A disavowed spy has his long-awaited vengeance in sight...

Framed as a traitor, Adam Maxwell opted to lend his expertise to Unknown Identities, with the understanding that someday he'd get a chance to get even with the man who set him up. An orphan, giving up his past proved easier than surrendering his normal vision to the UI research scientists.

To Selena Vaccaro, owner of a showroom in NYC's Garment District, family is everything. So when her cousin is kidnapped, she agrees to trade a valuable watch for her cousin's life, but what should have been a relatively simple exchange turns complicated in the blink of an eye.

Adam doesn't know how or why Selena is connected to his nemesis, but he can't let her involvement change his plan for revenge. Until he realizes she offers something far more valuable - a chance to be loved.

Introducing Unknown Identities: an alternative for elite soldiers and spies facing criminal charges... if they can survive the program. Don't miss Bulletproof, the first installment of this sizzling, action-packed series, or Sandman, the next installment, coming soon.

This bk was more equal romance to suspense and less intense than the 1st bk (Bulletproof). This time it's Adam, "Double Vision", who's been framed as a traitor by Unknown Identities (UI). "The Messenger", Gabriel, assigns Adam to watch over Selena, a designer who owns a showroom in the garment district.

Selena's cousin is being held hostage in exchange for a watch her ex-boyfriend claims she has and he wants back. Selena must get the watch from her cousin's apartment which unbeknownst to her holds secret info and return it to the boyfriend in exchange for her cousin's life. Adam's been assigned to watch Selena by "The Messenger", Gabriel. It's not immediately clear how these 2 stories interact until a bit later in the bk. "The Messenger" wasn't portrayed as such the baddie this time as the ex-boyfriend captured that title. But you know they're all stirring the same pot. This was another fast paced story that ended all too soon. Although this is a solid story, I have to say I enjoyed the first bk better than this one. Adam/Selena do get their HEA (happily ever after), but I didn't have the warm feelings for Adam that I had for John in bk 1. Adam seemed hopeful and a bit clueless to the evils of UI. Maybe that's just Adam's personality. Brief appearances by John, Amelia and Ben here have me wanting to continue this series to see what's up next. Hoping to see this cast of good guy characters grow and converge on the creator of the Unknown Identities and expose them. Look forward to bk 3.

Double Vision is the second in Regan Black’s Unknown Identities Series. The short novella moves quickly and takes place soon after the events of Bulletproof. Selena Vaccaro’s cousin has been kidnapped. The only way to save her is to deliver a valuable watch to a former CIA operative. Adam Maxwell is keeping an eye on Selena, who is reported to have stolen nano-technology in her possession. The more Adam learns about Selena the less he believes her involvement. A dramatic theft brings them both together in an effort to stay alive. This is a great choice for anyone looking for a quick, fast paced read.

Adam was once carter

Book two is about Adam he is like John noble and has been watching over a women selene. personally he should clear his name even if he doesn't use it, it might come back to him later.I don't understand messenger (Gabriel) is he bad? In book one John faked his death to get off his radar along with his lady (they have a cameo in this) Gabriel used them like puppets so I guess so but he helped adam? The bad guy in this book was after a watch with a sd card.

As stated in the very accurate blurb, Adam Maxwell and Selena Vaccaro play cat and mouse with a suave and cunning common enemy after learning to trust each other, in their goal to re-capture the macguffin. To this reader’s taste depth and connectivity were lacking keeping this reader un-invested in the outing.

Good read

Adam met Selena while he was selling food from his cart. Selena had found out that her cousin had been kidnapped and was tied to a chair. She went to her cousin's apartment to try and trade a watch for her freedom. Adam was in the hallway and saved her.

Double Vision was such a good mix of action, suspense, and just enough romance. The characters had great chemistry, and the twists kept me guessing the whole time. Reagan Black really nailed it with this one — I was all in from the start.

Double Vision

A sequel to Bulletproof has come to us and I devoured it! Double Vision still has the hard gritty edge, and steamy sexuality that stunned us in Bulletproof… The new member of the Unknown Identities project we meet Adam Maxwell, who has been tied to our mysterious ‘Messenger’ we know as Gabriel. Adam was setup and kicked out of the CIA and would have gone to jail with hard time. He has for the last five years, taken this out and is working for UI to pay off his debt.

John Noble and Amelia and their mysterious sidekick Ben travel to NYC for the holidays and are enmeshed in this story line subtly…It is great to see them but this is all about Adam Maxwell and Selena Vaccaro.

Selena Vaccaro owns a designer clothing shop in the garment district. Her cousin Renata had been involved with a boyfriend Jeremy Galloway…It had been a whirlwind of dating for the past year. He has now contacted Selena and has asked her to go to Renata’s apartment wanting a watch back that he gave Renata. To sweeten the pot, he has shown her a photo that shows Renata tied up, blindfolded, and desperate.

Selena thought her cousin was away in Europe and safe, now she is not so sure. Selena has not lived under a rock. Coming from a Sicilian family, the family here in the states are straight but their contacts in Sicily are connected.

Adam Maxwell enhanced abilities are in his vision. Normally he can only see shades of grey, but he can switch his vision to night vision… He stands outside near Selena’s shop, acting as a food street vendor, watching for the man that Selena is to meet. Watching this beautiful girl, he has thoughts about what ifs and that he would never be so lucky.

Selena and Adam do not know it yet but their meeting is coming soon and it will be explosive. Again Ms Black uses this story of another strong woman and an alpha male. The meeting is exquisite and the courage and strength of both of these two are forefront.

There is a third novella being released for this series in a week or so and I will be on line to buy it …as I am Bought into this series already!

Gabriel, the Messenger, offers Adam Maxwell a chance to get his revenge. If he succeeds with this surveillance job, his record will be erased. He will no longer be considered a traitor. Jeremy Galloway, the man responsible, is pure evil. Now this villain has targeted Selena Vaccaro who Adam is shadowing. Her cousin, Renata, has a "watch" that he wants returned. Adam's protective instincts are awakened as is his desire. He wants to protect Selena. Can these two defeat Jeremy? Regan Black has done it again. The second book in the Unknown Identities series is a suspenseful thriller with a great touch of romance and redemption. Adam and Selena are engaging characters. They make you care what happens to them. Adam is a strong hero with a caring heart. Selena is a brave and honorable woman who will sacrifice for her family. I love that we caught up with John, Amelia and Ben. The story was a fast paced read. I'm hooked. Now on to book three.
