Wow, Evie Rose has done it again! I'm always super excited to read her books. They're full of OTT mafia men and the women who love them. I will NEVER not like this trope- it's like kryptonite for me!

One night, Lotte begs her dad to go with him for a meeting just so she can go outside... what she doesn't realize is that the man she meets that night will have so much in common with her! Nikolai knows he doesn't deserve her, but he makes an offer Lotte's dad can't refuse. Something along the the lines of, "Let me marry Lotte and I'll end the war against the her family."

October 20, 2023Too much age gap for me (20/40). It was also mentioned he knew her and that he's in love with her for quite some time, but not really said for how long. I feel like there's an ongoing story even before the book starts.

It looks like I read this series in reverse. While I loved the second book, this one was a letdown. I don't know if it was my mood, but it took me so much time to read it, even though it is such a short one.
I even diagonal read the big spicy scene 😬😂. I'm not sure what the problem was, but I just couldn't care about these two characters. She was all like, "I need to take my revenge, even though my father was the actual villain all this time yada yada yada." It annoyed me also that he said he was such a "great" tech guy or whatever, but he didn't know or suspected at all the level of isolation she was suffering at the hand of her father. Plus, I really did not need to know how experienced he was.
But you know what!? I am biased here, so this might and it will for sure work for some other readers.
ps: better try the next one 🤞🖤

Well I tried. I just couldn't with the characters. Being a novella, you really have to have good characters in a story so short. Didn't happen.

Novella that probably should have been a full-length novel. Rapunzel-like mafia princess gets arranged married to an already obsessed with her bratva guy, planning to kill him for his past crimes. But things aren't what they seem.
Too rushed, could've been teased out into something more suspenseful.
Also, I hate the use of the word "unalive" in the blurb. If you can't say "kill" due to app censorship, find another way to word it. "My only way out is to eliminate/destroy/dispatch/do away with/execute/terminate/knock off/rub out/take bloody revenge upon my husband."

I've been really enjoying these novellas by ER (her most recent ones in particular)- I didn't really love this one, but still kudos to it for making me read something during my slump 😭.

Lotte has been hidden away by her father & has spent her time posting videos of her singing on social media. She connects to her number one fan almost daily. To forge a truce between two rival factions Lotte is to marry Nikolai, the ruthless new mafia boss who is older, gorgeous, and brutal.
Another very well written engrossing novella. I loved both Nikolai & Lotte, he’s loved her for a while but she’s wary to begin with & hoping to get her vengeance. However things don't always go to plan & as Nikolai reveals his caring loving side Lotte starts to question everything she believed. I loved the twist at the end & also loved their journey to a HEA, A gem of a novella

Another short billionaire mafia read from Evie Rose, and at this point I’ve read quite a few of her novellas. This one leans into a light Rapunzel vibe, complete with references sprinkled throughout. While the FMC is kept largely locked down by her father, our MMC is a highly intelligent, tech-savvy mafia boss who stalks his way into becoming a kingpin and into her life.
As with the others, this one is short and sweet, giving you just enough to scratch the itch but not quite enough to fully immerse yourself in the world or the characters. It’s very much a quick, fast-paced read meant to be devoured in one sitting.
I did feel a bit of a disconnect with the FMC’s emotional shift. One moment she’s actively trying to kill him, and the next she’s suddenly all in and ready for babies. Even for a novella, I would’ve liked a brief pause for things to breathe and for that transition to feel a bit more earned.
I also wanted more detail around the wedding, both the planning and the event itself. It felt rushed and glossed over, and that’s one area where a few extra pages could’ve really added to the payoff.
That said, I do love how each FMC in this series has her own hobby or passion. In the previous book it was baking cupcakes, and here it’s singing and posting her music online. It’s a small touch, but one I really appreciate.

Her only exposure to the outside world is through the internet and she’s been posting anonymous clips of her singing. She’s even got a most dedicated fan. When she accompanies her father to dinner with Nikolai, the male lead and the head of a rival mafia outfit, she’s shocked when he names her as his bride as his price for peace between their two factions.
Nikolai has been keeping electronic tabs on her family for years and is secretly her most dedicated fan. He may be old enough to be her father but that’s certainly not what he feels for her. Now he just needs to convince her that she’s not exchanging one prison for another…
This novella is dual POV, well written and edited, and a sexy contemporary mafia romance. I enjoyed Nikolai’s dedication to restoring Lotte’s self-confidence and encouraging her success. I enjoyed Lotte’s dawning understanding of who Nikolai was and what he was offering her. I enjoyed the relationship development and the character development it supported. I enjoyed the intimacies between the lead characters. I enjoyed Lotte’s final strength of mind and body and the revenge she enacted.

A gorgeous specimen of my favorite insta-love brand of novellas, with a dazzling, possessive hero who falls first and falls hard! And this time with the added bonus of my favorite trope, a marriage of convenience! I also loved that this was slightly longer than the other novellas and gave me the time to get to know the main characters better. The writing is stellar as always and the lovemaking scenes exude emotions and passion. I’d love to read an entire novel like this, with a bit more angst and some plot twists, but maybe it would lose the magic of these little gems…

I would take Nikolai any day!
I liked this story a lot. It was entertaining and enjoyable although frustrating at times. Charlotte’s father was a real piece of work. He deserved some comeuppance for what he did but I wonder, did he get off too easy? Nikolai and Charlotte (Lotte) met in a restaurant but both of them were there with different ideas as to what they wanted to accomplish. Nikolai was amazing. We all need someone in our lives like Nikolai. He was so supportive, protective, caring, and loving. He did things that he thought would make Lotte happy and made corrections or changes if he was wrong. I loved their happily ever after. I recommend reading this book.

To try bridge the divide Lotte arranges a meet with Nikolai, notorious new player after getting his hands dirty to reach the top in the London Bratva. He's the main threat after murdering her own mother.
He quickly proposes he take Lotte off her father's hands and he'll call a truce and Lotte sees this as he opportunity to avenge her mother!
Secrets unfold and Nikolai enjoys making his new wife beg for him.

I adored this book! An enemies to lovers is always fun, add in mafia and age gap and it just makes me even happier. But what I truly loved about this is how Nikolai loves Lotte. What’s he’s done to protect her and make her happy is just wonderful to read. Definitely over the top….but what else could you expect from him? :)
And Lotte was fantastic. She was such a strong woman to live like she did for years and I love how she doesn’t take for granted the freedom Nik gives her. At least once she realizes it’s real and not a ploy.

I was really surprised by the plot line for this one. I don't think I have read a one sided enemies to lovers' story before.
She was a caged bird deprived of touch and love.
He stalked her and fell in love with her before she ever even knew he existed.
She hated him on principle because of the family he belonged to.
He only ever wanted to love and take care of her, but she did believe she could ever trust him
There were a couple of surprising plot twists.
There was a lot of sexual tension between the two of them, and it exploded in several very steamy scenes.

Well, Evie Rose has outdone herself with this incredible Novella. I was going to comment about how this is he falls first but I think Nikolai said it best himself "Not so much “touch her and die”, more “even think of touching her and die”. (Is it getting hot in here, or is that just me)
This novella was EVERYTHING I love; posessive, he falls first, touch her and die, I hate everyone but you and so fucking smutty... so, so smutty.

Great novella, mafia, arranged marriage, enemies to lovers (on her part).
Lotte is the daughter of the head of the Tottenham mafia. She has been locked in her tower for 3 years under the guise of keeping her safe. Nikolai is the head of the Edmonton mafia, it is agreed that Lotte and Nikolai will marry to unite the two groups.
Really enjoyed the story and the character development.

An addictive and compellingly savage love story! Charlotte begins this story as a sad victim, a caged bird, and an unwilling captive. When she arranges to meet with the bratva kingpin, she sees an opportunity to gain her freedom. Let me just say that Charlotte is my favorite female lead character in a while. Reading this book pulls you into her plans and you won't be able to put it down once you start reading it! I couldn't, lol!

fairytale feels
Nikolai and Lotte love story has elements of fairytales we all enjoyed. Our knight in shining armor happens to be a Bratva boss intent on protecting his princess. The beautiful, untouchable princess has a lovely singing voice but is hidden away in her castle. This book took a different turn than I expected. So romantic! Not a ton of steamy scenes in this one. More of a slow burn. No math club cameos. Quick read that will leave you smiling.

Mafia romance isn’t usually my cup of tea. This novella is well written and has good main characters, if you can overlook the murdery tendencies. I actually enjoyed the story because Nikolai, while overbearing, had a good heart when it came to protecting Charlotte. Straight up full of steam and smut talk. I liked it better than I thought I would.

She plans her revenge, only to find her new husband is obsessed with her and her secret online music career. Well written steamy desires age gap, captive arranged marriage romance
