Finally, I got to know what was on David's mind and what he thought about Sophie since the first time he saw her standing in front of the gift shop. In this installment, the author revealed some facts about his unhappy childhood. Beneath his cold facade was a vulnerable lonely man who was afraid to fall in love with his own wife.

I think so far, this is the most interesting installment in the series.

One more book to go. Alright, on to the last one!

This third book in the series finally offers the insight into David that I'd been waiting for! Retelling the story from the start, in David's POV, filled in all of the holes. I wish it hadn't taken so long for Ms. Grey to offer a glimpse into his inner workings, but better late than never. Hearing the other side of the story made a world of difference!

Despite his feelings for Sophie, he keeps on pushing her away when he should be offering reassurances. While that is incredibly frustrating, at least we learn what is really going on inside his head and aren't left to believe what is coming out of his mouth! Whether or not he wants to love Sophie, he does. The sooner he gets over his mommy issues and fesses up, the happier we'll all be.

I'm guessing there will be some big romantic overtures and groveling in the next book. I can't wait!

This series is sooo good! This is the third mini book, or novella, and it just keeps getting more and more interesting. Claim, although basically a sum up of the series so far but in David's POV, sheds some major light on the inner thoughts and turmoil in his head.
We are given more insights into his tarnished upbringing and therefore clueing us in as to why David is so emotionally distant.

It was nice to see that he wants and cares more than he's willing to admit for Sophie. He seems to be fighting an uphill battle choosing to ignore his drastically evolving feelings for her, but still insisting that their union is only about sex---keep telling yourself that boy, ;-).

Where as poor Sophie is completely in the dark. She loves him--no spoiler there--and has finally convinced herself he doesn't feel the same. As we were left off in Rebellion, Sophie has bailed on her marriage to David falsely thinking he was being unfaithful. David's world is falling apart from her imminent departure but he is so stubborn and scared to voice his feelings, that he basically does nothing.

But the man is suffering inside. So much. I love this series in that it is simple, no weird mind games or useless filler. We have two people coming from broken, although widely different backrounds that find each other. One of them embraces the love while the other runs from it--yes, you David. I can't wait for Surrender, the fourth and final novella in this series!
I know you have it in you David, so get her back!

Finally, a peek into David's mind!!!

How can I ever resist a dashing debonair with a tortured soul? Actually, I can but there really is something about David Preston. I do think that keeping these novellas very short works for the author's advantage because it keeps me coming back for more, in the hopes of getting more glimpses into his complicated mind. And alas, I got it... or at least a piece of it.

This is like a retelling of the second novella but then it's not, because things are vastly different when seen from David's perspective as opposed to Sophie's. We get more answers as to why he did what he did and does what he does. Of course it had something to do with his upbringing and thanks to these little flashbacks, we get to empathise with him more and see him as an actual human being instead of just a cold and distant man in a suit.

Definitely got me all giddy and excited as to how things are gonna play out in the last mini-book in this series ;)

ARC provided by author for an honest review.

I fluctuate a bit on my rating of this book for a couple of reasons. 89% of this novella is a recap of the first two novellas from David's point of view. Though I liked the first two books, I was anticipating what would happen next and didn't really get it. It was nice to get a recap, but I feel it was too long and David's point of view wasn't so shocking that it showed me any more insight into the story or him than I could have inferred from the first two books.

I'm still looking forward to the last book in the series, but I have to say I don't think this one was overly necessary, I'm sorry to say.

ARC received in return for honest review.

I'm stealing part of my previous review for the description...
In book 1 we met Sophie who has had quite a tragic life. Her mother died during child birth and she has never known her father. Her very strict and old fashioned aunt raised her but even she passed away recently. Sophie is struggling with financial problems and her job at the local town gift shop looks uncertain so she is considering leaving and trying to set up life elsewhere.

Enter David. Gorgeous, rich, successful, charming stranger with a secretive side. He is passing the shop and steps in. Fireworks explode. In a few days they are married.

I really enjoyed the first 2 short stories, both told from Sophie's POV. Although Sophie is extremely timid we saw some fire to her and began to feel for her and want her HEA. This time we get David's POV. However, I was disappointed to discover that 90% was the first two novellas retold in his POV. Only a very small part was the continuation of the story. You do gather insight into David's past which gives an understanding of why he is the way he is. I also for the first time began to sympathise with David and began to think he was deserving of Sophie.

The story is still well told, I just couldn't rate higher as I thought there would be more new material.

Looking forward to part 4...

AMAZING!! This was my favorite books out of the whole series so far! This is the third book in the A Dangerous Man series and this story was in the POV of David Preston.

I absolutely loved being in David's head! This was the same story that we heard from Sophie's perspective in the first book except there was so much more of David's feelings and background. In this book, we get a better picture of David's childhood which explains the strained relationship with his mother. Knowing more about his background makes it easier to understand him. He is a powerful man that isn't afraid to take what he wants, even if that means hurting people along the way.

Serena has a way of weaving her words so that you melt in the beautiful love scenes between Sophie and David, but she also leaves you with all those feelings of first time love and total admiration. She has strong character development and you feel as though you are part of the story as you are reading. David and Sophie are easy to relate to in so many ways.

Serena has definitely moved up into my favorite author list. One that I would easily read anything she writes!

I decided to give this book of the series 5 stars because I got to learn more about David, got to feel his pain from his past, and got to see how he had already started to care for Sophia the first night they were together, it wasn't just the sex, there was more there but he didn't recognize it yet. I am thrilled that I got to see the real David, I disliked him so much in the last book and it was great getting to hear how he was feeling, why he was doing certain things, why he couldnt spend alot of time with Sophia at first, and most of all I was thrilled to read that he hated Carole kissing him but he was trying to get away without pushing her due to where they were. I loved how he stood up for Sophia when Carole put her down. Something that still bothers me in this book that bothered me in the last book is that David cares about her so much but he struggles with love because of his mother and his past, why not tell Sophia and let her decide if this is enough for now until he can see that love can be different, give it a little time. I also am still angry that Sophia jumps so quickly to believe the witch Carole, that anger has carried over from the last book into this one. It is funny because now that I know what David has been feeling and thinking this whole time I am angry with Sophia for leaving him, yes I know she doesn't know how he feels but when something happens close to the end of the story she should be able to tell how much he cares but she is overreacting, not even trying to get to the bottom of why he is saying one thing but his actions say another, instead she just wants to pout. I don't know, now I am ending this book angry with her and I ended the last book angry with him lol. I will say that I feel like I am at the same spot I was when I finished the last book, still not knowing what is going to happen with David and Sophia, and still not getting to enjoy them spending real time together as a married couple without all the drama, I wish we could have move along a little with the storyline, not ended on a sad note again. So now how long will I have to wait for the final book? I do love this series and hope that others will want to read it, it is an emotional roller coaster ride.

***ARC copy received for an honest review*** (Thanks, Serena!)

Claim gave us the answers for David's behavior. We get to understand why he acts the way he does, the relationship with his mother (well, a part of it) and the situation with that Carole bi***.

I must say that I was really mad because Sophie was weak and she always gave in to what her body wanted. I used to think that she was kind of crazy because of the way she just ran away with David, without a second thought, I mean she married the guy the day after she met him, but then again I don’t blame her :) Now I do not feel that way anymore. I understand where she is coming from. While growing up, she never had anyone to take care of her, to love her, to worry about her. The one relative she had never made things easy for her. So I now see her desperation to feel loved and wanted and that is what she was looking forward to when she married David, he noticed and wanted her and that was enough. Until it wasn’t anymore.

David, he definitely has a problem letting people in and he is having a hard time trusting Sophie and accepting his feelings for her, so he just hide things from her and treat her poorly, even if he does not want to. He just does not believe in love, and because of all of his issues, it happened what happened with them.

Claim, as Awakening and Rebellion, is a fast read, but a very good one. It kept me glued to my kindle, reading until the end. I always wondered what was going through David’s head and, since Claim is written from his point of view, we get to know how he thinks and feels. Seriously, it was revealing and it helped to improve the image I had of him: now I don’t think he is heartless. If you have read the series, surely you will know what I mean, if you have not, then read it and you will ;)

I can’t wait for Surrender and see where David and Sophie’s story is going.

Received this book for an honest review

This is the third book in this series. The fourth book will tie it all together and HOPEFULLY we will get our happily ever after.

This book is from David's point of view. He is retelling book one and two from how he feels. I did learn he isn't the complete jerk that he appeared to be in the second book. He does have a heart after all. His problem: love is weakness.

We get some incite into the relationship/non-relationship that he has with his mother. Just not all and not enough. I hope we get some more confrontations or even David opening up about his mother. Too much left unspoken.

We get David as he struggles with blackmail from Enrique and the lovely Carole. I'm sure we haven't seen the last of this evil witch yet. We see the toll that having your company being bought out from under you takes on him. Not only is he a newlywed, to a person he doesn't even know, but all of these are factors that drive a wedge between he and Sophie.

Sophie desires love. She needs it. She deserves it.

Is David capable of showing Sophie the love she deserves ? Will these two be able to overcome the obstacles that they have created to heal and love one another ?

I would rate this book 3 1/2 stars. It just didn't have enough "new" material. I enjoyed reading David's thoughts and feelings but it needed more. I would have loved to experience the two of them on their two week honeymoon. More interaction/communication besides sex.

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to read your book. I look forward to the secrets left to be revealed and the conclusion of David's and Sophie's journey into love.

Finally David's perspective of everything I was a little upset that it was like a re-telling of what we already knew what happened and I kinda wanted to see what would happen next and not what we already knew, but it was good to get inside his head, "eighteen! I'm lusting after a baby." I mean it's good to know that his feelings in some parts were genuine and I didn't really see him as an a** like I did in the last installment, "the passion in her response surprises me. God, I want her. The desire I felt earlier has turned into an acute craving." He doesn't like her talking to other men, "I move from my position beside the couch until I'm standing behind Sophie, directly in line of his sight. He looks up, and I watch with satisfaction as his expression changes." You know at some points in the book I thought he really did have feelings for Sophie but then I realized it's just sex and he was only making sure his investment wasn't in harms way so he's still an a** in my eyes, "I've been trying to find you for two days Sophie." He takes a deep breath. "Did you think I was going to let you just disappear? Steve was waiting outside to take you anywhere you wanted, but you never came out. I was worried. You weren't in the apartment..." He stops and runs a hand through his thick hair, "Why didn't you go back to Ashford?" Yeah... real nice David.

This is the 3rd book is this series of short stories. In the first part we had the story from Sophie's point of view. In this part it's from David's point of view. Lovely, this part brings out all the love that we thought was there but then were lead to believe that it was all on Sophie's side.

Here we find that David is just as affected by Sophie as she is by him. True love at first sight, apparently it happens. Beautiful, passionate, sexy and all consuming. David has no idea how to deal with the feelings that he has. Most people in this world don't, I know I don't. We get to see why he did what he did in the first part and the reasons why he let her walk away in the end of the 2nd book.

Feelings and love like this are very rare, to find someone that even when your brain is telling you to go one way, your body is choosing another. To find that someone that is just meant to be, that is all of us romantics dreams. Waiting with such anticipation for the 4th instalment of David & Sophie and hoping for their HEA.

I have such hope for the moment that David lets himself love Sophie. Despite what he thinks he believes in, it's going to be beautiful. I fell in love with David & Sophie in this book, it just made the whole story make sense and looking forward to more.

Do you know now sometimes you want something small. A perfect snack and your satisfied. That is how I feel about this series. They are the perfect snack for my senses and I adore it!

This book finally lends us a bit of insight into the mind of David Preston.
I enjoyed picking in his brain and mulling his thoughts over. David is one intriguing man!
His odd and totally dysfunctional relationship with his mother. His childhood. Wow!
David still perplexes me. I really do enjoy his character, even though parts of me want to kill him. I mean he can be so cold and make you feel like he is truly heartless.

Of course this one leaves you wanting more. The steam level is high. Nobody can say that Sophie and David do not have the sizzle factor down to a science. I do on occasion still want to track Sophie down and make her leave. Beg her to not be led by David's wicked way of her body. However .. I don't!
Once again I am left wanting more, having more questions and captivated.
Although this book did give me so many answers.. So much .. Well I still need more!
Like I said before this series is the perfect snack of decadence .. You won't be disappointed.
Awaiting book 4... ❤️❤️

David Preston is not the relationship type. That was until he drove through town and saw Sophie Bennett. Everything about her entrances David…..making him want so much more.

Impulses are something David has never indulged in. However, he finds he cannot get Sophie out of his mind, and has a quickie wedding. Married life is not something David planned for. Business has always come first. So, relating to being a newlywed is ‘foreign’ for David. Things aren’t always easy and David is about to learn that everything can not ‘run’ like a business.

Claim is the third installment in the Dangerous Man series. This short story explores the relationship through David’s point of view. Letting readers in on the reasons behind some of David’s actions and history. I enjoyed finding out more about this duo. I stayed up reading and then turned the page…..um, the book ended already. What???? I have to wait for more??? I MUST find out where the relationship between Sophie and David is headed. Please Serena - Write faster!!!

I received an ARC from the author for my honest review, so here it is. I love this story, Sophie and David are made for each other. I hope David would realize it before he does something else stupid. We get David's POV in this on and it really helps you understand sort of why he did what he did. But will he lose Sophie because he is afraid to love her? He has been hurt by love many times and doesn't believe it is worth losing his heart and soul to keep Sophie. Will she let him go for good or will she help him see the truth of what love can do for him? Will Sophie let him help her go to art school or will she break away clean? How can she, she loves him too much. This is a quick read and worth it, but if you have read this series, please start at the beginning. Because you will be lost and confused if you start with this one. A Dangerous Man series includes Awakening, Rebellion, Claim, and not out yet Surrender. Great job Serena Grey, looking forward to reading more from you!

I was sent an ARC of this book, and have been a fan of the series since the beginning. Although the story and book are good I was slightly disappointed in the sequence. This is book 3 of the series and you were left with a cliffhanger at the end of book 2 "Rebellion." I have been eager to find out what happens and instead this is a recap of the last 2 except from the POV of David. Don't get me wrong I wanted to hear his thoughts and feelings and the book in itself is great, but at the end you only get 5 minutes more of the story with no real resolution to the cliffhanger. Also, I noticed the next book is to be the last for the series.. a disappointment. There is so much more that can be told as they both suffer from a difficult upbringing, Sophia's missing father and the real story of how her parents met, crazy Carole, a new twist, the possibilities are endless. I'll be sad to see it end as the starting concept was great and has captured the my attention.

I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
If you're looking for a quick series to read, A Dangerous Man is definitely a series to check out. This is the 3rd book in the series.
I am so glad I got a chance to read this book, having read the others I really thought that David was a complete jerk! Finally seeing things through David's eyes and getting a look into how he grew up, I can understand why he did some of the things he did. Although he was still a jerk at times and could have definitely handled things differently.
While reading this you also have a better understanding of why he was so interested in Sophie as well. There was an instant attraction (and not just on her side like she thought) and it's something he can't deny. Hopefully by the end of the next and final book he gets his head out of his ass and finally realized what he is going to lose if he lets Sophie go.
I can't wait to see what happens in the next book!

Claim is the third book in Serena Grey's Dangerous Man series. In this installment we get David's POV. David Preston grew up with a great resentment towards his neglectful mother. He lives his life with no strings attached relationships. When he meets Sophie, he can't contain his desire to make her his. He is instantly captivated by her innocence and beauty. As fast as they meet, they marry. David struggles with his feelings for Sophie- they are foreign to him as he sees love as a weakness. I liked being able to know David’s thoughts in regards to Sophie, his feelings for her and their marriage. Always used to being in control, it wasn’t easy for David to give into his feelings for his wife. Although on the short side, I liked this installment in the series.

“Claim” is another amazing read from Author Serena Grey. It gives us the story from the beginning but this time it’s told from David’s point of view. This book gives us all of the unanswered questions we had from the previous books. We get to know the real reason David asked Sophie to marry him, why he feels the way he does toward his mother and where he stands with his relationship with Carole. Sophie now knows where she stands with David and he knows he needs to find a way to get Sophie to forgive him or risk losing the one person who has shown him love in a long time. I cannot wait to read the next and last book in the series; this one has definitely left me wanting to know how things end.

I have to say being that this was the third book in the series it's probably my favorite getting to know David what's going to his head that he's really not a heartless person you think he is was just amazing. First I didn't like the way Sophie kept running but then you understand why she did what she did she just wants what she never had growing up. Yes she's young but she knows what she wants I just hope David can give her what she wants.

I loved that you got to really know what was going on in David's head I just hope that he can express what's in his heart because you know he just can't let it out because of his mother. If you haven't read the series you really should, I suggest. honestly I was in tears the last two chapters cannot wait for the fourth book.

5 amazing stars!!!

The dangerous man series keeps getting better and better....

LOVES: I love that it is mostly told in David's POV... I think it makes him more likable and less like and a$$...

I love that their chemistry is increasing and that Sophie is growing a real big pair of..... Well you know ;)

DISLIKES: none

HOPES: that they have more sparks fly between them (fights, sex, etc.)

Overall I love this series and hope in continues on for more books.... If you haven't started this series yet than you must buy buy buy... You don't know what your missing because even though they tend to have tiny cliffiies it doesn't hurt the storyline and won't make you feel like you have missed out....

Wow, David and Sophie have a world wind romance. He has a heart of stone and this book is more of him only. which I always love by the way. Two sides of every story. Anyway, he is seeing that his heart is slowly opens opening open to Sophie and he sees himself changing and is happy until Sophie wants his love and since she loves him so much it hurts her so much that she feels like nothing. You in this book David is a hard ass corporate man m as making money and not having relationships is what he does. Sophie wants nothing from him but LOVE. Is she willing to walk away with feeling like her aunt has always made her? Is she ever going to feel LOVE? Have to wait till the next book. ugh. I can't wait for it. Great read and can't wait for more.

I received an ARC of this book, but my reviews are always honest.

Let me start out by saying I am a Serena Grey fan for life, she hooked me with her writing from book one. Her writing is entrancing with clear concise grammer. This book held all the previously mentioned assets. I enjoyed David's retelling of the story. I gave this book 4 stars compared to the 5 stars of the previous books for two reasons; first sometimes authors don't give enough new insight into the others characters perspective during a retelling as to not keep the book from being repetitive&boring this teetered a little, and second there was just NOT ENOUGH of the continuing story to appease me. Why do you torture me thus Ms. Grey???

I gave "Claim" 5 stars even though I was crushed to find myself at the last page. I loved this book from David's perspective. Learning more about his mother and Carole gave better insight into him. And his meeting with Sophie and the feelings that she stirred in him were so sweet and lovely and sexy. I cried along with Sophie as her heart was broken.

I hope the next and last (?) installment comes quickly and is more lengthy. This has been such an excellent story, I would hate for the ending to feel rushed and unsatisfactory. I would so love to see Sophie and David come together as they are meant to, and have a view of their happiness together.

I received the ARC from the author.
When I was contacted by the author to receive Claim to read for free and review for free I was ecstatic. This book is almost entirely from David’s point of view over the previous two books. It was nice to get a look at David’s past and how he felt about Sophie when he first met her and where he is coming from. However I do not like to rehash or recap from another point of view I found myself skipping ahead in the book waiting to see what would happen when Sophie left David and was disappointed to only get a short bit from where the 2nd book left off. Overall a decent book, but I am waiting for the 4th book.

I absolutely loved this series. In this 3rd installment we were able to glimpse some of David's past. And I also loved how it was written in David's point of view,it gives us an insight on what he was thinking and how he really feels about Sophie. I just wished the book was a little bit longer but other than that the story was amazing. I loved David and Sophie's story. I'm looking forward to reading the 4th book of the series. I can't wait to see where their story would lead us. What a fantastic read! A must read book!

Book 1 & 2 let you think David is an ass. Well that is not really too far from the truth, but still in book 3 you can understand why he is such an ass. We get to know where he is coming from.

We all know Sophie is a dreamer, she has a low self-esteem, but she IS growing up. She maturing, and she made the difficult decision and stick to it.

As a couple they need to overcome a lot, and the next book (Surrender) being the last book in this series should be a little longer for them to have a HEA.

Loved the recapitulated book 1 & 2 in David POV.

As always chemistry was HOT

BK#3 IS CENTERED ON DAVID TOLD IN HIS POV. WHICH DIDN'T SURPRISE ME, BECAUSE WHEN IN A NEW RELATIONSHIP IT TAKES TIME TO KNOW A PERSON. WHAT'S HAPPENING BETWEEN DAVID & SOPHIE IS EXPECTED SINCE NEITHER OF THEM REALLY KNOW EACH OTHER YET. YOU NEVER REALLY KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT EACH OTHER NO MATTER HOW LONG YOU'RE TOGETHR. I HOPE ALL GETS STRAIGHTEN OUT AND ENDS IN BK#4. THIS IS AN ENJOYABLE STORYLINE I LIKE IT BUT THESE SHORT NOVELETTES COULD HAVE BEEN PUT INTO ONE BOOK WITH 209pgs TOTAL. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THIS METHOD IS SO POPULAR. NOW WE WAIT. SIGH! ;{

I received an ARC of Claim, and it took my a while to get around to reading it...but my...oh my. Serena Grey does not disappoint. In this third installment to the series we got to see into the brain that is the dashing David Preston. He's truly amazing, I just wish he would open up soooo bad! He's killing meand not only me...but Sophie, poor Sophie is trying to hold up her resolve...I would definitely be doing the same. I cannot wait for the next book.

*hint hint Serena*

C'mon! I need more David and Sophieeeee!
