TORN
A Second Sight Novella
Book 2

Psychic Isabelle de Grey and FBI Special Agent Gavin “Mac” MacMillan are an improbable couple. But when her world of seeing into the past and his world of profiling criminals overlaps, an intense, sensual relationship quickly erupts. Despite bicoastal living arrangements, red-hot desire still consumes them both. Though Isabelle is thrilled that Mac is returning to L.A., her happiness is tempered by the grim reality they must face.

The serial killer who escaped them has struck again and kidnapped another young woman. Though Isabelle and Mac work together, he keeps their relationship hidden in order to preserve his job. As the investigation falters and the strain of secrecy takes its toll, Isabelle and Mac struggle to find a way forward. Despite the heated passion that explodes between them, hard decisions lay in store for the couple as they discover that every choice has its cost.

Hazel and her husband stopped being separate people years ago. They live their happy life in the always crowded, mostly sunny, and sometimes sweltering city of LA. Though they haven’t managed it yet, plans are afoot to add a kitty to the household, thereby giving the allergist fits.

Hazel has been writing full-time for several years, with some traditionally published work in other genres. But it’s her indie-published romance that fuels the creative fire. It turns out writing isn’t a job, it’s an obsession.

When you can pry Hazel’s fingers from the laptop, you’ll find her: on the elliptical watching a documentary, indulging her audiobook habit, or spending quality time with Candy Crush. Although she’s vegan, she’s a disaster in the kitchen. Luckily, potato chips and pinot noir come ready-made.

Another very steamy installment, with couple once again trying to save a kidnapped girl. Short steamy story with baddie getting away with murder. And now I am onto next installment.

Isabelle and Mac are now something of an item even though they live on opposite sides of the country. When another young woman is taken by the serial killer they team up again.

You learn a little bit more about the killer, it is fast paced and though there's not a lot of feeling to them the sexy scenes are entertaining. Other things fell flat. I feel like the whole Mac being a profiler is just kinda there and when it does come up he is not very impressive. I also feel like their romance is just there. Attraction does not equal love and I didn't understand why they were supposed to feel anything more for each other... They hardly spoke.

Still Reading Series

Good book. I'm about to start on #3 and then I have to take a break and do some family "stuff". Although I am getting a little antsy about seeing this bad guy getting caught!!

For a quick read it shows promise! It could be a very good full crime/paranormal novel it felt very force and very rushed to pack it all into 11 chapters. She clearly has a talent just these short blasts need more!

Wow

This addition to Isabelle and Macs story was as quick and fast paced as the last and just as enjoyable. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Torn is Book 2 in the Second Sight Series by Hazel Hunter. *Note, these books build up against the other so it is REQUIRED to be read in order*
Book 1 leaves us with the rescue of Esme but "the priest" is still at large.
Book 2 starts us off with Isabelle and Mac's love story but quickly moves along to the "priests" next victim.
This book is a short, quick read. Most of the characters are repeated from book one so little introduction is needed. It should be noted that on top of all the excitement of the chase, this book has some steamy sex scene, I mean HOT!
Definitely looking forward to book 3.

Torn

I am loving this series. The more I read the more I get drawn in. This psychic not only gets to work with the FBI but she has her own hot agent. Part three promises to be very thrilling.

there are certain scenes that are very long. but I couldn't fully read the details of the knee portion. I get enough knee pains with adding phantom ones. good story I'm starting part 3 now.

Did not finish. If the author spent as much time and effort on the actual story scenes as she did the sex scenes this might have been a halfway decent read.
