For non-Omanis this might be just a history book. For Omanis, this is a book that gives us an insight to who our former Sultan was. Also, as an Omani, I know lots of deets are missing, which makes the book more general history than a biography. Note: I have already read the Arabic copy of this book a while ago, but wanted to read the book again with a new mentality after the passing of Sultan Qaboos.
It was interesting, but a bit dry. The first third of the book, or maybe the first half is a lot of background or history that felt unnecessary. I do appreciate all that the Sultan did to further his country.
