I started this book 2 days ago and literally could not put it down!
Aubree Lane has written a compelling beautiful and touching romance novel. From page 1 I was hooked! The characters Annie, Marissa and Hannah all swooned over Terrence Javier in high school. He was a GOD.
When Annie met up with Terence, years later the attraction was still there. He was everything she remembered only now he had a beautiful daughter, Ericka. The twists and turns, along with the struggles and heartaches in the relationships that form only add to the page turning interests in this book.
Annie is a beautiful, talented interior designer who has put her heart and soul into building her business with the help of her best friend Marissa's father Larry. Marissa and David, her husband vacation to Hawaii where she discovers their high school crush Terence. Annie happens into the scene, where she and Terence rekindle a relationship that blossoms but with many obstacles. They are soul mates, destined to be together, but at what cost? Terence is hot, he's caring, he's a great father and everything Annie needs. It takes her a while to realize this relationship is meant to be. No matter the cost....Annie, Terence and Ericka ARE meant to be a family. Annie is a bit hard headed though and I fought with her in my mind over this.
I was torn with emotion, crying at parts as this family evolves and more characters emerge. As I became part of the relationship with Annie and Terance, I felt so much a part of this mixed up family. Each character literally tugged at my heart and I loved every moment of this book. I didn't want it to end and I just hope the author has plans for a sequel.... this isn't over and I look forward to book 2!
Well done Aubree Lane! You've given us all a beautiful story and I'm left wanting more. Kuddos for an amazing feel good romance novel!

Tall, Dark, Handsome Terence...and that smile! No wonder the girls wanted him back then! And still do! I do!

Aubree Lane is a remarkable writer. A talent to draw you in from start to finish. Her writing style brings her characters to life. You get to know each and everyone of them personally. You feel what they feel. Amazing!

This book is filled with romance, emotion and some twists and turns along the way. We are introduced to Terence, that best catch from high school, is now the best dad. The girls who wanted him back then get the chance to fulfill their old dreams of desire. And the plot thickens...

Marissa, who spots him while on a romantic getaway with her husband. Annie, Marissa's best friend weaves her way in to get him for herself. Will their lives ever be the same?

This is a 'MUST HAVE'. I loved every moment I spent with this book. Please bring us more Aubree Lane!

Early One Morning is not the typical science fiction or teen genre that I usually read, but I found it thoroughly enjoyable. Aubree Lane presents a well executed adult story that is very relatable.

Lane introduces us to two long time friends that share a high school fantasy surrounding a ‘hot’ latin boy from their past that one of the friends runs into seemingly by accident while on vacation in Hawaii. While both of the friends have moved on in their life, pursuing careers and relationships, they both find themselves drawn to him.

While Marissa is married—and clearly should not pursue an old crush—she devizes a plan to kiss her fantasy man. When she tells her friend, Annie of the plan, Annie beats her to the punch and charters the boat the fantasy man operates leaving Marissa behind.

While this story seemed to be heading along a typical romance theme Lane quickly introduces the true meaning behind the story. Erika is the six-year-old daughter of Terrence—the high school crush. This little girl is one that you will truly root for as she is drawn into a custody battle.

Throughout the story Lane takes the reader through a series of twists and turns regarding the the hearing, keeping the reader guessing as to the outcome. Along the way romance develops, feelings get hurt, friendships are questioned, and a child’s future lies in the balance.

The story moves at a good pace and brings the reader from LA to Hawaii. The romance is not too fast and not too much to overwhelm the story. Each character is well developed revealing motivations for each action and emotion.

Aubree Lane presents a well thought out theme and executes the story perfectly. The ending is not something that I saw coming. It is both satisfying and just right.

From the moment I opened this book on my Kindle I was enthralled. The characters practically jump out of the virtual pages and grab hold of you as if to say, "I'm real. Feel what I feel." The story is enticing in a way that I found myself inching closer and closer to the edge of my seat like one would do when watching a particularly intense movie. And the twists!! I didn't suspect ANY of them. Aubree Lane has done it again! Early One Morning is definitely a must read!

Aubree Lane knows what she is doing!

This was a greatly written story where each character is so defined. The descriptions of the scenes bring you into the story. The sex scenes are juicy, and the ending is AWESOME! (read it)

Seriously a great read that I have no trouble recommending. Bravo!

Annie Harper is one of San Diego’s top interior designers, but when her friend Marissa calls her about to make a huge mistake, she rushes off to Hawaii to ensure that doesn’t happen. What does happen is Annie meeting Terence Javier, her and Marissa’s former high school crush. Terence is a diving instructor and father of a ten year old daughter. When she hires him to take her out in his boat and a storm causes them to take refuge at his family’s home, sparks start to ignite between the two of them. When Terence seeks to get more time with his daughter, Erika, Annie enlists best friend and lawyer Marissa’s help for Terence. Unfortunately for Terence and Annie, Marissa insists that they refrain from indulging in their attraction for one another, but that all changes when the heartbreaking discovery that Erika is not Terence’s daughter comes out. After a judge decides that Erika should stay with Terence until the end of the school year, Annie and Terence are separated from one another, her in San Diego and him with Erika on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. Fortunately for the two, it isn’t for long. When Annie reunites with Terence after Christmas, he proposes to her yet Annie must return to the mainland for work. Shortly thereafter, Annie comes to the realization that things with Terence are moving too fast and that the attention should be focused on Erika upon her finding out Terence isn’t her father, Annie ends their short engagement. Their love for one another brings them back together, while the impending court date to decide Erika’s fate is still looming. Will Erika have to go live with her biological father or will she be able to remain with Terence, the father she’s always known, and Annie, the woman she wants to be her mom?
Early One Morning is a wonderful read. The storyline is well written, with so many twists and turns that it makes you wonder if any of the characters will have a happy ending, especially Terence, Annie, and little Erika. There are also twists that will inevitably leave you wondering whether the characters you initially disliked are worthy of your sympathy and understanding instead. You won’t be disappointed reading Early One Morning. There are so many characters whose fates are intertwined that there is no way to predict what the outcome will be, leaving you constantly turning the pages to find out the conclusion.

Early One Morning is a beautiful tale of love and family with page turning drama

From the beginning of this book it is pretty obvious that Aubree Lane put a lot of work into developing characters that draw you into their story. I’ve read so many books lately where the characters were one dimensional and hard to care for but these characters were different and it made me love the modern day romance even more.

The description of the locales was awesome you really felt like you were there in the moment with the characters on the beach soaking up the sun. Well done!

The friendship between Marissa and Annie provided great conflict and the competition for who gets the kiss first. The sad story of Erika and Terrence will pull at your heart strings and the romance between Terrence and Annie was hot.

The plot twists were crazy insane and they kept you turning the pages to find out what could possibly happen next. I highly recommend this book.

This was a page-turner. I became completely absorbed in the story and felt invested in what was happening to the characters. Ms. Lane is a writer with a unique voice, and the writing talent to make that voice easily accessible to her readers. I found myself marveling at her insight into human nature, and thinking about how and why my own relationships with friends and family have changed over time. To be entertained while being urged to think, all at the same time, is a very good thing. "Early One Morning" deserves all five stars.

Aubree, Aubree, Aubree.... Just how can I tell you how much I love this book!? Annie and Marissa are best friends, They do everything together. Marissa and her hubby David go on a second honeymoon to celebrate ten years of being married. Low and behold who does Marissa see on her sexond honeymoon?? Annie and Marissa's crush from high school Terence Javier. See Annie and Marissa had seen a yearbook pic of Terence way back in high school and have crushed,imagined,drooled.. basically you name they did over him! On her vacay Marissa is soo giddy seeing Terence she calls Annie to tell her .. What she also tells Annie is that she's gonna go kiss Terence! Now as an BFF would do .. Annie flew down to Hawaii to stop it from happening , what she didn't expect to happen was her actually falling for Terence. We learn that Terence has a little girl .. but boy do things unfold quickly! This book has so many twists and turns I did not expect that my neck needed a massage after I finished it! BUT don't get me wrong I LOVED the book .. I especially loved the sexiness of Terence! OOOHHHH WEEE and can I mention the SEX! Even the prelude to the sex was hot! Aubree you tugged my heart and had me feeling for both Annie and Erika ( Terence's little girl). Now don't get me wrong folks this book does have a HEA and I can't wait to read Marissa and David's Story, LATE ONE NIGHT coming out soon ! Everyone go ONE-CLICK IT! I give it 5 stars! ~Chris :)

I had the privilege of reading through a pre-publication draft of 'Early One Morning' for the author, Aubree Lane, in my role as editor. It was a rare pleasure. I found the story so absorbing that I had to use all my experience to keep focused on the job in hand.

The story tells of the friendship between Annie Harper and Marissa Crandall, and the love between Annie and Terence Javier. It is about the complexities of divorce, parenting and custody. The characters are believable. There is sexual tension, there is humour, and there are more twists in the tail than a bucket-full of snakes; just when you think you have it figured, Lane pulls the rug from under you. It is a delight to read.

From giggly high school crushes to backstabbing teen drama and more, Aubree Lane takes us through a thirteen year journey through the lives of a group of “friends” who turn out to be enemies who eventually turn out to be family. I found myself transported into the thick of the story equating these characters with people I know who have faced similar if not the same situations.
Early One Morning is masterfully written with many story lines that have been woven into one extremely dysfunctional group of individuals. There are moments where you are jaw-dropping surprised to ones where you are so angry you want to throw the book on the coffee table. One thing is certain, you won’t be able to stop reading once you begin.
Grab a banana split with lots of chocolate sauce because you will need every bite as you work your way through this fascinating story that takes place in two states I hope to someday visit…California and Hawaii. Good job, Ms. Lane! Good job!

There were parts that tug at your heartstrings and then some parts just completely unbelievable. Who flies thousands of miles on a whim to keep your (married) friend from kissing her charter captain on her anniversary trip? Does any of that sound remotely authentic? I seriously thought that was going to be a Marissa dream sequence and was so confused when it wasn't! Then her BFF turns out to be a raging mean girl and her "adoptive" father figure is a manipulative sleazeball. I mean, was this lady present in her own life ever? The ending was pretty great though, although it was disappointing that Eleanor didn't get some revenge and sounded like she was just trotting off to Hawaii to be with that jerk. I'd say this is a quick airplane or beach vacation read when you don't want to have to think too hard, but nothing I'm dying to read again.

'Early one Morning' is a fantastic read. Aubree Lane is a master craftsman of plot. She has portrayed immortal characters. Once you pick up the book it is hard to put it down without completing it.
The curiosity and interest remains alive from the first page to the
last. You always wish to to know "WHAT NEXT". The situations,
incidents and the happenings are gripping. Language is powerful. One
just fell in love with the protagonist. The work is an artistic
success and I highly recommend it for all those who wish to read
quality literature. FIVE STAR RATING STRAIGHT FROM MY HEART.

I was spellbound by the cover, but you know what they say about judging a book by the cover. This book might be better with an editor and/or a proofreader. The plot jumps unexpectedly in a confusing and hurried way, as if some sections were deleted to make the book shorter. Either way, I kept getting pulled out of the story because of typos and misspellings. Too late for me, but it would benefit future readers to edit and proofread this. I don't know how all the glowing 5-Star reviewers made it through this, accepting all those typos and misspellings. Does not make any sense.

Early one morning I started to read a new book . . .

Book 1 of the Love in Oahu series is well written and very enjoyable. The characters are well developed and fit together well in this love story. The underlying story of Erika and Hannah gives the reader a very deep understanding of the fact that life isn't always fair.

I received the book for free through Goodreads First Reads in exchange for my honest review. Thanks to the author and to Goodreads for this opportunity. I hate, hate, hate leaving bad reviews but this was not my most favorite book. I didn't really get into the book until about 1/3 of the way in. It was just SO farfetched for my liking. Example: A woman is on an intimate trip/anniversary vacation with her husband and she has the hots for a local with a boat (if you read the synopsis of the book you should know at least this much). She decides she wants to kiss this guy, while she is on a trip with her husband. Okay, that's very believable but here's the crazy part: her best friend shows up and runs off with the boat guy and the original lunatic lady goes back to the motel and pouts to her husband about not being able to kiss the local man. Seriously??? And her husband is sort of like "ohh It'll be okay." I wouldn't go all the way to Hawaii and interrupt my friend's anniversary just to foil her plan to kiss a man. Anyways, the book got better but there were still several things that just didn't make sense in an adult world. There were also a lot of names being thrown around (too many characters to keep up with), and too much unnecessary detail for me. The book had multiple twists that almost made you tired trying to keep up with who was scamming who and who was out to get what (it was to the point of overload for me, instead of page turning). Also, I was confused by the child's age and behavior. In one instance she jumped off the boat and tied it to the dock all on her own, another part of the book she is hiding behind her dad and tugging on his pant leg like a toddler. There wasn't a lot of "steam" to this book if you like descriptive sex scenes but I do remember one scene being pretty good. I guess this book was just too back and forth and drawn out for me. It has many great reviews so if the synopsis interests you at all, don't hesitate to try it, I'm one woman in a sea of many who like to read.

Wow! I really enjoyed this story!

Annie and Marissa have been best friends since high school. Back in high school when they were in choir, a new girl came to school. She was asked to share something about herself so the girls would get to know her. She brought her yearbooks from the school she attended in Hawaii. The girls all scoured the yearbooks for the hottest looking guys. They all came to the decision that the best looking one of all was Terence Javier.

Move forward several years....Marissa is a married mother of two, successful lawyer on vacation in Hawaii celebrating her 10th Anniversary with her husband. Annie is a very successful interior decorator who has an office in the building of Marissa and her father's law firm. Annie is watching Marissa and David's kids while they are on vacation.

Annie gets a phone call from Marissa saying their dive instructor is none other than THE Terence Javier and she's going to kiss him!

Annie doesn't care for Marissa's husband, David, at all.....but she doesn't want the last 10 years of Marissa's life to go down the drain over some school girl crush based on a yearbook picture either, so she takes the kids to David's mom's house, catches a flight to Hawaii, and hires Terence herself to take her out on his boat.....all so Marissa won't go see him and kiss him!

I felt like the story was going to be light hearted from there. It sucked me right in! There are several story plots (too many to write in a review), but Terence and Annie end up beginning a relationship, but face many things that come against it. How the family relationship ends up is so rewarding! I would recommend this to anyone (there are sexual situations)....but it's a great story, I really enjoyed it and look forward to more!

Early One Morning by Aubree Lane is one of those books that has you flipping pages quickly to find out what in the world could possibly happen next. I was completely captivated with the storyline and the characters right away.

Annie Harper has always been a big part of her best friend Marissa's family. They grew up more like sisters than just best friends. Marissa's Dad always included Annie in the family and was more like her father then her own parents were.

When Marissa calls Annie while on vacation with her husband, things start happening quickly. One things leads to another and Annie quickly falls in love with Terence Javier and his adorable little girl Ericka. Terence has problems that Annie thinks Marissa can help him with. This is when things start to happen quickly. I don't want to tell you too much about the storyline I will tell you there were times I cried and was completely shocked of what was unfolding before my eyes. There is plenty of drama and emotional scenes that certainly kept me turning pages very quickly. I could not wait to see what in the world was going to happen next and what effect that was going to have on all the characters I became very attached to.

Aubree Lane has created a fabulous story with intriguing characters that make you want to help them at times and every now and then smack a few of them. I even found myself feeling sorry for one of the characters that I did not think I would like at all to begin with.

I truly enjoyed Early One Morning and I would love to read more work by Ms. Lane. I enjoyed her voice and writing style.

I was given the opportunity to read this great book so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my pleasure to share my thoughts with you on Early One Morning.

I just finished reading Early One Morning. It is a book written by Aubree Lane. Two girls find themselves meeting a man they daydreamed over when they were teenagers. One of them winds up hooking up with him. They both find themselves helping him through a major custody battle that has more surprising twists than anyone could imagine. Will he get to keep his daughter and the woman of his dreams or will he lose them both?

I really enjoyed this book. I tend to like books that have many dramatic twists in them. I feel they keep a person on their toes. It’s one of my favorite types of things I enjoy when reading. Don’t get me wrong, I can do without it in a book. I’m just saying it helps keep my attention. I have to give the author major points for all the curve balls that she pitched during this book. I didn’t expect most of the things that happened until they happened. In fact, I found myself many times wondering what was going to happen next.

I have to be honest, when I first started this book, I didn’t think I would like it very much. In fact, I didn’t really get fully into it until the second chapter. After that, I got more and more sucked in. It grabbed more and more of my attention. I find myself glad that I didn’t set this book down like my initial intention was. I’m glad that I decided to stick it out and give it a chance.

I fully recommend this book. I’m very glad that I took the time to read it. This is definitely a romantic suspense that many romantic book lovers can sink their teeth into. I can’t wait to get ahold of the sequel to the book, Late One Night. It seems like a very interesting story. I guess I’ll have to wait and see!

Wow - so many twists and turns I never had a clue whose side anyone was on!

Annie Harper has flown to Hawaii after her best friend Marissa Crandall said she saw their secret crush Terence Javier there. Once there she realizes that Terence is more than she could have imagined and the two begin a relationship. In Hawaii Annie meets Terence's daughter Erika, whose mother, Hannah, was once close friends with Annie and Terence wants to keep Erika. But life's not that simple and soon they discover that each of their lives, and the lives of their friends and past relationships are so intertwined that alliances are made and broken and no one is sure who they can trust.

This book was great and kept me at the edge of my seat as I never knew who I could trust. I really liked Annie but found she was so confused due to not having a proper childhood with her own mother that she in turn had so many doubts about herself. Growing up with Marissa's family she felt as though she had a new family, but it never felt as secure as she would have liked.

I loved Terence and found he was so innocent through everything and was kept in the dark way too much. I was blown away by his devotion to both Erika and Annie and that all he truly wanted was a family that he could love and devote himself to.

For the most part the rest of the characters I had love/hate relationships with, as I'm sure the author was counting on. I went from liking them to hating them and back to liking them and I never had a clue what was going to happen next!

Such a great job with the book and I can't wait to read more!

'Early One Morning' is a literary treat with realistic characters that draw you immediately into their lives and the story. The addictive plot kept me reading to see what happened next. The setting of the book in San Diego and Hawaii is charming and a welcome respite from the cold and rain of the UK winter.

I liked the story's premise; meeting the school heartthrob years later and falling in love for real. The romance and passion in this story is engaging but the secrets from the past which are revealed and their effect on the characters' present day relationships is intriguing and makes 'Early One Morning' a memorable page turner.

If you enjoy romantic intrigue full of passion and emotion read 'Early One Morning'.

Aubree Lane where have you been all my life!

I love, love, loved this book!!!! Here’s a sneak peek of why I love this book…

“Why are you here?”

Annie took a deep breath. “Long version or short?”

“Short.”

“You.”

“Care to explain that?”

Annie smiled sweetly. “Don’t have to. You asked for the short version.”

“Well, I changed my mind.”

“Too late my turn.” She grabbed his chair and spun it around, so his body faced her. She leaned over and brushed her lips across the tip of his nose. “Can I kiss you?”

Terence didn’t miss a beat. “Long version or short?” His arms slipped around her waist and guided her into his lap as his mouth locked onto hers. Heaven itself could not have tasted any sweeter. When they broke away, they were breathless.

Grab the book and find out what happens next, and then come find me so we can gush over Terence together! OMG, I love him! If he came to my doorstep, it would be really hard not to jump in his arms and kiss that sexy face of his:)

This book has romance, but what I enjoyed the most was the friends and family. Even with all the secrets floating around I still felt the love everyone has for one another. I loved this book so much I bought her other book, “Sierra Mist.” That’s it, I’m done, grab this book!

I really enjoyed this book. It was slow to start but wow when It got started.. The rollercoaster of SHOCKS never stopped. You have 2 friends well actually 3 but we wont’ count one of them. Marissa and Annie went to high school together and Marissa’s family pretty much adopted Annie as one of their own. Throw in a high school heart throb by the name of Terrence and you get all kinds of shockers. The book takes you through some pretty rough spots with a daughter of Terrence who may not actually be his daughter, add in 2 very well known Lawyers who in their golden years have caused nothing but heartache for their families. The romance is also pretty hot !!! Annie and Marissa have a bet going on who can kiss Terrence first but Marissa is married LOL. Who gets the high school heartthrob? Well grab your copy and find out !!!
