USA Today Bestselling Author Gina Kincade spends her days tapping away at a keyboard, through blood, sweat, and often many tears, crafting steamy paranormal romances filled with shifters and vampires, along with witchy urban fantasy tales in magical worlds she hopes her readers yearn to crawl into.
A busy mom of three, she loves healthy home cooking, gardening, warm beaches, fast cars, and horseback riding.
Ms. Kincade's life is full, time is never on her side, and she wouldn't change a moment of it!
A new author for me. This is really a tale of 2 books in 1:
I would rate the first half 4 of 5. It was easy to lose myself in this world & the characters, and fun to read. Our 2 protagonists were slowly becoming a couple, while practicing all sorts of ancient Greek Magic.
The 2nd half is another story. Basically an unnecessary "adult" novel (those who have seen my previous reviews know that I STRONGLY feel that "explicit adult" does not belong in paranormal & supernatural books). Plus the "couple" goes way overboard in hiding secrets unnecessarily from each other, making this a frustrating read. They are both ancient Greek "immortals" & both don't want the other to know..... C'mon, it's something that would actually draw them closer if divulged.
The very end turns into action & leaves some unresolved issues, so I suspect here comes a series. I was also frustrated that despite spending a significant amount of time with Greek "mythology" in my lifetime, I have never heard of the male protagonist or his powers (greater than that of a God), & was a bit confused at times.
I think this author has a good writting voice, but let's keep the adult stuff to that genre (which I do also read), & the supernatural fantasy to it's genre.
Right now, it's apparantly trendy for Women to write explicit adult books (called "steamy" when written by women). Again, I think that's fine (other than an appearance of reverse sexism: it's ok for Women to do this, but not for Men), but combining the 2 genres is unnessecary & often icky.
Blue Moon Rising Gina Kincade & Erzabet Bishop 1.4/5 Did Not Finish
I've enjoyed Ms Kincade's writing as a solo author & with CD Gorri. Unfortunately, her writing with Ms Bishop hasn't worked for me.No matter how hard I tried (I read 25 chapters of 32 before giving up), I was unable to emotionally connect with the characters or the plot. I really tried to finish this, but it was too unpleasent. Features Witches, Mermaids, Naiads & a light f/f theme.
Dark Divination Andra Dill 3/5
My first experience with this author. OK story, but not great. I assume she's new at this & needs some more time to hone her skill. Readable, but I am glad it was short. I was unable to emotionally connect with the characters.
Feeling Clucky Lulu Sylvain 2/5
Again, either my first experience with this author, or I may have read something by her in another anthology, as the name is somewhat familiar. This one has me a bit confused. I thought this was suposed to be a paranormal/supernatural collection. Until the last chapter, this is a romance written for 13 year girls, except there is WAY too much explicit sex in it for someone of that age.
Reaper Laura Greenwood 3/5
The reason I chose to review this set: an exclusive book from the awesome Ms. Greenwood! I hope this is up to her normal high standards, as so far I've wasted a number of hours on a mediocre collection.
Well the good news is this huge set is only $4.00. This is not Ms Greenwood's best work. The 1st & last 1/4 are ok; I found the middle half somewhat upsetting & unengaging.
Shadows & Blood JC Brown 3.5/5
Yet another new author for me, & surprisingly the best book so far in this set. Short plot synopsis: Werewolves, Witches & Vampires have a council to prevent war between them. One of the 3 is trying to kill the other 2 & has broken up the council. A young couple of members from 2 of the three groups, is out to save the day.
This was enjoyable, though I suspect the author is pretty new to writing & will be really good with a few more books under their belt. I had enough connection with the charachters to enjoy this, but would have liked more.
That's now 2 books in the set that I found to be worth the read with 2 more to go.
Storm Bringer Ariel Dawn 2.5/5
Yet another author who is new to me. I was planning on writing that she needed to work on her writing skills because she was brand new; but I've learned that's not the case.
Basically, the problem is the book is WAY TOO LONG, & this is only book one of a series. There is a lot of extraneous (at least to me) stuff that doesn't aid in plot developement, nor in connection with the characters. Though their were some good MOMENTS, I will not be reading more from this author. It took me almost a week to finish it, & I only did so because I try to honor my commitments on ARCS.
Water Witch Gina Kincade & CD Gorri 5/5
I made it through a few chapters, & realised I'd already read & reviewed this book. Here is it:
This is actually a co-authored book with Ms Kincaid & CD Gorri. I just discovered Ms or Mr Gorri with this book.
Excellent stuff. I read it in 1 day, couldn't put it down.
The protagonist, Rio, is a water witch who knew nothing about her powers other than a related curse. She kills the school bully (he deserves it), ends her curse & falls in love.
Easy & really fun read. I'm an older male & not the target genre for youung adult paranormal romance, but in this insane world, I've found well written books in this genre to be a great distraction!
I'll be starting book 2 today or tomorrow & than waiting with bated breath for 3 & 4.
I really enjoyed this.

Great collection of eight wonderful stories from fantastic authors in this genre. The stories were engaging with appealing characters in stories that have action, drama and romance. The stories are: 1. Banished by Melora François This story was my first I've read by this author. I found the story enjoyable to read and I'd loved the characters, and it was well written. I'll be looking for more books to read by this author. This story is about Dionna "Dee" Pallas (The Goddess of Love) who's living in Seattle as a therapist and Gideon Blake a successful author. Dee after two thousand yrs. of exile longs for a chance to be reunited with her family summons Poseidon. Poseidon tells her she has to prove she's truly changed. Meanwhile, Gideon is with Hermes, and they are hunting for Apollo for Artemis at a cafe. There's been rumors of an immortal whose been leaving a signature trail, and they are hoping its him. Honing on the sliver of power he sets his sights on a lone woman who angrily stares him back. Turning away he bumps into another immortal, Dionna. Held in his arms Dionna body experiences extreme pain, pleasure and attraction. What occurs next was an enjoyable story. Will this be Dionna chance to prove herself? 2. Blue Moon Rising by Erzabet Bishop & Gina Kincade 3. Dark Divinations by Andra Dill 4. Feeling Clucky by Lulu M. Sylvian 5. Reaper by Laura Greenwood 6. Shadows and Blood by JC Brown 7. Storm Bringer by Ariel Dawn 8. Water Witch by Gina Kincade & C.D. Gorri
Blue Moon Rising by Erzabet Bishop & Gina Kincade - In the town of Bixby, known for its witches and other supernatural beings, a dark mystery unfolds. Numerous witches have vanished, prompting water witch Lucia to seek answers. Her search leads her to a lake near her bar, where she discovers Marina being pulled into the water. Reaper by Laura Greenwood - Anima is a Reaper who is unable to reap, so she exiles herself from all the other Reapers. Her troubles begin when her Demon friend, Lindsay, informs her that the Demon Queen, Chesca, is after her. Anima finds herself battling Demons, but she isn't alone in this fight. The Reaper Thanatos (Than) joins her as she battles on. Storm Bringer by Ariel Dawn - After shadowing various jobs in Roaryk, Ketra has had no luck finding a suitable match. She ends up being assigned to work in the diamond mine alongside her friend Fenton. One day, while Fenton is looking at a map and Ketra is tapping at the rocks with a hammer, she spots a piece of metal. This discovery marks the beginning of a magical journey for both Ketra and Fenton, and introduces the Guardian Sebastian into their lives. Water Witch by Gina Kincade & C.D. Gorri - Receiving an invitation to the Westwood Academy threw Rio Milagros for a loop. When she arrives at the school, a Sentinel named Magnus Knut is the guide. The above titles, along with four others, make up this collection of bizarre stories that include plenty of action, drama, romance, and steam. Very highly recommended.

Reaper Anima is having a slight issue with her reaper abilities. For some reason she was born without the tattoos of a reaper. Her only friend is a demon named Lindsey. She brings news...Chesca, one of the Queens of the Damned, wants her alive and has offered a reward for her capture and bringing her to her. Why is anyone's guess. Thanatos found out where Anima lives and has been tailing her. When she gets attacked for the third time he helps save her. He finally ask her what's going on and why is she being attacked by demons. She admits a demon is after her. Than finally gets to kiss her and then they are interrupted by Elijah. Ugh! They go back to her apartment and spend the night together. He asks her why he can feel her power. But she has no power hence why she's a lousy reaper. Then her friend comes and tells her that Than is in hell. Oh phoeey! Will she be able to get him back? A fantastic book. Each story is amazing!.

Reapers aren’t normally my kind of super natural, but I enjoy Laura Greenwood’s writing and decided to take a chance on this story… I’m glad I did. In a world where Anima feels like an outcast without friends, she’s discovering there’s a chance she overlooked people who have never given up on her… and that appearances can be deceiving, in hell as on Earth.
The series of scenes in Hell was a fascinating journey as the lead character faced her fears, discovered secrets she had managed to keep from herself, and learned sometimes our lack of self-confidence can play a roll in holding us back.
I’m not ready to convert and read every Reaper story that comes along… but I’m really glad I read this one.
I’m looking forward to checking out other stories in the anthology as I make time.
I was gifted with a copy of Shadows and Sorcery and chose to share my thoughts.
I truly thought with all of the Authors in this anthology I’d be in magical heaven. But I only found one book to be truly a 5⭐️ read and that was Water Witch by CD. Gorri and Gina Kincaid. The others just didn’t get me wanting to dive into the worlds they were in, or root for the characters in them. They were easy to read, just not as engaging, though I will say Reaoer from Laura Greenwood was definitely a second best in this book. I wish I could give a star rating for each book, but they only allow for an overall rating, so 3✨’s it is.

I really enjoyed this collection of familiar and new-to-me authors. One of the things I like about collections like this is they give me a chance to sample new authors with minimal risk. If I don't like one, there are several other authors and stories to read. I enjoyed some stories more than others, and some author pairings. Some didn't really resonate with me, but that's okay. (YMMV). Overall, I enjoyed the collection. Water Witch by by Gina Kincade & C.D. Gorri and Reaper by Laura Greenwood were my favorites.

Pretty good stories, some longer, some shorter; all good for those times that you have just a little bit of time to read (like waiting at the Dr's office, during break time, etc.). I liked being able to read a bit here and there and since the stories were shorter, I was able to complete most of a story before I had to put the book down to finish later. There is a good variety of stories, entertaining and perfect for anytime. Enjoy!.

I am only writing on the first book in this edition. Banished is the name of the book and this is about Aphrodite and a primordial named Gideon. Gideon has been searching for his best friend Apollo forever. While Gideon and Hermes are at a coffee shop they are discussing how and where to look for Apollo. Gideon "feels" a god is amongst the people in the shop. Who he finds is Aphrodite, the goddess of love. And love happens to Gideon.

Amazing group of stories from some really great authors. I love the variety that this anthology had to offer. From an exiled goddess needing to find love, a psychic wanting to save a client, to an inexperienced witch in a school of magic, and many more. Highly entertaining collection from the first story to the last. If you enjoy reading stories about magic with a bit of romance, this is right up your alley! A must-read that I highly recommend!!!

This an amazing collection of full length paranormal books. I especially enjoyed Water Witch by CD Gorri and Gina Kincade. Rio has spent her first 20 years ignoring her magic in Water Witch. So when she starts attending Westwood Academy, she starts learning from scratch. It's a busy semester with many adventures.
