Also, it was clear and sunny while I was reading this, but for some odd reason, I was practically able to hear and smell the rain at the end, due to Cliff's excellent illustrations.

Have an autographed copy of this. Love it to bits too. Swashbuckling is the word that describes Delilah Dirk and all her adventures.

Both this and Turkish Lieutenant are two of my favourite examples of the word swashbuckling. So there.

A shorter, B&W story, that's PWYW on the official website. I really liked it, even though it has much less pages than the Turkish lieutenant, it still manages to have action and a brief spotlight for Selim.

for years i thought this was like a dark and serious meditation on the nature of chance and circumstances or something
then i finally read it and no it’s silly goofy shenanigans
which i enjoyed (I think I don’t remember)
but i kinda wanted to read the serious thing

My first time reading a comic on-line! So avant-garde of me! The comic is black and white, which means the story lost subtlety, and some details were difficult to discern, and that took away from my enjoyment quite a bit. More than once, the panels seem to skip around, the order felt off, or I felt like I'd missed a few panels. Plus, there isn't really much of a story here: Delilah needs to get a document signed, she uses knives, the end.

Final verdict: charming, but somewhat lacking.
