It's 9 o'clock. Time for coffee. Every day, I visit the same diner. Every day, I see the same people. Except today. Today, something is very, very wrong.
Ok deci ce a fost cu cartea asta???? A avut vreo 20 de pagini, s-a citit repede, povestea ar fi avut potential daca ar fi fost actiunea putin mai diferita. 🙁
This short story gets 5 stars for intriguing me enough to spend 99 cents on it. Seriously, I hope this author can retire on people like me spending 99 cents at a time.
Brilliant! I started reading Coffee and was instantly drawn in by the tone of the writing. A line in the very first paragraph describing the endless crime show spinoffs told me I was going to love the whole story: "It's like watching one long stream of suits nodding furtively at one another." YES! This story felt like a modern day noir with a definite Hitchcock twist - you can feel the paranoia of the MC grow with every paragraph and I love the writer's decision to leave the MC unnamed. It somehow puts the reader more firmly in the driver's seat, and when the destination is a a psychological trip like this one that is always a win :-)
