience with extraterrestrial dreams. My fear however took over and I started to believe the book was making me fear aliens more than I ever have. As a result I had to stop reading the book. Her experience with the aliens was very frightening and I could not understand why she felt they were her "family" when all they did was create fear in her.

It's quite interesting that as I was experiencing my own fear and paranoia I started to take control of my life again and not let the fear overwhelm. Feeling this control again I wanted to finish the book and I was pleasantly surprised to read that she too took control of her fear and stood up and calmly accepted it.

I found the last 3 chapters to be very enlightening about the oneness with God and the higher vibrations that the earth wants to go up to and that humankind is not ready, but one by one we will eventually get there.

It is very interesting that the second to last chapter led me to like this book again as my beliefs coincide so closely with what these "greys" were teaching this woman, except mine was more of a spiritual journey with my own spiritual beliefs - never touching on the subject of extraterrestrial beings.

It is for this reason that I give this book 4/5. It certainly made me think a lot about whether aliens exist, whether I was experiencing something or just becoming paranoid. All I know is that we are all going through our journey and it doesn't matter if the dreams are real or not. The point is for me to reach a higher vibration and realize that we are one with God (an idea I learned recently before reading this book).

I praise this book for making me think a lot about life. Perhaps it is not for everyone to read. I certainly felt she was just paranoid and took it too far at first until I decided to read it again and finish it. Now I believe she really has experienced something. I'm not sure if everything she mentioned was the help by her extraterrestrial family (particularly the last car incident bit), but I do believe she is learning to understand what we are truly here to do. A journey we all need to take on our own as she says in her book to reach a higher vibration.

I liked this book. Even though it was repetitive and annoying, I still enjoyed it for the most part.

The language and sentence structures were fine. Nothing to write home about, but also nothing to detract from the substance of the book. The same goes for the characters and plot lines. In fact those sometimes drove me a bit batty because the main character refused to learn from the past. And in some cases was incapable of such leaving you having to read the same reaction to different things over and over.

But, this did not take away from the experience either. If anything it may have helped some. The thing about this book is… It is a first person, non-fiction, account of a life full of alien abductions. It is slow moving and slightly scary and confusing. But, it all ties together in the end.

In fact, I think that the final chapter makes the book. It not only makes the book interesting, it makes it important. This is something that most people should read.

This kind of book, a memoir of alien abduction experiences, is similar to the Book of Mormon in that if you do not believe Joseph Smith is a Prophet of God it is fiction.

She opens the book with two very important thing to help understand her story. 1) She wrote the book in a conversational style. Prepare for repeated phrases and words and not the greatest organization. 2) In her own words she says she may have been programmed or brainwashed to have the opinions about the Greys she does.

If you are familiar with Alien Abduction lore, there is a lot of familiar events. She goes into fairly good detail about her encounters with those I would like to crush the giant skulls with my bare hands. So much so that if you truly believe and think you have been abducted it can get a little intense.

At the end of the book she starts going into the "three important things to know" or the Galactic Federation of light higher freq vibration stuff.

Geat read and outstanding inspiration

I started reading this book thinking it was one of many, same thing over and over. But it is different in that it shows a development of her interactions and a growth in understanding of what is at stake with this ¨Greys¨ stuff. I found it illuminating and straight through, compelling reading. New information to poder is available on this book, be patient to the end, read carefully and internaliza.

Fantastic!

Sherry is a truly amazing person. She has given a lot of insight and much to think about. Its a lot to take in but how can you not believe her? I've read other books that corroborate her information from the greys. She says she isn't a very good writer several times but I think she did a fantastic job of getting her message out there and telling her story. Very enjoyable read.
