Do not assume that Tony and Claire's story is complete, because beyond the conclusion of Convicted there is more to be REVEALED!
**This novel has been retitled. You can find Behind His Eyes Convicted now titled REVEALED. It is the same story. New cover and title. Not a word of the story was changed.

In my education as a meteorologist, I learned how essential elements combined in just the right way to create the perfect storm. Finding the one element, the one piece of the puzzle that completed the devastation would be like choosing the single raindrop responsible for a ruinous flood or the upward draft that completed the destructive funnel cloud. Each drop of water or gust of wind played a role in the destruction. In my education as Mrs. Rawlings, I learned how each storm, no matter how small, played a role in creating the perfect companion. As a town is never the same after a destructive storm, neither was I.
If you are reading this book, it means that you have enjoyed Tony and Claire’s journey so far and you still crave for more. If you hated Tony and Claire’s journey I really don’t understand why you keep reading it. This is book 5. So you had 4 major chances before in order to quit it. This is a very hard story to read, so I see no point someone torturing himself/herself if they don’t like it.
I admit the story had some high moments and some low moments for me. I loved some parts of the five books, I hated some other parts. But everything is balanced and well- written.
Right…so, I don’t actually have much to add to my reviews of the previous books. I just have a few things to point out for this specific book: 1. I believe this is my favourite book of the whole series. It is fast paced and with a lot of angst –although you already know the result. And you can finally understand the way that most of the main characters are thinking. 2. The book accompanies beautifully book 3 of the series i.e. “Convicted”, but I am certain that if you only read “Revealed: The Missing Years”, you will be just fine. It is the same book in fact from a different perspective. While “Convicted” starts with the mystery of ‘why is Claire in a mental institute?’ and ‘where is Tony? is he still alive?’; “The Missing Years” have a more direct approach. The events are happening one after the other. There are no mysteries. 3. The book has multiple points of view. Everyone is reading Meredith Banks’ book “My Life as It Didn’t Appear” and they can finally understand Claire’s torment. When I say everyone, I mean Brent, John, Phil, Tony, Tony’s therapist etc. Everything is puplic knowledge now and “appearance: never doubt its power or importance” is the least of Tony’s problems right now. 4. You will get a small extended epilogue that takes us to February 2018. And everyone lives a happily ever after. The bad people are in jail and far far away, the good people are always smiling.
There is another book in the series with the years after and I plan to start it straight away.
BHE - Convicted: The Missing Years is no longer a companion. It's a full length novel giving us the complete story from the Missing Years and beautifully takes us beyond the Convicted journey and gives us a little of their future too! It's a unique story, one like no other... One that's a total mind fuck but so very, very worth the reading experience.
In this, the fourth full length book, we hear the point of view of Tony, Harry, John, Phil and Brent. All of the male characters have a story to tell about events and, for us the reader, it means every thought, every wonder and every question is answered. Aleatha Romig wrote her series with so much depth, and so many tangible characters, that this multiple POV telling works to wondrous affect.
It took me a little longer than usual to totally connect to this installment but once I was in it, I was hooked and NEEDED to know every last beautiful and painful detail.
We're reminded of the good and bad in Tony Rawlings.... His brutality but equally, as before, he touched my heart and showed me who he really is.
Clever storytelling with the use of Meridith's book gave us another important perspective.
We now have the perfect conclusion because the missing years ties everything up and puts a big shiny bow on for good measure. The final part gave me complete and utter understanding of everything. It left me feeling content with a happy heart.
And made me cry!
If you've experienced and loved this series, you'll not want to miss the final piece of the puzzle and if you've yet to sample the story of Tony and Claire you're missing something very special... This is a taster of what it's about....
this is only the 3rd book i've ever started and not finished...and i've read hundreds of books.
ok...so i picked consequences last year as a book club book...and i HATED it...i HATED tony...i could not believe so many readers out there liked and supported him. his entire life was built on unfounded revenge that started when he was a kid that he never fully understood. and then he literally almost beat claire to death and tortured her for years...and she just forgives all that and champions his cause and wants to have a child with him and live happily ever after? does someone really ever stop being that angry? like it just disolves?
so i refused to read the behind his eyes books because who wants to read what's going through the psychopath's head while he is raping and torturing someone and eventually nearly beating them to death.
i was somewhat interested in learning more about harry because i liked him from the beginning and he was not painted in a great light in convicted. i really liked brent and thought his POV would be beneficial.
i tried to get through this book...i made it to 30% and i just can't continue. we already know the ultimate outcome to the story and this book is just a frustrating mix of misunderstanding and manipulation that i cannot muddle through.
if you want to read this, good luck. you're gonna need it.
I just want to start out by saying that this is definitely a companion book. You have to read Convicted to know what is going on in this book but...it is a full length novel with some new material from the various POVs.
I was a bit leery at first as far as getting the other POVs especially when all I care about is Tony's but they kind of grew on me. They certainly helped with filling in the blanks ~before, during and after~ those missing years.
Naturally, I enjoyed Tony's the most. It was interesting to see what he went through in jail and heart breaking that he couldn't see Nichol. I'm a little torn about his 'counseling'...I'm not sure if it was beneficial or not.
Next would be a tie between Brent's and John's. Brent because he is Tony's best friend but also, because of what he did. I liked getting more of his thoughts and also how he came to terms with his feelings about what Tony had done. John's was the same way but with a much further gap to cross. I thought his was a bit more mellow than I had anticipated. I almost wanted Emily's but I'm not sure I could've handled all that intensity!
Harry's was distracting for me and I'm not sure I really cared about it. The only good thing was what came about with Amber and then how things end up for him.
Phil's POV was good but I think there wasn't enough of it. I would've liked to have gotten more from when Meredith got into Evergreen and at the end with his 'position'.
I was a bit disappointed that we didn't get any steaminess! I really wanted that reunion scene...WTH?
And I do have to mention that I was very happy with the toned down usage of nonetheless(5)/nevertheless(13)! I almost didn't notice it. Well done, AR!
Overall, I enjoyed it. I liked that we got the missing puzzles pieces even though it read like a CSI episode at times. The ending was great even if it also skips a couple of years but at least it was for a good reason. I think I will actually miss Tony!

Behind His Eyes: Convicted-The Missing Years was a spellbinding and captivating read that you could not put down. Aleatha Romig did a phenomenal job in this 4th installment where readers are immersed in not only Tony’s POV but as well as from Harry, John, Brent and Phil. In their eyes, we are welcomed to a whole a new fresh perspective of what these men had to endured from Tony’s legal troubles to Claire being institutionalized. They say the eyes are useless when the mind is blind and so Ms. Romig will open our eyes in this final installment. Nothing is black and white. Love is not perfect. The truth hurts. And behind their eyes is a story to be told.
The passion and love Tony had for Claire was undeniable. His love and devotion for Claire was seen and felt throughout this book. Tony went through hell and back defending his love for Claire and Nichol. In his eyes, readers got to see the real pain, heartbreak, and loss Tony had to endure from the trial to his prison time. Every ounce of raw pain, anger, guilt, shame and heartache could be felt. Tony’s perspective brought a fresh new outlook on what he had to face and admit. His past was something that couldn’t be erased and once his sins were exposed, Tony had to finally face his consequences. Tony’s POV while he was in prison was eye-opening. For the first time, readers got to see the reasoning behind of why Tony wanted set Claire free.
Ms. Romig did an exceptional job in showcasing the strong connection and bond of Tony and Claire. In my opinion, I felt their love was similar to a Chinese proverb called the Red Strings of Fate. In this proverb, it states “ an invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place and circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle. But it will never break.” I truly believe Tony and Claire were fated for each other and were the missing piece to each other’s heart. Though, what started as an unconventional romantic tale, the battles and obstacles they endured was a testament that love conquers all. Tony and Claire are not perfect but the imperfections of their love makes it perfect for them. They say the beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides and in Claire’s eyes, the love she has for Anthony Rawlings was the only thing that existed. For years, Tony was living in the dark and Claire and Nichol brought light into his eyes. Behind Tony’s eyes, lies a man who found light, love, and the meaning to live.
What I truly love about this book was that we finally got to know what Claire told Meredith. In the eyes of Harry, Phil, John and Tony, they finally got a glimpse and understanding of what Claire truly felt when she was with Tony. What truly surprised me in this book was that I began to see a whole new side of John and was in love with his character. I began to see that John was indeed a good and honest man. In John’s eyes, we get an inside glimpse that he finally understood that Tony and Claire’s love knows no limits, but ardently transcends all bounds.
Behind His Eyes: Convicted-The Missing Years was a riveting conclusion of this captivating series. Behind Tony’s Rawlings eyes, lies a story of man who was hated, loved and redeemed. Tony and Claire’s story reminds us all that regardless of time and separation, true love isn’t easy but must be fought for. And of course there are always consequences for every action.
Thank you Ms. Romig for bringing us Tony and Claire!
Aleatha Romig, there are not enough words/thoughts/emotions for the love I have for your brilliant mind. This book was utter perfection. The missing years told so much and explained so much, you finished this series the best way possible for all your fans. You took Tony and Claire full circle. I read that last word and smiled...
Everyone who is a fan of the Consequences series needs no prodding to read this last book in the series. To those of you who haven't experienced the amazing awesomeness of this wickedly perfect series....GO, one click the entire series and be prepared to have the best, most crazy, mind exploding roller-coaster ride of your life.
6++++++ STARS!!!!! Aleatha This was ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL!!!!!!
“I’m not proud of the things I’ve done in the past, and I would never do them again. I would do anything to have never behaved as I did. You need to know that this time things were different.”
I have read every single book in the Consequences Series and I can honestly say that this one if my favorite of the entire series.
For those of you that have only read Consequences, Truth, & Convicted you can definitely read this one without reading the Novella’s of Behind His Eyes Consequences and Behind His Eyes Truth.
This is the perfect end to an amazing series. Aleatha tells us this story through more than just Tony’s eyes. We get the point of views from Phil (Roach), Harry Baldwin, John Vandersol, and Brent Simmons also. I wondered how Aleatha was going to pull this off with these added POV’s and I was a little nervous I will admit, but I will say that with Aleatha adding these men’s POV’s you get so many more answers to the puzzle. She did a Phenomenal job of bringing this series to an end.
I will also admit, that I loved seeing the struggles that Tony went through. His time spent away from Claire really made him see the light in the way he had been acting and behaving. On more than one occasion Aleatha had me in tears… And I NEVER thought I would shed a tear for Tony and I did more than once. After reading the entire series, Aleatha has finally succeeded in Tony being let into my heart and by the end of the book I loved him.
This is the final pieces to the puzzle, we get the much needed answers that some of us had been looking for throughout this series. We see who was fired from Rawlings Industries, We watch Harry Learn all there is to know about his sister….. and it is not pretty at all.
I love how dedicated Phil (Roach) was to this family. We saw things in a different light with his POV and it was amazing to see how much he truly cared for Claire and Nichol.
Tony’s reaction and the whole scene with Brent and Courtney about who helped Claire with her pardon, Aleatha had me in tears.
It is definitely a story with twists and turns. That will leave you saying WOW when you are done. Once you have all the pieces to the puzzle you will totally understand everything there is to know about Tony and Claire.
I want to thank Aleatha for bringing me one hell of a series. I have enjoyed every single word that I have read with this series and I am sure going to miss getting more from Tony and Claire.
You’ve experienced the CONSEQUENCES, you’ve learned the TRUTH, now you know who was CONVICTED...the time has come to see it from TONY’S point of view!
Each novella will be a collection of significant scenes, from each book, of the CONSEQUENCES Series. These will not be full length novels and won’t retell the entire series—only significant scenes, and because you asked for it...Behind His Eyes will also contain timelines and family trees.
It has been said that to truly understand a person, one must walk a mile in their shoes. BEHIND HIS EYES will be the rare opportunity to step into Anthony Rawlings’ Gucci loafers and experience the Consequences from his perspective.
Gah! I loved this book. I will say that you must have read Convicted before reading this book. This book gives us the multiple POVs of the men in this series: Tony, John, Brent, Harry and Phil. I always love getting the man's POV in a story and I was not disappointed here.
Even though I know John and Emily only want the best for Claire and Nichol, I really hated how they treated Tony. If they would have just listened to Claire before, things could have been different. Claire may have shall we say, "gotten over her issues quicker."
I loved getting answers to some questions that Convicted left me with, but what was even more enjoyable was the new bits of story and information that Romig added to this book. Especially that last chapter. This was a perfect ending to this series. I'm sad that it took me so long to read it, but so happy that I finally did.
"It is during in our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light - Aristotle Onassis"
Love that the whole book is from the different point of views of all the male characters. Aleatha Romig's writing is just extraordinary! FULL REVIEW TO FOLLOW.
Wish I could give it more. I have loved everyone of these books, and patiently waited for the next one to come out. Aleatha out did herself on this one. If I had to pick my favorite of the series, hands down, this one. When I finally got to the end of this book, I stood from my seated position on the sofa and clapped my hands. My husband looked at me like I had two heads and I explained that I was giving Aleatha Romig a standing ovation. Well played my friend. My only problem now is, I am torn. This is it. The Consequences series is over. I must move on and I cannot wait to see what Aleatha has brewing in that busy little mind of hers. “I’m not proud of the things I’ve done in the past, and I would never do them again." Goodbye Tony.
Meredith'in yazdığı kitabı... Claire'in yokluğunda! hayatındaki erkeklerin neler yaptığını... Ve Claire ile Tony'nin tekrar bir araya gelmesinden sonra neler olduğunu merak ediyorsanız... Aradığınız cevaplar bu kitapta! Muhteşemdi!!
Aleatha Romig gives us a special treat in this expanded version of what she originally thought would be a simple companion novel. Instead we see the events play out through the eyes of all the men in Claire's life. Tony, Harry, John, Brent and Phil.... They all get a voice.
When I read the third book in this series there was a a huge gap of information that I was dying to know about. I wanted to know how Tony survived while in prison, being away from Claire & Nichol and how he came to the conclusions he came to by the time he was released. But beyond just Tony's revelations we got the insight into the others.
Phil. I has skeptical of him early on. But his caring for Claire and Nichol in this put me at ease and actually made me appreciate him far more than I expected.
Brent. Can you say, rock & a hard place? Getting to see Brent struggle with the two sides of Tony and his feelings of loyalty and friendship towards the man.
Harry. Now, I was not a fan of Harry. Not really at all. But I felt horrible for him through most of this. He was in difficult spots with every woman he ever loved and dealing with that on top of the way he had to let go of his life for his job made me actually change my tune. By the final chapter of this book I was ready to start asking for a Harry book.
John. My thoughts on John are really skewed by his cunt of a wife. Emily. Jesus did I want to punch her in her face, over and over and over again. John dealt with her much better than I would have. I think I would have smothered her in her sleep. For me, John's POV was more of a window into Emily rather than John. But you saw how he did care for Claire as a protector, being the one in her life when she lost her parents and I think he balanced Emily out enough to ensure that Claire and Tony could eventually get her to forgive him for the past.
Tony. What an emotional mess this man made me. I was so choked up during most of his parts in this and then completely lost it towards the end. The change he made and how he realized so much while he was placed into a situation that he placed Claire in, gave me the knowledge to be at peace with my feelings towards him. Tony was one of those characters that you struggle with. You know that you shouldn't love him, hell liking him is immoral... but you just can't help it. In this book, you see beyond all that - you see the man and the reason behind his actions. It doesn't change what he did, but it gives you the hope that you need that he truly wishes he could undo all the damage that he did.
Now this story does expand just past the third book (eventually). And although I've seen a few posts about this being repetitive, for me that was not the case. Sure we now how the pieces all fit together, but we only saw what Claire allowed us to see - we didn't see these events through the eyes of the major players.
Aleatha Romig's mind must be a wonderfully fucked up place to be. Pure genius is contained within the folds of this series. For those that loved the Consequences Series, these add-ons are must reads.
Behind His Eyes – Convicted THE MISSING YEARS by Aleatha Romig 5 stars!!!
“Once upon a time, signed a napkin that he knew was a contract. As an esteemed businessman, he forgot one very important rule – he forgot to read the fine print. It wasn’t an acquisition to own another person as he’d previously assumed. It was an agreement to acquire a soul. – Aleatha Romig, CONVICTED”
After a bit of a slow burn in the beginning, this book certainly picks up in pace and delivers continuously until the very last word.
This is by no means Convicted from Tony’s POV, this is so much MORE! If you thought you already knew Tony, you are mistaken, it is not until after you read this instalment that you will finally get to meet and understand the REAL Tony. This book was so enlightening, not only regarding Tony but also all the men involved in this series as we are treated to POV gems from Harry, Phil, John and Brent.
The part that I always thought was missing from Convicted was details of Tony’s incarceration and the trial of Catherine. This is covered in depth in this instalment. It is in fact Tony’s incarceration chapters that are the most enlightening of all. Up until this point Tony had never read Claire’s memoir book that Meredith published, part of his “time” is seeing a therapist and the therapist makes him read them. His reaction and thought processes during this extremely difficult time are at times unsettling but they are a much needed process that he needed to go through to finally realise exactly what he put Claire through and why, it is during this process that we finally get to witness the rebirth of Anthony Rawlings, his metamorphosis was beautiful to watch and finally I understood and could justify why I turned my hatred for Tony to love. I always thought I was some deranged person for loving Tony at the end but we get to see just how much power Catherine had over him, he was in fact broken himself and Catherine manipulated his weaknesses, it is finally when his eyes are opened to her depravity and the love that he is receiving from Claire that he finally sees the light.
“I suppose I should start in the beginning – March 2010. No, that wasn’t when I was born. It was when I began to live. Most people think I’m crazy – maybe I am. You see I began to live the day my life was taken away. Funny, I don’t remember how it happened. I do know now, it never could’ve been stopped.
Anthony Rawlings wanted me. If I’ve learned one lesson in my life – and believe me, I’ve learned many – Anthony Rawlings always got what he wanted. – Claire Rawlings”
Once again this book brought back the memories of Emily and John’s misguided attempts to keep Claire and Nichol “safe” from Tony. While this goes someway to explaining their thought processes it did not make it any easier to read. One thing that did come as a surprise was the mellowing of John towards Tony and how early it started, there is one pivotal moment in this book with regards to their relationship where Tony writes him a letter, I was extremely touched reading this and it just went to show how far Tony had evolved and even though prison was preventing him from doing what he wanted he realised who exactly were the best people to do so in his absence.
We also get to see Tony’s thought processes behind the controversial “divorce” scene towards the end of Convicted. Finally, I could see where Tony was coming from, even though I still cried!! It was part of his internal therapy that he needed to ensure that Claire was with him for all the right reasons, it had to be her decision, he wanted to be wanted for who he was, not what he had done.
“His chest ached with pride and love, sadness and regret. It was the promise of a future swirling in a whirlwind of remorse.”
There are still some shocking things revealed in this book, I thought that all of those were out the way during this series, but no, Aleatha still had a few cards up her sleeve and these were definitely dealt with the shock factor!! Bombshells…I thought Aleatha couldn’t surprise me anymore, but be prepared for more!!
The best part of this series apart from prison and the trial was most definitely the epilogue, to finally see what happened to all of them after was a joy to read and did give some closure on all these characters that we love to read about.
In summary, this book finally uncomplicates a complicated series, the layers are peeled back and we are finally treated to the bare bones underneath. Being in Tony’s head throughout these “Behind His Eyes” has not only been eye opening but has gone quite a way in explaining some of Tony’s behaviour. While he will in no way ever be exonerated for his actions in the beginning and this I will never forgive him for, I could somehow understand how and why he did it. If you were still unsure about your feelings towards him I am sure that this instalment will go quite a way in changing your opinion. It also shows how Tony changed over a period of years, because Convicted never went into these details and it seemed he literally changed overnight; I found it hard to believe. In this instalment we are finally able to witness his transition over a much longer period of time, it made Convicted more understandable and much more believable.
“I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love. – Mother Theresa”
One thing I love in this series is that it doesn't slows down the pace and it keeps you on your toes page to page giving you that adreline rush feeling.
We already know who were convicted in book 3, what's the fuss on reading book 4? The final of the final piece of the puzzle eh*raised eyebrow* (but for me as a fan of the trilogy, why not, I enjoyed the suspense and romance in it and I'm so glad for another book);)
"Behind his eyes the missing years" is a new story which live by its title. The missing years was told in the POV of Tony, Harry, Phil, Brent and John. Witness behind their eyes how the consequences unfold during what happened in the Rawlings estate to the trials and court hearings, therapy session during jail time and other revelations.
Of course I love every moment being inside the minds of these guys If only there's something dirty going on their mind hehe but none of that happened, we are talking serious shits here and I enjoyed it so I much.
What I love most was the therapy sessions of Tony as he faced the consequences of his own mistakes. It was during those moments that we saw how remorseful he was on what he did to Claire in the early years of their time together although he's been groveling since book two, seeing Tony's transition from the mad man we love to hate in book one to being the hero he come to be in book three was delightful to read, like hey people change you know and I'm glad he'd change for the better:)♥
Another exceptional read was the other men. So sad that Harry has to face the revelation about his sister and I don't know if the author will make a story about him, hopefully not, let it end that way with an open conclusion of starting over again. John was a good character too, I love the letter Tony sent to him hah! And I was happy he come to respect Tony in a different light despite of what happened. Phil aka Mr. Hacker, proves his loyalty many times for Claire and stayed close to the Rawlings family. Brent was an amazing friend to Tony, I really like how he and Courtney work their way through helping Tony and Claire during the most diffucult time of their lives. His strong keenship with Tony knows no bounderies whether he's his lawyer or friend, he was right there helping him out all the way.
So this is the "final" book in the series and so sad it ends again *sigh*
♚ One of my favorite series has come to an end. It's a little bittersweet but it's been a journey worth taking so thank you, Aleatha Romig, for giving us the story of Tony & Claire and proving once again that love does conquer all and that everyone deserves a second chance.
♛ I said it before and I'll say it again - 'Behind His Eyes' is a must read for fans of the series. This wasn't just a ploy by the author to sell more books but a useful [IMO] addition to the series and never once did I feel like I was rereading the trilogy in Tony's POV.
♜ 'The Missing Years' was a great finale and wrapped up the series beautifully! Loved how we got every male character's POV in this novel and the 'book within a book' concept was absolutely brilliant! It's sad to say 'Good Bye' but all good things must come to an end at some point, right?
♞ I'll definitely be on a lookout for more work from this wonderful author.
Have you ever finished a book and/or series and just sat back and felt complete contentment?? I don't know that I ever really have....until now!!
Now, you all know that this series, when it was only 3 books long was a great big 50+ star read for me!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT, EVERY MINUTE, FROM THE VERY BEGINNING!!! So, I really never imagined that it could get better. But O.M.G. - it totally did!!
"In our fuck'n wasted game of chess, the king can survive without the queen, but he doesn't want to - he needs her." ~Tony
The Missing Years is like the icing on the cake, it made the story of Tony and Claire go from absolutely wonderful to completely phenomenal!!! It was that little bit extra from all of the characters that you never even really realized you needed or was missing!! Ya know what I mean?
I fell head over heals in love with this story and the characters(well maybe not Tony, right away) from the beginning and couldn't get enough of being a voyeur in their lives, so you can imagine how giddy I was to get to spend more time with them!! I loved getting to spend more time inside Tony's head, since he is one of the most amazingly complex characters I have ever had the pleasure of meeting!
If you haven't had the pleasure of facing the Consequences or learning the Truth, please don't waste another minute!! I promise, you will devour the entire series, companion novels and all!! Believe me, you wouldn't want to disappoint Tony!
What you should keep in mind while reading The Missing Years is that the HIS is being plural. Exactly. Not only do we get to know what Anthony Rawling's been experiencing while in absence for the best part of Convicted but also the other men that kept reappearing throughout the series. Tony, John, Brent, Phil and Harry. They will get you through the story of guilt, sorrow, making difference, amendments, reunions and new beginnings.
Finally we've come to see the development of his new 'true self' through Anthony Rawling's eyes. In consequence he's growing in our eyes as the better man even more so. For him to be able to see his wrongdoings in a new light, to accept them and move from there, that's what's been missing until now. His struggle between the desire to set Claire free and do what his heart tells him to was quite endearing and so highly expected.
Each and every character develops right before our eyes.
Harry gets his new beginning with his family and in his professional life. He straightens things with the FBI and comes clean with others, including Claire's family.
Phil gets a lifetime assignment of being the watchman and appears to be happily doing so.
Brent gets my undying love with the recognition of being the courthouse terminator and judge slayer ;)
And John finally gets a chance to work out the negative feelings when the name Rawlings is concerned and he keeps getting better in just that- being a part of the Rawlings family life.
All in all The Missing Years is a great conclusion and addition to the series.
The Consequences series is hands-down, one of the best stories that I've ever read. This final book in the series answers the questions that remained after finishing Convicted. I hadn't really expected much more than a retelling of Convicted from Tony's POV, with little else added in. Instead, I got mystery and suspense with HUGE revelations. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, something else would be revealed, changing everything entirely. Aleatha Romig knocked it out of the park!
Once upon a time, signed a napkin that he knew was a contract. As an esteemed businessman, he forgot one very important rule—he forgot to read the fine print. It wasn’t an acquisition to own another person as he’d previously assumed. It was an agreement to acquire a soul. —Aleatha Romig, CONVICTED

This was the perfect ending for an incredible and amazing series. You Mrs. Romig are the master of deceit and appearances. I loved your books. All of them. there wasn't one book where I didn't want to cry or felt angst, or wanted to cut someone's ba"#%&$#/s or laugh out loud. I was immensely happy on how this book was written and finished. I think The Missing Years provided a great closure to this long and wonderful journey. This story will be in my heart forever. It exceeded my expectations and even though I knew what was going to happen at the end of it I still felt stressed for everyone's future. All those POV's gave me a different perspective of certain characters and others just made me hate them more. I don't say they can't be forgiven, but at least Tony owned his shit and was upfront of how an asshole he could be or he would be. For Example, Emily. A lot of people defend her stating she was trying to protect her sister. I on the other hand think she was just doing a pissing contest with Tony " Oh, you kept my sister isolated for years from us guess what? I can do that too". (she didn't said the previous line but I felt that at some point she was going to say it. The next line will show you how a bitch she was.
"...smile fluttered across Emily’s lips. “Well, all right.” John’s eyes narrowed. “Why do you have that smirk?” “Because I like the idea of keeping that bastard away and allowing Harry to visit. If I could, I’d take pictures!”
She was like a wolf in sheep clothing. I think she kept Claire sicker for not allowing her to see Tony. She kept her isolated and did the same thing Tony did to her. She wanted to control her every move since the beginning because she was used for Claire to to so and when Tony came in the picture she didn't like it.
Ohhh, and I also forgot about Harry. That guy was definitely a piece of work. I didn't fall for his . That asshole left Liz to "make his job" with Claire, he slept with Claire and then went back to Liz like if nothing had happened. He was supposedly to be in love with her and again!!!! Then he meets his daughters teacher and guess what?! Of course he liked her... So this only tells me how a narcissist bastard this man is because he only loves and cares about himself and every need he wants to meet at that moment.
I also love how easy she can make us fall off track with all those twists and turns. I wish I could say more without spoiling anything. Of course it won't be anything we already read on Convicted...but still the story is completely different. It is not just a re write of convicted. This book tells the story of all of HIS eyes. I want to congratulate Aleatha for that sharp and witty mind of hers that made this series possible. Again, I loved your books! I will definitely read anything else you write and of course I already requested my papaebacks for 1.5, 2.5 and 4. this is a must have in paperback story.
I can't believe that after all we endured and the journey we all had with this amazing story has come to an end. XD I finally have closure. I hate Emily just a bit less but still my blood boiled when she was doing exactly what tony did to Claire years ago. As for Harry my opinion just remained the same and reminded me how quickly he moves on from one woman to another. He is not someone you would want to stick with.
And if you don't know what I mean, then you're most definitely missing out on the goodness that it Ms. Aleatha Romig!
This was a glorious ending to this great series!
A unique story.
A distinctive writing style that's all Ms. Romig's.
And finally, a sheer talent in grasping one's attention from start to finish!
I started reading this series last year; and was fortunate enough to have both Consequences and Truth with me when I started reading (thank God), because I'd had seriously gone mad.
I mean... really! Remember Consequences?
And more of this..
Definitely, needing to do this..
And finally,
But then in Truth..
Clare got her claws on!
And towards the end I was...
But then, I got the taste of Convicted!
And it was..
And then the long wait for Convicted to come out..
And now, all 3 Behind His Eyes are done; and I'm out of any more Romig material left to cover the rest of this year!!
Behind His Eyes-Convicted is the fourth book in this intoxicating and gripping series but, in my opinion, should really be read as the sixth. It is the final installment and it literally blew me away. Convicted really did leave me questioning quite a bit and Behind His Eyes- Convicted brought everything to light. The reading order for this incredibly insane and twisted tale is as follows;
So, Behind His Eyes-Convicted is basically a book from 5 different male point of views. These males are all pivotal to how this story twist and turns while Claire is away visiting crazy land. Anthony, Harry, Phillip, John, and Brent really give us all the deets that we were all missing and wanting. Like, Catherine’s trial, what the hell Anthony was up to while Claire was gone, and why the hell John and Emily are such assholes. This book is huge for Anthony, in my opinion. If you didn’t love him before, you will now. He really comes into his own and you can see him change before your eyes. Aleatha did an incredible job of writing his voice this book. You really start to understand his crazy. He really starts to understand it too, and he changes, becoming less selfish and more loving. Also, my other favorite guy. Phillip! He is unwavering in his loyalty to Claire and Tony and it just makes me want to squeeze him. God knows they need his help.
Thank you, Mrs Vandersol, I will gladly resign my position when my employer, your sister, relieves me of my duties , and not a minute before.”
Thank you for being so bad ass, Phillip. I think in this book I was probably supposed to understand the Vandersol’s more from John’s point of view. But, it didn’t work. I still just cannot help but hate them. I really did grow to love Brent even more and started to understand all of the craziness behind Harry. What a fantastic ending to a marvelous series. I am sad its over and I cannot wait to see what Aleatha is up to next. Oh, and that epilogue! Epic Epilogue!

Such a bittersweet ending to an amazing series. I don't want it to be over!
The BHE additions have been like a warm blanket allowing me a little more time to snuggle up against my favorite devious mindf*cker, Tony Rawlings. It has been a dream to continue the story and explore every detail, some of which confirmed my suspicions and others that have changed my perspective. I feel like I know all of these characters so well and I will miss them all...OK, not all of them...LOL!
It has been a long journey that has come full circle. I went from hating Tony with a passion to loving him desperately. I will miss him most of all.
**sigh** What do you do when the story has finally ended? I have no clue but I doubt I'll ever forget these characters. I feel like I've known them a lifetime. I may even know some of them better than I know some in my family, which depending on the character and/or family member could be a good or bad thing.
This was the perfect way to end a wonderful series. We got our answers and Aleatha wrapped it up perfectly. I always say I love the male POVs and this certainly didn't disappoint. If you think you are only getting the story retold from the men's POV you are mistaken. You will get so much more from this book. Things you didn't know will come out.
This is one series where you will have characters you will love to hate and others you will hate to love..**cough cough** ...Tony, I hated you, I loved you, I hated you again and then I loved you again. Damn you make a person crazy!!
Thank You Aleatha for sharing this amazing story with us. I have loved every minute of it even those moments I wanted to choke certain characters. Very few stories can bring out the emotions that you brought out for your fans. I can't wait to see what you come up with next.
Good bye Tony and Claire you will be missed!! (I'm sure I'll revisit you two crazy kids again)
I love and might be slightly obsessed with Tony... (and refuse to say good-bye)
Consequences is my absolute FAVORITE series.
Like Ever.
Aleatha Romig is one of the most talented "MIND FUCK" authors to ever write.
HANDS DOWN
PERIOD.
BHE: The Missing Years is the shit!
I LURRRVE it!
It is amazingly written in several different male POVs.
It's new and fresh.
It gave profound insight into the minds of MY Tony as well as Phil, Harry, Brent and John.
I felt a deeper connection to them.
There is much more to it than just a "retelling".
Twist and turns are thrown up in the mix that add to the suspense, with a couple of new "oh shit" events that get exposed as well, questions get answered, mysteries solved, and a small "flash forward" into their future.
BHE: The Missing Years is the perfect conclusion to a perfect series.
