Sometimes you think you know exactly what life is going to be like and then something unexpected turns your world upside down.

Ashley Taylor is just starting her freshman year of high school. She’s certain this year will be exactly like every other. She'll go unnoticed in the shadow of her older brother, Ryan, because he and his two best friends, Todd and Brian, are juniors as well as stars on the varsity football team. Everyone knows and loves them, while she is only a freshman; a nobody.

Ashley has known both of her brother’s best friends her entire life, however, she's never really noticed Todd's clear, blue eyes and perfectly messy hair until now. Unfortunately, he still only sees her as Ryan's kid sister. Not to mention, he's also her best friend's older brother; so she needs to keep her true feelings a secret.

As she navigates her own, difficult feelings, Ashley learns that she's not the only one keeping secrets, and if these other secrets get out, they could destroy friendships... maybe even lives.

Horrible, Horrible, horrible!!! I was expecting a story abt Ashley and Todd but noooo I got the story of Ryan, Ashley's brother!! Why oh why didn't the author just wrote the abt him coz I didn't read abt Ashley's life as a freshman high school or how she and Todd got together it was just snippets of here and there abt them. It was abt Ryan and and Gretchen's love life. AAARRGGHH I can't believe I wasted my time with this book!

This was suppose to be her story, instead she was a secondary character in her own book! The way she and Todd got together was so sudden, no build up no nothing!

If I could give this a negative I would but I cant so im just giving this 1 star.

Excellent, excellent, excellent read. This book engaged me immediately from chapter one and I felt entranced in Ashley's world as if I was walking in her footsteps. As a non-American (without the USA high school experience to draw from) I felt it was an insightful and very real depiction of the trials and tribulations of high school in the states. What's great about Accidental Crush is that it's a romance themed, high school novel with a difference - it's not stuck focusing on the one predictable relationship in the story as many books in its genre are. We get to understand Ashley's world of close friendships, sibling dramas and watch as she navigates her way through the conflicts of her romance with Todd. We see her deal with secrets and rumors of high school that so closely affect all relationships around her. I'd highly recommend this book - it'll keep you guessing to the end.

I enjoyed this one, while the story does center on one couple it explores different relationship dynamics. I have to admit that the book felt complete and the thought of having to plot through a sequel or continue in a series makes me feel tired. A diverting way to spend time reading

I loved this book! And I can't get over how cheap it was! So I apologise for the long review but it's needed.

One of my favourite aspects in the book is the incredible friendship portrayed within the two separate groups, the juniors and the freshman. For example, you have Ashley and her friendship group which consists of two other characters, Shane and Sid. (Who I love by the way and you will too!) Then you have Todd’s friendship group which consists of a few more people but his main friends are Bryan and Ryan, the latter being Ashley’s brother. The humour you see within both groups is hilarious and there have been cases where I have genuinely laughed out loud. Ashley’s awkward moments remind me of myself since I’m not exactly the smoothest of people. In fact, I can probably make a person who never feels awkward, feel awkward. It’s a curse, I swear. Moving on, the loyalty and love between Ashley’s group is incredible and truly envious. Torrisi shows that you don’t need to have a lot of friends to be happy, as long as you have one (or two in Ashley’s case) who is trustworthy and has your back, then one is enough. Although there are a few secrets within the group, the book still shows the strong loyalty between them since nobody is perfect.

There is no one I really hated in this book. Actually, I lie. I really didn’t like RTS (Rebecca the slut) for reasons that become obvious as the story progresses, I especially hated her in the third book but that’s for another time and another review. Another character, who I was indecisive about, was Blythe. At first, I didn’t want to like her because she seemed a little bit of a troublemaker but as the story continued my opinion started to change. However, my favourite characters will always be Shane and Sid. Especially Shane! You witness his emotional struggles and the conflict he feels in discovering who he is and you can’t help but love him because of his easy going nature. I’m glad Torrisi put this character in because I couldn’t imagine the series without him!

Overall, this has become one of my favourite reads. I always choose this when I want to laugh or something to read quickly, or when I’m in the mood for a friendship/romance story. This series is definitely worth a read if you love high school romance stories! Adrienne Torrisi has now become one of my favourite authors, which might not be saying much since I have a lot of favourites, but if you love books then who doesn’t have several favourite authors.

So I'm not usually one to review, I just read, rate, and add to shelves and let my shelves do all the talking. However, this book has made me want to write a review. The only reason I am giving it 3 stars and not 2 is because of Ashley, Todd, and Shane. Don't get me wrong, it was a great book, but the description is totally misleading. Only about the last fourth of the book is even about Ashley and Todd. You might as well call it Ryan and Gretchen's book because that's really all it's about. Ryan gets into an accident, Gretchen is all over him, and then whenever Ashley is at school, that coincidentally is all Ashley sees. Between the various comments about how cute she thinks Todd is, it really is only about Ryan and Gretchen and their problems. I haven't seen a snoopier sister. And then there's Sid, who is completely self-centered and can't seem to keep her mouth shut about anything, which is why Ashley can't tell her anything about....sorry, not gonna ruin my review with spoilers. Also, I will admit, I almost couldn't handle all the Ryan and Gretchen for the first half of the book, but then the juicy stuff stuff started. So for those of you who are about halfway through and don't think you can make it, YOU CAN. IT GETS BETTER, I PROMISE. Todd and Ashley are super cute and that's what really got me through this book. To end my review I'll talk about Shane. He is hilarious and one of my favorite book best friends. He is always there for Ashley through all of it and I really like how the author developed his character. Okay, I'm done now. This review wasn't meant to dissuade others from reading this book, it was more to prepare them. Finally, everything here is entirely opinion and I apologize for upsetting anyone that reads this review.

Life has a funny way of helping you grow up, like finding out you've been crushing on your older brothers best friend who just so happens to be your best friends older brother. Until Ashley started high school, she never really noticed how cute Todd was. But when Ryan ends up in the hospital and Todd is there to comfort her, she finds herself staring at him, lost in thought about how blue his eyes are.

Trying to keep a crush on your best friends brother hidden is not easy. Ashley can only talk to Shane about her crush, now that he knows. Even though Ashley and Sydney are best friends, she doesn't exactly know how to tell her that she's crushing hard on Todd, talk about awkward! Can Ashley come to terms with possibly never getting a chance with Todd? Or will she tell him how she feels? Will they be able to have a go at a real relationship? These are things I wondered while I kept on reading this book.

As much as I do like this book, I have to admit that at times I felt like Adrienne didn't put enough into the story line, some times I didn't want to read more about Ryan and his issues or about Sydney. I wanted more about Todd and Ashley, given that they’re supposed to be the main characters. I do like that not the entire story revolved around just Ash and Todd, they weren't in some whirlwind romance that lasted a week where he already had professed his love, there was more to it than just them, at the same time I wanted more of a story with Todd and Ashley.

Good YA read.. I just wished the story is all about the heroine.. but alas its not. The first few chapter was mostly about the secondary characters and I thought the author just wanted to build them up for the next series. So I was cool with it, but it was a big disappointment that almost 80ish percent was all about her brother and the issue with his love life!

I like to read secondary characters but to read about them the entire story and totally forgot that this book should be about Ashley and Todd pissed me.

The whole Bryan/Blythe/Ryan/Gretchen got so old I actually skim some pages!

description

TBH this book should just be Ryan's book.. name it ACCIDENTAL KISS.. or something. lol.

Anywho~ I finished the book, don't know why.. I should have dnf-ed it but silly me, I kept hoping the next chapter would be Ashley's but alas.. it wasn't until like the last few chapters.

Oh well.. good ya book. 3.5ish stars.

November 24, 2013: This was a cute book, with a pretty shocking plot. I mean, it's like an average high school romance, but then there's an accident and it brings out new sides to people. It seems as if the main character should be a little older, not 15, but it's a good book and fun to read!

Update! June 6, 2015: I decided to re-read this and I really liked it the second time around too. In fact, as soon as I finished it, I bought the second book in the series :)

Even though I haven't experienced what Ashley has in high school, she is such a down-to-earth and relatable character who I rooted for the whole way through. Her and Todd are perfect, too! A fairytale romance :) Getting to know the other characters was cool too, and I have to say the drama and gossip in this book was crazy. Like a soap opera on paper! This was a fun read :)

Wow, I really liked this book! It was an enjoyable read, and I definitely would reccomend it to anyone.
I loved all the characters. There is literally not a single character I disliked, even Brian, though sometimes I just wanted to punch him in the face.
It was a little confusing about the whole Brian/Blythe/Ryan/Gretchen love triangle/square. I mean Brian said he loved Gretchen but he was weirdly jealous when Blythe and Ryan danced together..........
I know it said that the fight was mainly about Ryan than anything else, but it was still confusing. I would have liked some more clarification about that.
I loved the Todd/Ashley relationship. It was very cute, and I loved seeing them together. They made a very good couple.
To sum it up, this was a really good book and anybody who likes romance and teen drama should definitely read it.

Being in love with your best friend's brother and your brother's best friend, simple right? Not! But when things go from bad to worse when you learn that your brother's other best friend is making stuff up about him and telling his girlfriend who said friend is in love with and it's a few weeks before the big game. So when you and your best friends brother both keep the secret and get closer and when your brother finds out and freaks and leaves in his car and everyone follows and there is an accident and everyone's true feelings come out... Now that's a drama and one hell of a story! Loved it 100%!

Cute , & sweet

This is the first series I have read from Adrienne Torrisi. At first, I didn't care for Ryan's girlfriend, however, she changed after the accident towards Ash. This is a cute & must read series. If you have ever had that one crush in high school, this is the series to read. It would bring back memories. I can't wait to read the next book, to see what happens to Ash , & Todd. Adrienne Torrissi is an exceptional writer.

Totally loved it! Loved getting a window into the popular crowd in Ashley's high school. Good romance story (will he ever notice her... Will they get together...?) and drama I wasn't expecting that totally hooked me in! I loved all the characters, and could totally see this book as a CW show! Definitely recommend!!

This was a 99 cent special that I thought I would download. This actually was a pretty good story. I find the humor of what the students dressed up to be quite entertaining. This was a quick read and I really enjoyed getting to know the characters. This took me back to the high school days of being the "in crowd" and the others. I would recommend this book to others.

The perfect teen romance. Witty, sometimes funny, definitely emotional, and absolutely heartwarming.

I adore how the author captured Ash's personality as she dealt with her first crush and some much heavier issues.
